Hi Ellen, pretty much. 😄 BUT, I really wanted the pen so I could show it for the scam it is. It also gave me a chance to review a diamond painting kit from another company (I’m up to 46 so far). I still see various versions of this pen advertised, all looking like they feed the drills but the more you think about it, the more impossible it is. The drills are wider than the tip, the drills would push the wax out, how do the drills always feed the right way up… Scam, scam, scam. 😄 Thanks for watching! 😊

Hi, The whole thing makes no sense. The base of the syringe is flat, so drills aren't funneled down to the tip. There's no way of ensuring drills drop the right way up. There is no mechanism to feed the drills. The nozzle on the syringe has a smaller diameter than the drills, so it's impossible for a drill to come down to the tip. I think they put the wax in the tip to show that it is, technically, a Diamond Painting pen. It does pick up drills, if you can see what you are doing. Thanks for watching! 😊

Hi Shiralee, these ‘self loading pens’ are a scam. That was the reason I decided to do the video. A lot of people use multi placers for large areas of the same colour but I prefer to place the drills individually in a checkerboard pattern to keep them nice and straight. I’ve now given up using diamond painting pens and place my drills, both round and square, with tweezers. Thanks for watching! 😊

Working on one at the moment. Got them off Amazon on sale. I didn't want to start off paying too much or getting real expensive since this is the first. I have tried to reach out to a couple of people on KZfaq to ask a couple of questions but never got a response from anyone and I probably won't. That is ok though, no problem. I am been looking online trying to find my answers but I do not want to mess up and get scammed. I always here people talking about that. I had been searching for videos and I ran across this one. I saw that you have responded to some comments to people so I thought I would give it a shot. I am disabled and not able to go and run around like most. So I had been trying to find some new hobbies that may be fun and able to enjoy doing. I had been trying to teach myself to draw, sketch, and paint. Also been trying at knitting. Lol. A few weeks ago I ran across Diamond Art. I had never heard of it until then. So I started looking into it. I ordered a kit. I started reading up on what to do, how to do it, some tips and tricks, and so on. Sorry, I didn't mean to go on about all this. I just a wanting a little advice. Ok, I did get myself a pen with LED light. I can hold it in my hand better cause it is fatter. The brand is Diamond Dotz. I also got a light board although I think I should have got a bigger size. Lol. My drills are round for these paintings. I don't see how anyone can use one of those pens that allow you to pick up several at a time and place them. Every time I try, I can never get them even. So I stick with my one drill pen. Although, sometimes I find it easier to use the tweezers. Lol. The pink putty or wax that comes with the kit is a pain in the butt though. Both paintings that came in my kit are round drills. Is there better putty or wax I might get that would stay on my pen longer. That is why I use the tweezers more than the pen, but sometimes, ok a lot of the times, when I go to pick on up it will shoot from my tweezers, and of course, when that happens I am lucky if I find it. I have heard some people on KZfaq talk about waxless pens or pens that you don't have to use putty or wax to pick drills up. I would try to ask about them but never got a reply. I have looked online and tried to do some research, but I am still not sure if or how one would work. Would you have any advise about that or any advise on anything you may think would help me? Like I said in the beginning, I am disabled. Most of it all has to do with my neck, spine, and over half of my vertebrates in my back. I also have rheumatoid arthritis and it is very, very hard to keep a grip on something small. Sometimes I can’t. That is why when I found that big drill pen I got it. It was thick enough I could hold without loosing my grip and it as much, also had a LED light. Thank you for your time.

@@lisalambert2750 on KZfaq Watch Diamond Grandma, she will tell you about Amazon paintings, some are not great, just send it back, but some are fabulous for under $10 or $15 at the most. I purchased the Diamond Painting Group refillable pen, it is a little wider and easier for hand problems, I have corporal tunnel so I also have to use wide tools. Keep watching more Jim he explains and shows different things.

Hi Syklar, the self loading syringe pen was a scam that was going around on Instagram at that time. I did the video to show the ‘pen’ for what it was and, hopefully, stop people from wasting their money. 😊

Hi Debbie, That was the whole point of the video. These adverts appear where it looks like the syringe is self feeding and I regularly see posts where people are asking if these things really work. So I decided to buy one to show people what they really are. :)

These adverts were appearing regularly on Instagram from different web sites about seven months ago. I haven't seen any for a long time, probably because people started to realise that it was a scam.
