I once met someone on a trade server, I could tell he was a little bit forgein too, but he had offered me a trade for my keys, and he had begged me to accept because he needed the keys for his dream knife. So I accepted, because the trade benefited me as well. After the trade the guy had told me not to remove me as a steam friend cause he was gonna get back to me, I didn’t think much of it but I shrugged it off and kept him on my friends list. A week later, he sends me a trade offer of 35 keys, and in exchange he wanted nothing from me. He was practically giving me $70+ for free, just because I traded with him on a server. He said it was because I helped him get his dream knife and wanted to repay me for helping him. I tell this story to let everyone know, yes there are bad people you can meet in this game csgo, but don’t think there aren’t others who are good hearted too :)

When i was younger (like 12) i was scammed for my knife. It wasnt an expensive knife but i had used my own money that i had earned through chores. At first i got really sad and cried, but even now i still sometimes think about how somebody could steal "money" from a 12 year old boy.

I used to actually sub and watch these guys videos when I was younger. I tried a couple and ended up telling so many people that it was a scam because I never could get myself to follow through. As much as I would have loved to have gotten a Karambit for free to show off to my friends, I had been scammed by a friend online before and could never do it to anyone else. Never thought I would see that channel again but I am still glad I never followed through with any of the scams. Cheers everyone, and thanks for reading.

In my initial stages of steam I was scammed for $15 , it's quite expensive when it's converted into INDIAN CURRENCY(₹) , btw am an INDIAN , I was 13 at that time and God I felt soo sad because I just opened my steam ac and redeemed $20 out of my savings. Anyways after that I was aware and promised to myself that I WILL NOT SCAM ANYONE FOR ANYTHING , cuz I can't really handle the guilt if I do so . So in my case SCAMMING is UNTHINKABLE AND IS FILTHY , AWFUL & A SHITTY THING TO DO.

So I lost my first ever knife and good playskins to someone wanting to upgrade my items to a m9 Doppler. Since then I've participated in gambling, accidentally overpaying items because of the steam market, many many times, but I don't think I've ever been outright scammed since.

As the pinned comment... I once wanted to buy the Mord Fustang kit which I still own and took afew cases from my friend and of course I did repay him as in form of a sticker. I told him he could get anything but he chose the sticker.

I lost my knife a few days ago. I was trading on a site when an exact account sent me an offer at the same time i was gonna click accept on the confirmations of my mobile app. It was too late for me to realize. Steam banned the account but i didnt get my items back.

I actually felt pain when that poor kid was begging for his side of the trade.

That dude thinks he is Robin Hoods and says he will give away his “loots” but he only keeps them for him self.

Such a sad topic for me, because this hits so close to home. My cousin and I in 2018 split our money to buy a knife. We bought a butterfly knife vanilla, and shared it together whenever one of us wanted to use it. (Trading was free and easy to do at this time). My cousin and I were on a steam call having a good time while I was using the knife, when he had to go eat breakfast. A scammer added me and told me to give him the skin under a name and profile exactly like my cousin’s. I thought that he just wanted the skin right before he went to eat so that he could play with it when he got back. Sadly, I had just lost all of our money. I still live with guilt that it had to be my incompetence that lost our knife that we’ve never gotten back. I swear to God this guy got so lucky because of timing that was out of his control.

Many years ago, I was like 9 and in my like second or third game of CSGO. There was this really nice guy, and was my first real friend on steam. Played with him for hours. Promised me an $800 knife and I believed him, he wanted my M4A1-S Nitro (like $1.30 at the time). I was confused but I didn’t want to second guess myself, it’s a really nice knife. Turns out he was captain crunch. After some time, he randomly deleted me and I was kinda sad for a few months before I forgot about him.

i never got scammed because i never want to get lucky or take advantage of anyone. Everything has its price, if you really value something, pay for it fairly. So I never gamble, including open cases which to me is kind of gamble

The dude just puts all the blame on the person he scams. He can't see that he's doing something wrong because he's told himself that the victims are to blame for being scammed so that he doesn't feel bad about scamming them.

this one is on me but i had a UMP skin worth $5 at the time (i don’t remember what it was) and i was looking to trade it for a different skin of similar value. I ended picking a field tested stattrack tec-9 fuel injector worth $5 at the time. So i went on csgo lounge trying to find someone that was willing to part with their tec-9 for my ump. the prices were within a few cents. I found one on csgo lounge after about a week of checking every day and trying to trade with people. I check his profile and i saw a tec-9 fuel injector and then i sent a trade. however the guy advertised it on csgo lounge as stattrack but the one he had was just a normal tec-9. i didn’t realize this until i inspected the tec-9 in game after the trade. The tec-9 non-stattrack was worth only $1. I lost 80% of my umps value. I tried messaging the guy back but he didn’t respond and be has traded it off or sold it since its not in his inventory. Lesson of the story quadruple check that the correct skins are being trade that were advertised and agreed upon.

Good thing they don't have captain crunch in Australia so I'm good

Guys, please. Don’t. Scam. I used to play a mobile game called “Growtopia” and I scammed my friend at the time about 18 “Diamond Locks” which is basically the in-game currency. I still feel guilty about it till this day it has been well over a year and a half, I tried giving them back but I ended up getting scammed about 40 “Diamond Locks” which was all I had left. I’m still haunted till this day for scamming $30 worth of pixels on a mobile game, You’ll regret it, no matter how big, how small, or how important that certain thing is.

I was trading up and got to a FN Fire & Ice Gut Knife then got scammed by some dude I was in a discord with (his name was perigard tradeit.gg) and he offered me $150 USD in stead gift cards I said okay and then he gave me a fake code after I gave him my knife and he then said he had a $500 USD gift card and tried to scam my Poseidon off me too... he was a straight up snake. Anyway a few days later he wrote on my steam wall “+rep over paid $150 USD”
