Excellent and valuable information about PTC and Rockwell story. It's a huge acquisiton that I'm trying to follow up on.

Hey Walker, great presentation. A question though. Why do you feel Siemens is not in the direction and not iIoT compliant? Why are Rockwell not compliant since their partnership with PTC which just finished acquisition of kepware not taken seriously? Any specific reasons?

What would be that one 'go to programming language' for industry 4.0? Put in other words, programming language that best fits for 'automating the automation stack'?

Depends on what you are trying to accomplish and who is trying to accomplish it! Python is a good starting point to get the job done ✅

Very nice video and truly insightfull! I'm missing the PLM domain though. Is that on purpose? I can see in these examples its not relevent though it would add to the context imho

You mentioned that the instrument would have a direct, fast connection with the PLC/DCS like fieldbus and other upper layers could also take data from the instrument. How would the instrument communicate directly with upper layers? Will the information not be retrieved from the PLC/DCS?

The "plating lines" is implied galvanic plates, or producing some metal with use of electrolise?

Can’t we just use a raspberry pi with appropriate sensor, then connect to cloud ie iot hub or greengrass? Is knowledge of plc HMi necessary?

Wow man... Most people stop at PLC Or HMI and never mention brands Or common application scenarios And that’s important because it gives you Wait for it... “Context”!!! It lets people know you understand their business and speak their language. Great job dude!
