Official HD Video for "Standing on Higher Ground" by The Alan Parsons Project
`Standing On Higher Ground' was the lead single from `Gaudi' - a 1987 studio album by The Alan Parsons Project. `Gaudi' is a tribute to the Catalan architect who gave up a normal family life to create many architectural masterpieces. The video highlights the precarious nature of standing on your own looking down on your fellow citizens `running in a rat race'. The lead vocal is by Geoff Barradale who founded the group Vitamin Z.

It's about time (no pun intended) that Alan Parsons was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. He certainly deserves it!

A meaningless honor. A Hall Of Fame for Art. Hmm. My hall of fame is in my head and heart, and l inducted Alan Parsons and Eric Wolffson a long time ago. The rest is just a bullshit Jann Wenner ego trip. His taste is in his ass, and extends only to Dylan and Jagger, and the holy The Band. Spare me. If you love The Alan Parsons Project they are already in the only Hall Of Fame that counts. Yours!!

“ *APP* fans” dislike this album the most. I absolutely adore it. I find it comical that my 2 year old child bops around to this song elated and smiling ear to ear. Yet, some people on the internet bash it because it’s not Sirius.

@@IndustrialSociety1995 I liked it way better when it freshly came out. It was in those days, at the very beginning of 1987, when, in a pretty short space of time, I came to know the, as it would turn out, complete APP catalogue. I was in an utter Project mania then. Memorable days...! 😉👍🏻

I can kind of see how this vid. concept was ahead of its time. Too many people are comfortably trapped living vicariously through what the internet offers. There theycan view the world and take in what they want, neglecting to some degree what real life and the real world can be like......I'm glad the video protagonist had that realization and was enlightened.

Great album after great album after great album. And on each album, great song after great song after great song. I've listened to APP music for decades, and I simply never get tired of hearing this wonderful music. I've purchased their music many times over (original LPs, then cds, then expanded cds, and some legacy editions. But the amount of entertainment and enjoyment I've received has made this a great investment. I was so sad when Eric Woolfson passed away, as his death meant the end of APP. But he has left behind the gift of his genius. And Alan Parson still tours, giving us all a chance to hear this fantastic music live.

Alan Parsons Project Is a well known group in the United States. Alan Parsons was also a producer, the most notable and successful album he produced was Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon. He also did engineering work on The Beatles Abby Road. The man knew his music, especially the electronically composed mishmash of pop/rock/progressive/disco/new wave/etc. that Parsons and company recorded. Their work in the late 1970s and early 80s was a precursor to New Wave music. Great talents
