Fun Fact : 1 and 2 uses an asston of assets and animations from their previous game Shattered Dimensions and Edge of Time. Such as Spiderman's entire animation set and combat systems is pulled from those games directly.

The first Amazing Spider-Man game was good, it could have been great, but it's good. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is an absolute mess of a game, kind of a guilty pleasure type of game since the base gameplay isn't different. The best thing about these games were the comic book collectables because unlike other games that usually show the covers of comics when gathering certain amounts as collectables, these games actually give players the actual comics to read.

This was actually a solid Spider-Man game. I bought it day 1, and I know there were a lot of unremarkable elements but at the time I really enjoyed it and it did what it was supposed to do. For it to have been developed in one year, it’s a miracle it turned out as good as it did... now its sequel is a whole other story.

I had a Windows phone for about 3 years and I spent most of the time contemplating suicide because of it.

When I went back to get footage of the game last year, I thought, "Eh, this is fine". The first film and game are nothing to rave about, and I knew people who stanned it as of a few months ago (and one of the reasons why I say I "knew" them), but yet, they had something decent under all that mediocrity. Gotta love that their story was a sequel to a movie that hadn't released yet, and convinced a lot of people that the movies sequel would have Cross Species Rhino in it... Except it didn't ( That version showed up in cartoons from 2012 to... Now), and the entire second movie game ignored the first, OH GOD, THAT GAME! The more I talk about this, the less kind words I have for it.

Contrary to popular opinion, I actually liked this game a little. Kinda brought me back to my Spiderman 2 PS2 days. Story left A LOT to be desired, but the gameplay was good enough for me to give that a pass. Now the second game... That one's just garbage with almost no redeemable qualities.

Wait, I thought Yuri Lowenthal played Spider-Man and these games and the later Insomniac Spider-Man. Also, I thought the first ASM was a pretty good title. The second game was trash though due to the controls and graphics being a horrid downplay.

Damn. I remember my mum coming home after I had been to school holding a copy of TASM (the game) and I fell in love with that game. It all came together in just the right ways for younger me. The cover has such a special place in my memory as i played this game to death. I loved photographing all the spider logos to unlock the suits and the intro is engrained in my memory as that first mission got me SO hyped. The mission where you lose your powers scared the hell outta me as i legit thought spidey was gonna die. Also i personally adore spideys voice in this game as it sounds so truthful and it sounds like he actually cares. I know this game isnt particularly popular against spidermans other titles but this will always undoubtedly hold a special place in my heart and will stay as one of my favourite games of all time and is why my favourite spidey suit is TASM suit and the one I used the most in Spider-Man PS4

Fun Fact : Matt forgot to say this but the mobile port was handled by Gameloft, an company that makes VERY high quality licensed ports that takes advantage the hardware. They made AMS 1 & 2 on mobile, both fully Openworld and based on the film's, and also an game I used to play which is an Openworld Dark Knight Rises game based on the movie, sadly they are delisted because the movie died out but you could probably find an Apk out there. The Dark Knight game was the best one in my opinion tbh because it was dark, gritty and had batmobile stuff. Like an watered down Arkham before Knight.

I spent a lot of time in this game. I remember I kept trying to convince myself that it was a much better game than it was just because of the open world. All that said, I still play it when I want something mindless.

I'd honestly love to go back to this one again. I spent so much time with it originally, and all while I played Insomniac's Spider-Man, I couldn't help but feel so bad about how much it outdid just about everything the Amazing games wanted to do. But both of them will still mean a lot to me.

Bruce Campbell doing voice over work for this game just felt bizarre.

I just played this game over the summer on 360 while my son played PS4 Spider-Man in another room. The contrast is pretty stark, but it feels like both games priority is swinging and combat. The missions in Amazing are sort of what I expect: enter here, make it through a series of kill circles, get boss or item. Hell, the Black Cat in Amazing has a crew working for her in her bank heist. Almost all of them are carrying weapons and a few explosives. Amazing is not the worst Spider-Man game, but movie tie-in games are so varied. I like Amazing Spider-Man as the game does feel like an expansion and has places that feel unique. A few of the glitches do appeal to me 8 years later just because we don't see minor ones you can totally play around with that much. If I had to nit-pick one thing its that Stan's apartment, your base of operation, is ridiculously small, a penthouse shack and thats a lot of stairs for an elderly dude.

I think I played this game on Xbox, and I say "I think" because I remember literally nothing from the story, I thought it was very meh, but I liked the alternative outfits and spent quite a while reading the collectible comics and just walking around, but what was the biggest deal braker to me is that if you finish the game once and decide to play it again, there's no new game + option, which means you have to get all the collectibles all over again

This game still holds up to this day, it's not a perfect game but at replay value is actually kinda sweet. It's just one of those simple games with a good story that is a lot of fun to play. It was inspired by the batman games and complimented it by adding it's own styles as well. The first game is way better than the 2nd, although the 2nd game has really fun open world missions. Gotta love this game because it also built the blueprint for the incredible spider man 2018 game we got

I worked for Beenox in QA for a different project and, completely forgetting who made the Spiderman games, talked shit about this game with one of the QA leads. They said that the Spiderman games they worked on did great and didn't know what I was talking about. anyway I was fired- sorry, I mean I reached the end of the contract and they told me I wouldn't be hired again because I was "looking too depressed" and "Not doing enough overtime during crunch" lmao

The Garfield movies weren't awful, and neither were the games. They didn't particularly stand out compared to Spider-Man 2 PS2 and Spider-Man PS4 tho.

I like how one of the unlockable costumes is Cross-Species Spider-Man/Man-Spider. Though I wish that they had integrated said costume into the story at one point, have Peter himself mutate at one point and have him try to work through his mutation, trying to hold onto his humanity before getting cured

I can see why people think the amazing spider man is forgotten but from my knowledge there is a fanbase that holds it quite close as me and others enjoyed it greatly I've always seen it as a not outstandingly great game but still a fun memorable set of movies

Even though I grew up with Sam Raimi’s movies, Amazing Spiderman 1 & 2 came out when I was in high school and I related to Andrew Garfield a lot and honestly those became my favorite spiderman movies. When I feel like watching a spidey movie its usually one of those two. Spoilers: I am glad that Garfield got redeemed and more attention after No Way Home

I played this after the movie. Wild game but it kept me glued to it. The giant mech fight really blew my mind.

I just replayed the game (Wii U) & while I didn't care for it much when I first played it, after playing it again now I find it to be much better than I thought it was before. It's like those old B-quality movies that age better over time. The ridiculousness & stupidity of it all are what make it great, imo. Under rated gem of a Spider-man game.
