Please update the video. Didn't include Vishakapatnam class destroyer which is the most advanced destroyer from India. Kolkata class mentioned in the list is a decade old one but surprisingly it is doing much better than current ones in the world. Equipped with Brahmos, Vishakapatnam class destroyer's attack capabilities are far superior than the ones mentioned in the list. With Barak 8 defence, it is near impossible to get attacked by any missile.

Kolkata class is a totally different class of destroyers, Kolkata class destroyers are the successor of the delhi class destroyers, the name of the three Kolkata class destroyers are INS Kolkata, INS Chennai and INS Kochi. Whereas Vishakapatnam class destroyers are the latest Destroyers and the successor of Kolkata class destroyers. The three vishakapatnam class destroyers are INS Vishakapatnam, INS Mormugao and INS Imphal. The next gen destroyers that is the Project 18 (P-18) class destroyers will be the successor of Vishakapatnam class destroyers. It will be one of the biggest and heaviest destroyers after completing with a weight of around 12,000 tons. The first ship is supposed to be ready by 2027.

Vishakapatnam is more powerful without a doubt than the Type 52D, Type 055 is no doubt way more powerful than Indian destroyers. But not the Type 52D. And i don't know why Kolkata was considered rather than Vishakapatnam. Though same but still different. And type 055 is arguably a cruiser if considered the size. But if to be considered as a destroyer it should have been in the top 3. Or 2. And Burke in terms of armament is a bit in the downward side than the Eejon The great. But in terms of sensors its ahead. We should also understand that both the Japanese and Korean destroyers are Aegis destroyers.

As an Indian, l don't agree that the Kolkata Class destroyer should be in your list. These destroyer are defence destroyer to protect our terrietorial waters and thus have less firepower(with only 48 VLS cells and most of them are occupied with air to air missile). Also it a generation lower than the other destroyer mentioned in your video.

1) As a Dumb@$$ you should know Indian destroyer is the only Warship in the list which has stealth design. 2) Its a multirole destroyer not Air defence destroyer. 3) It is designed to perform Long range multirole missions including escort role to Indian Aircraft carrier battle group. It has 15000km range which is highest among warships on list. 4) Less "VLS" doesn't mean less Firepower......For example:- Brahmos missile has twice as heavy as Tomahawk yet 4 times faster and has 32 times kinetic energy. BARAK 8 system has 100km to 150km range and has Anti ballistic missile defence capability. 5) There's empty space available onboard for another 32 VLS but not used.

The indian destroyers carry 16 brahmos anti ship missiles which are the fastest supersonic anti ship missile in the world. And it also carries 32 indo-isreali barak-8 sams so it perfectly fits on the list

Type 45 destroyers are designed for Air defence role, while Kolkata/ vishakhapattanam class destroyers are Multirole destroyers which can perform Air defence, Anti ship, Land attack, Anti submarine warfare roles.

@t.4999 Any offensive capabilities? The 4.5 inch, MOD 1 main gun, as well as their ability to carry Harpoons AND tomahawk cruise missiles? Ah yes, sounds like a lack in offensive capabilities... As for the radar, it also tracks ships and ground targets, so whilst you're right in saying it is an air defence Destroyer (AAW) It can, and probably would, be used for S2S combat

There are hypersonic cruise missiles of 500kms+ range that can break a ship in half with just its memetic power and air defence missiles of 150kms+ rage… and you are talking of subsonic tomahawk and other short range missiles of the 80s-90s… seriously? I've only been on all 6 destroyers, both our carriers, 2 frigates, 2 US Arleigh Burkes, and 4 OPVs, but sure, my experience means nothing, even though I've witnessed exercises go sideways. But hey, naval warfare at its finest, right? As for your corvette remark, I am yet to see a corvette, with a 4.5in main gun. As for the Royal Navy, from my experience, we are one of the most technologically advanced Navies on the planet. We just serverly lack numbers... Also. I stated that the tomahawk were used as an added offensive capability, and I'm well aware of what they are capable of... I would strongly suggest you remain hidden behind your keyboard before you land yourself in an argument you can't finish. Goodday

He had the yj-21 ballistic anti ship missile 1500-2000kms range mach 6-10, the yj-18 anti ship missile 540kms range mach 3 final hit, the hq-26 anti ballistic misdile, the hq-9b and hq-16fe anti cruise missiles, drones and a airplane, hq-26 anti ballistic and satellites missilles, cj-10 cruise missile surface to land, yu-8 missile anti submarine, to helo z-8, cwis 1130 and hhq-10 short range defense, 4 giant aesa radar s and c band, 50% more power electricity than burque and ticonderoga, 4 aesa radar band x for targeting and other stuff for the 8 first ship they build. Those type 055 are better than all of your short list actualy

