The Adventure Proposal - Ep. 1 - The Treasure Map

The first part of a 3-month long adventure marriage proposal starting with Jenna finding a treasure map on top of a mountain. The map had five special locations throughout New Zealand which Jenna needed to visit on her way to finding the engagement ring. I wanted to come up with best proposal ever and this is the story.

Hey Micheal, yes she enjoyed it very much. We're glad the vids helped with your trip! I've still got a few more North Island ones to edit but they likely won't be out anytime soon as I have to finish editing the rest of the adventure proposal and then will most likely start editing our Indonesia footage.

This video has just made my day, and this series is going to make my day, and then some. You're both so neat beyond words. Thank you for sharing not only your ideas and your lives, but this. Jenna and Jordan really do seem to(!) know how to live. This is an impressive series. This has always been an impressive channel in its own right. Always has been. Glad you've been enjoying the channel for a while. You've got a keen eye for that scene at 0:51, it's from Cascade Saddle which we think is the most epic day hike in New Zealand. I was going to save that video for one of the last episodes in the Living a Kiwi Life series but I couldn't help myself but extract a small piece of it for this video. I've been up there too :D didn't really plan it as much as you did though 😂 My friend and I arrived in queenstown round noon then we booked some activities for the next day and then we started walking up towards the upper gondola station. when we arrived there we decided to keep walking so we ended up on that same summit when the sun slowly started to set. we hurried back down and on the way I fell and cut my hand quite bad on a sharp rock so back at the gondola station I got some first aid and after we went down the gondola and straight to the hospital where we arrived round 12:30 at night. That was an unforgettable adventure! :D

Stoked for Saturday I first wrote something but then realized that it's a stupid question:) and now I can't remember it. Glidecam seems to do wonders and that is something I have to consider buying as soon as possible. Antti/ Lanttimatkat

Yah, any kind of stabilizer will make a bid difference. For heavy cameras a glidecam is a good option. You other question seems to be back (about the dead cat is actually a good question). I'll answer it now.

Absolutely love your travel videos. I especially enjoyed the epic proposal videos. Can't wait to see the last two. By the way, what type of paper did you use to make the scrolls? And what was the oven temp and time?

Glad you enjoyed the videos. It's just normal printer paper, can't remember the oven temperature (maybe 350F). I just waited until it evaporated the water and then pulled it back out and re-coated with more coffee.

hey! about drone shots, do i need to register or get permissions to get the hike walks in new zealand? i'm travelling there in july

Are you referring to doing the hikes or filming the hikes. You don't need permission to do day walks in NZ, if you're staying at a hut you do need to buy a hut pass. For drone filming the rules have changed a lot over the last couple of years. When I got mine in 2014 there were very few rules around use in NZ. Now they have banned them in a number of national parks. Go to a website call airshare.co.nz. it oulines all the NZ rules.
