I have actually wondered whether they used a ChatGPT (LLM) of some sort because when they create long pieces of text they struggle to keep the story coherent. They can only process a certain number of words and then lose track of what is going on. Something so odd happened when this was written. I would love to know the behind the scenes story. Probably something like, they wrote it, then Disney interfered, and then they rushed a new story and started filming before it was ready. Something dumb like that.

@@writingrefDoesn't Morgan come after this though? All the Jedi must have believed was that force-sensitive women have historically found their way into the Night Sister order, and been trained in their ways, instead of being born into the Covens. They're also not wrong, since this Coven clearly are operating like they're a novelty and unnatural, and then Morgan was probably a product of a change in how some one order did things. It's not necessarily inconsistency, it's what could have established a change in customs.

@writingref 17 күн бұрын
@@bajansamurai I thought of that too but clearly the nightsister clan is not the only type of witch on Dathomir. There are several clans, to include light side ones. And the clone wars clearly implied the nightsisters kept a clan of male zabraks as slaves for breeding. So . . . Headland should have known that one. The real answer is Tales of the Empire didn't communicate when this script was written. Its a small issue that can lead to larger ones.
@bajansamurai
@bajansamurai 17 күн бұрын
@@writingref but what you're describing are all things that followed these events and you pointed out there are different clans. At this point 70 to 100 years before events such as Clone Wars and the OG Trilogy, what the Jedi know about Dathomir witches is limited. All they know is that Force users of various races come together and practice their arts, using the Force very differently than Jedi do. Over time they will learn more. What we know about the Nightsisters is that some time in the future they depict that practice of keeping males. It is likely a long running custom, but it wasn't one the Jedi witnessed beforehand to know any different, and it was not the practice of the groups they encountered on other planets (such as this).

The further Star Wars gets from the stars and from wars, the less interesting it is. In olden times, there seemed to be more spaceships, aliens and sprinting away from blasters while making funny comments about how in over their head they were. Like, the movies were mostly light-hearted and filled with chasing, being chased and ocassional moments of emotional depth (which made those moments much more effective). But now its almost all dialogue and quiet moments. Good for other genres, but false advertising if it says "Star Wars" on the box. 😂

I'm still in this until the end. Overall I've enjoyed this show and what they're putting together. But.... I can't deny that things aren't working for people. And so it's had me going back and thinking how I feel about the overall series so far with one more episode left. Put the biased pre-hate people aside, there have been noticeable critiques that even I can't overlook. The structure of the story isn't working. The 35 minute episodes aren't working. Only 8 episodes to tell a story that bounces between two many uncompleted/unfulfilled plots. Motivation from the characters don't fit the scenes/plot moments on various occasions. And there is one thing that bugs me that continues from JJ Abrams/Bad Robot Star Wars/Star Trek and that's a misunderstanding of time and distance between worlds in space, driving plots towards happenstance and not logical plot pathing. Again, I'm in it to the end. I love all the characters and actors involved. I do believe they worked hard on this and sometimes even hard work on entertainment doesn't produce the best results in the end. And I do hope this leads to Plagueis and if they do so, I hope it's executed in a way that, at the very least, has most people going "Okay, that part works. Lets go."

But this episode is just like watching episode 3 again and adds very little to what we already knew. Sol and Qimir are the most compelling characters and the twins are so boring that I have no desire to delve even deeper into their backstory. Not only that, with only one episode left this series feels rushed and not completely thought through. What are they going to do in the next episode that brings it to a satisfactory conclusion from the fans perspective?

Why? Do you think every film or show should be titled after the make-up of the lead stars? Should Star wars have been called "group of friends" or blade runner called "one guy".

Sol was seeing Mae and the mom disappearing into the mist. That why he killed the mom. He feared for the child. Understandable kill in my opinion for a Jedi Why do any of them feel bad to what happened really. The coven was taking the Wookiees mind to control him. The coven mom chose violence first.

The Torbin awakes from his meditative sleep and kills himself due to these events........ yet he didn't really do anything drastic to have trauma to convince to go into a meditative state and then later feel the need to kill himself. Like I was expecting a Tom Cruise 4th of July jedi tragic flashback. I am not a star wars fan but I feel like people wanted a 1967 Chevy Impala with the leather interior, V-8 engine, chrome rims....... but we are just getting an updated 2024 smart car.

Did the archers just give it up as a bad job and wander off? Torbin didn't seem to hit any of them and they just disappeared. And it's all been caused by Sol wanting a padawan and then fixating on an 8 year-old girl he's seen from a distance.

They are still so terrified of the word midichlorian. Until they get over that fear and lean into what Lucas wanted to do with them concept wise you will never get true star wars again. Basically this episode was ep 3 with a few extra scenes that really doesn’t add to the story we already know. The main witch lady dying felt very cheap, Sol simply not using the force to pick up both Mae and Osha felt cheap too. This plot is not very interesting, considering we already saw this episode 4 episodes ago. Qimir’s episode was the most interesting since it’s the only Sith focused episode of this series that was advertised to be in the Sith pov

@@mikestand8067 that's the point - why would you say "fine. But we must be vigilant " to another police person type figure walking into a dangerous situation? You might as well say "fine. I like where you are thinking, but if the witches did affect the Padawan, wouldn’t his lightsaber ability be slighted? Mae tells the Jedi her mom said they were to be sacrificed at the ceremony. Her own words. So, then saving children from being sacrificed is too much of an emotional attachment for a Jedi, according to Indara? I thought Jedi were the guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy. What's more peaceful and just than saving two young girls from being sacrificed in a ritual? Sol's concern was completely reasonable and Osha said she wanted to go with the Jedi, so the Jedi returning to the mine for her is completely justified.

I still don’t get how Osha knows about and loves the idea of being a Jedi so much. Trinity even said, there’s lots of cultures in the galaxy, yet Sol is sure they’re in danger? And why does she want to leave her family and coven so damn bad? Why’d Sol stab the mom? Like, what was even happening when she was changing or vaporizing with Mae or whatever was happening, that he needed to kill her? It seemed kind of unclear in terms of what was even happening, and definitely not “I need to kill her.” Trinity killing the entire coven via getting them out of the Wookie’s head is so random. This show is just not good. I’m going to finish strong with the last episode next week, but geez this is a rough watch.

Kristian, I disagree with a lot of the choices, but I have to say this episode was not bad. The reason of what went down was plausible . If the mother is the Sith, she did not come close to Sol. He didn't want to fight her. I thought her reaction "NOOOOO!" was on point. She did everything she could to avenge her companion in a duel, but Sol would have none of it. What I didn't like was Moss taking out the whole covenant. I get the theme of "making a choice" comes to play. Moss chose to free the Wookee to get the twins out of a burning facility. I get that, but the way it was done, maybe if we saw Moss really straining, having a headache, nose bleed, something to show she was pushed to the limit and HAD to kill them, or knock them out and the fire did the rest. Still not bad. However it is not Arcane! Rogue One or One Piece. Also not a good enough explanation why a Jedi Master would drink a poison and not talk over it. Good show, fan from the Collider Era

I don’t want to kick a dead horse while it is down, the Wookie fight didn’t make sense to me…so the witches only defense is to manipulate a Jedi into fighting each other?! Why , so if he does kill his crew, what next?!? Ok hear me out, what is the point of an entity that can become a ghost? How does that make sense?! Can we explain this concept ? Is this from the comics or the novels? Why not just disappear immediately when fighting an enemy?