Where did the Maya class go? And I am Japanese, so I am probably a bit biased, but I believe that even the Atago class, not the Maya class, is superior to the kolkata class. The Atago class has been recently upgraded to the same Aegis System Baseline 9 as the Maya class and is now equipped with an/spq-9b, and can also carry SM-6, although it is not currently scheduled to do so. The Kolkata class, on the other hand, can carry only 32 cells worth of missiles, the remaining 16 cells being for anti-ship missiles, and the range of the Barak-8 missiles is not flattering to begin with, and the Kolkata class is not a dedicated defense ship like the Aegis in terms of armament to begin with. I think the comparison itself is wrong.

all you are talking about is Air defence. Talk about the Radar - The MFSTAR is an AESA radar with a range of around 500 kms. AN/SPY 1 D(V) is a 400 kms PESA radar introduced in 1998. Anti ship/land capabilities - BrahMos can hit targets over 400 kms with speeds of Mach 3. Where does the Type 90 Anti ship missile stand in Comparision? 200 kms range and Mach 0.8? Anti sub warfare - Kolkata is equipped with Heavy torpedo tubes with torpedos have ranges of 40 kms. This is supplemented by ASW rockets for short range targets. @@ParaSF-im8kn Indeed, it's no surprise that the Atago class loses in anti-ship capability, because 　　　 Japan has long left anti-ship capability to aircraft, such as the f-2 and p-1. However, in terms of anti-ship capability, the helicopters carried by the Kolkata class are older than the Seahawk, and the U.S. only uses some of them anymore, and they are old aircraft that have been retired by Japan and Canada. Also, you said the Kolkata class has a radar range of 500km, but I checked and it only says 450km. I looked it up in English properly. Oh, and how many targets can the Kolkata class radar track at the same time? I haven't been able to find any. The range of the Kolkata-class missiles is not comparable to that of the sm-2 and sm-6, so their range advantage is not that significant. Well, if these factors are taken into account, the Kolkata class is probably more useful than Atago class. However, the Atago class wins hands down when it comes to anti-aircraft capability. The Atago class wins in ballistic missile defense capability, just because the Kolkata class is not equipped with it. Ah, but now that I think about it, the Atago-type SM-6 can also be used as an anti-ship missile, so it may have superior anti-ship capabilities.

@@user-uu3bg7hf1l Helicopters are not part of the ship. They are part of the Naval Aviation and can be changed as per requirement on a ship. From 2023, the Indian Navy has started acquiring MH-60R, the upgraded version of what the Japanese Navy uses, SH-60K. In the coming days, they will be be flying from the frontline warships of the Indian Navy. Kolkata Class's radar range is shown as "over 450 kms". I have been on the INS Kolkata and the sailors have told me its "around 500 kms". Even for Atago's radar , its shown as 370 kms, but for this comment, i have calculated as 400 kms. Hundreds of targets are tracked. and AESA technology is much more superior than PESA. Its a generation ahead. I have agreed, Atago wins in Anti air as well as Ballistic missile defence. But Kolkata is much better in Anti-ship, Land attack, Anti sub warfare, radar and aviation facilities. Even the design of Kolkata is stealthier and more modern 2010s design. Atago is directly based of the older 1990s Arleigh Burke Class design. Also Kolkata Class has much more advanced network centric capabilities. Look up "Cooperative engagement capabilities" .

Well, I could agree that the Aegis system is the most powerful in the world, but the spy-1 is a passive radar, so it is inferior to the Kolkata class radar. The Arleigh Burke is battle tested against who?, Sadam Hussein, and the Tabilan Militia Navy. Are you serious, if they are the most powerful countries the USN fought against, I wouldn't call that battle tested. None of these destroyers are tested in any naval battles, such as the Battle of Midway, the Coral Sea, and the Leyte Gulf, or the Jutlands. Those are just a few of the great Naval battles, until these vessels face such challenges; I personally would hold off, on any claims that they are battle tested .

Threats to destroyers are other surface combatants, aircraft with anti-ship missiles, cruise and ballistic missiles, and submarines. Did either Iraq or Afghanistan possess any such military capabilities?.

I'd suggest, next time partner with India for your ships, rather than Spain or Uk. Unless u want overpriced, less capable 30 year old technologies. The Spanish clone you use uses the American AEGIS system which was initially introduced in the 1990s. Even US is upgrading the radar and other systems in the Arleigh Burke Block 3 version. And you bought that for 3 Bil$ for a ship that was commissioned in 2017.

By the way, even some german frigates like the Sachsen class should be considered destroyers due to size, armament and role. And I’m living out the more recent Baden-Wurttemberg class, wich are giant frigates with 7200 tons displacement. The bigest around the world. Even the spanish produce aegis frigates that due to size, armament and role can be considered destroyers. But hey, let’s all pretend that we “eat noodles” everyday, If that makes the planet happier and prouder. ✌😌
