Nothing is perfect. You could pick apart any truck. But some of these things Ford should be ashamed of. #trucks #diesel

I've got a clean, 2004, F350, XLT, standard cab, 8ft bed, 6.0, manual locking hubs, excellent heat and AC and comfortable cloth seats. I love it! Yet I am often tempted to buy new..... and then I watch a video like this one. Thanks!

When I tow my equipment trailer, my ram 3500 rides like a Cadillac. But unladen, it tears you up. Bad. I did add 2 extra plates on the rear leaf packs. It takes A LOT to get a squat out of it.

Although I enjoyed your jeep and gladiator videos best. Your reviews are honest and sensible. Really, Cost seems to be the common denominator with all the annoying omissions with these vehicles. The big 3 all work the same way, trying to milk the consumer for top of trim options. I prefer the good old days when you could order any option on any trim alleviating paying for what you don't want.

It’s not the CP4 it’s the fuel. Fords two fuel filters help greatly! That’s why they don’t have the amount of catastrophic failures that GM had. That said, I just put the S&S DCR in and no longer worry about it. As far as the ride quality run your tires at 55 front and 50 at rear. Also, slap a fox 2.0 bolt on steering stabilizer on. Problem solved. Those AT4W’s will do fine at that psi.

You commented on the Ram riding better, was that a Ram 3/4 ton diesel with rear coil springs by chance ?. If so I sort of assume the GVW or at least rear axle weight rating was not all that spectacular. Its hard to have a unit that has a great ride and can haul heavy. Mind you the 3500 with the upper overload pack that isn't touching the frame pads gives that compromise to haul fairly heavy but unloaded if it has the same lower spring pack ride similar to a 3/4 ton. None of the true HD trucks ( in terms of leaf springs ) will have a ride like a wimpy half ton spring pack. Years ago I had tried out a used Dodge 3/4 ton single cab long box as a potential farm truck and I've never been in anything that rode that horrible, I swear it was like they bolted the axles direct to the frame similar to an old horse drawn lumber wagon LOL. One of my nephews drives a company Ford 3/4 crew cab standard box ( gas 6.2 ) that is a few years old now and he just hates it, hates the seats, hates the ride, and the lovely death wobble he has experienced a few too many times and Ford does as little as possible as per warranty to do anything proper to correct the issue. However all of the big three have their issues, it just seems to be the theme and without a doubt they all love to charge insane amounts for a few more gimmicks or in some cases needed options ... they know where the money is, its up selling a customer into a higher trim level. Not sure if your truck has a block heater and if it functions at any ambient temperature but utilizing that and having a winter grill cover will warm up the engine quicker and be better for it vs freezing all the way to work. Around here in Alberta most diesel truck owners put a winter front on, it really makes a difference in our temps to get the engine up to temp and keep it there while going down the road with otherwise all that cold air blasting at the rad.

Even the coil spring Ram 2500 diesels still have 2100 lbs. or more of payload so they are pretty much right on top of where this Ford is.

@@4-LOW More than likely ratings have changed some over the years with the Ram coil spring setup, I just know that some years back the comment was that physically the Ram was not able to do what a typical leaf spring setup could do or was rated for, however the ride was always the noted bonus of the Ram coil system. One of my nephews has a gas Ram 3/4 crew cab long box and he really likes it, loves the ride. Obviously with the Ram if one needed more capacity ... just get a one ton instead. And then with any of the big three, throw in engine options, other package options and the payload number goes all over the place and the only way to figure out capacities it seems is to look at the pillar sticker, manufacturers websites are very generic and don't give payload numbers that mean anything.

These truck manufactures are charging way to much for what you get these days. I had a 15 6.7 and the heater thing didn't bother me but I had heated seats/steering wheel but times where different back then. I paid 55k for a platinum truck and I would almost bet that's what the xlt starts at. I do agree with the trucks being heavy up front and no differential lsp or locker was offered on my year. She liked to spin her tires on my property if there was any sort of water but I'm also in Kentucky. The emissions and CP4 was the reason sold mine and bought a 7.3 Excursion. I came from California so I had a bit of idle time on it and that kills modern diesels. Overall I loved the truck but I work from home and the wife needed a new car

With your last few videos you’ve posted, I think you regret buying a super duty. Sell it and get something else so you’re not complaining all the time.
