If Osprey took camera backpacks seriously.. they would dominate the market with their back/harness system... Im tired of sweaty backs 😂

I should have seen this video before buying the updated version of Ospery Comet, those two bags look just the same except for small differences. The Parsec is an ideal one for me because of its simpler design, and its ability to stand on the ground. The Comet always slips and fall on the grount even if you packed a all lot of stuff in there. Thinking about switching to the Parsec.😂

I'm currently phasing my aestethic from tactical looking bags over to more minimalist bags. This one seems great and I love the name. I just can't get over the lack of bottom straps.
@marieta.s8 ай бұрын
You won’t find bottom straps on a backpack that is designed for every day use in the city/travel. If you want bottom straps in order to attach things under it you need to be looking at a different category of backpacks. 😃

Great review! I was wondering if you had experience putting it under an airplane seat and if it’s too big or rigid to fit under there and still have good legroom? Thanks!
@meatman666010 ай бұрын
Osprey replaced my old Osprey Parsec when it developed some internal coating tears. They were very helpful and offered an equivalent $ replacement. Then the customer service rep said the Parsec was coming back as a 26L vs the old 32L. But they didn't tell of the kickstand feature. Basically, it is an internal frame. So, no flex makes it difficult to kick under the seat of an airplane. Also, the rigidity also makes it tough to ram in the overhead. So, I tried the TNF Recon, heavy, stiff, not good. Bought the new Nebula 32L, love it.

Nebula looks perfect except for the lack of wider area where hip belt meets the bag, does the thin hip belt seem to work OK when the bag is heavy?

I haven't used a hip belt since 1981 when I backpack the White Mountains in New Hampshire. Now I use a backpack for my personal care on with my Away larger suitcase for air travel. Once we get to our destination, I pull out the OSPREY REMNANT 17L for sight-seeing.

Hi Desys, Great channel! I recently tried the Parsec in search of a nice EDC bag and it was a bit too much for me! Have you tried the new Osprey Aeode day pack? looks interesting! would you have any idea for an everyday EDC bag? something between the Osprey Nebula, maybe the new Aeode and Apogee? or even Aer?

It looks very similar to the nebula which I love, but I wish it had load lifters. The nebula is slightly bigger in capacity but it’s a well designed bag for my needs. This one would be a good choice if I was to go for a smaller backpack.

the osprey tropos is almost the same as this bag but 32L! so the same size as the nebula
@Ellman1231 Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for doing the video on this bag, Desy. I've been on the fence of whether to get this one, the new Tropos 32, the Osprey Axis 24, or the latest Osprey Radial. The Radial in particular seems like a good alternative to this bag because its unexpanded form is 26L, but can expand to 34L, & has a number of features similar to both the Parsec26 as well as the 2019 Tropos, like the kickstand & Airspeed back panel. Its back panel can also be adjusted for various heights, & the mesh pocket on the front is more usable than the zipped pocket on the Parsec 26. I originally went for the Tropos 34 instead of the Radial, but as a bike commuter who doesn't always need the full 34L I'm starting to regret not getting the Radial, so I'm interested in your thoughts. Thanks again! Great review!
@DesmondCheng Жыл бұрын
thanks! I like how the radial can expand, however the biggest thing I don't like is the concealed water bottle pocket. If you have a rubberized water bottle, its much more difficult to get into into the pocket as theres too much friction. That's why I stuck with the tropos / parsec, where the water bottle pocket is open and much easier to access. I access those pockets a lot as I also put in sunscreen, kids water, or an umbrella

No luggage/trolley strap? Wonder if you can rig one somehow, or secure the bag another way
@kasper_4296 ай бұрын
Do you mean the strap or compartment so you can put the bag over the handle of luggage? If so, look at 4:05. There is a gap between the mesh panel and the actual back of the backpack, with holes on either side so you could pass the luggage handle through. Hope this helps.

Hi desy. Is this bag super rigid/ stiff? I use an eddie bauer stowaway backpack which is basically a sack with shoulder slings haha. It was 20l and i needed a bit more room, so im considering this one because it doesnt look like a juvenile school bag or a hikers bag. So im kinda used to a bag with no structure, but it was also not super stiff. Im just worried that this will be too heavy or too stiff for something like walking to work.
@DesmondCheng4 ай бұрын
hey, so yes there is structure to the back because of that kickstand. But its a very lightweight bag and the rest of it is pretty soft. So yes its rigid in the way that you can't squish it into a ball, but u can flatten it if its empty

You could always just remove the bottom strap and just make sure the "wings" are flipped out instead of in when you put it on so they're not putting pressure on your hips. I just picked up the Tropos with the same wing design so I'm right there with you. 🙂
