I actually expected more of a discussion on how to deal with obedience between parents and spouses, i.e., how to keep husband happy whilst not letting parents feel like I no longer give them any authority (which is not true) If anyone knows of any short courses or lectures specifically on this topic, please let me know. I really need it.

Find good (female) company so that their good qualities can rub off on you, make this Sunnah dua from your heart every day: اللهم اني أسئلك جليسا صالحا One day you're going to get married and you won't have to deal with your own parents's Shenanigans. When that time comes, always make dua everyday for Allah SWT's protection and that your husband as well as his entire family is extremely loving and effectionate. May Allah SWT grant us all Tawfiq.
