Ok, I will be 50 this year and a lifelong Ozzy fan. An "old guy". As a fan, I would much rather see Ozzy retire, and enjoy the time he has left. His well being and health are FAR more important to me than forcing out another album or watching him struggle on stage. He's a legend, an icon who has given me a lifetime of memories and great music, and doesn't have anything to prove to anyone. Just my take.

Metal, even classic proto-metal, is very physically demanding to play. Especially for vocalists. People refusing to let go of the past doesn't change the fact that Ozzy is in his 70s, and can't do it like he used to. Ozzy had a great career, and is still a national treasure, but let the man rest.

Big Ozzy fan here. Sure, it's great to see him still doing videos and making music. But if we were to see some 100% real behind the scenes footage of him doing these vocal takes, I think we all know he had boat loads of help with the production, auto-tuning, mixing, mastering, effects processing on the vocals etc. There's not a chance in Hell that Ozzy can go out on a stage and belt out those notes for one single night, let alone am entire tour. It's sad but dude, nobody can do it forever. Years of smoking, drinking, accidents, meds, drugs, screaming, touring, recording, whatever have left him in pretty fucked up shape and he ain't gonna ever go back to being 80s Ozzy again. I love the guy and his whole fam and will continue to support whatever he does but I am not gonna sit here and lie to myself and pretend that he is still singing like he was in the 70s or some shit. The man has had a super LONG run and he's honestly lucky to still be here at all. I have friends who partied really crazy and didn't make it to 40 so yeah.....
@8bitakvids
@8bitakvids Жыл бұрын
If I had to realistically guess how long ONE track took him to sing on the new record, I'd say he probably recorded only a few lines per day and it took him multiple takes and all had to be edited and tuned etc. in order to make it work. One track was probably weeks of random takes with a shit-ton of studio magic thrown in. No dis. to Ozzy but c'mon man, he can barely TALK on a podcast for a few mins. He's out of breath and his voice is breaking up all the time. The man has done more than enough and should enjoy his kids and grandkids now and take it easy. We love Ozzy for what he's done, let the man relax for his final few years on earth!

Oh the irony as it is a shame that some of these comments are not open minded or respectable. I defend my opinion with the album but age doesn't matter the most when it comes to the musicians themselves besides the music. It always depends to others if the music itself is good or not and we can't be predictable to like or love everything. We don't need to be a "real" fan as we're all real and human to think differently on music but negative behaviour with judgmental comments aren't the answer.
@liametheridge9148
@liametheridge9148 Жыл бұрын
I'm honestly so amazed at some of these comments. Don't get me wrong I disagree with a lot of shit you say but I don't go off like this in your comments as a result, Jesus get over yourselves. If you're gonna insult someone at least make it make sense! I love these videos 🤣 I did also love the cheeky dig at Sharon when you were talking about who has a say on when he retires. I honestly think she's had the majority of a say in pretty much everything he's done since the turn of the millennium. I'll be completely honest, I genuinely hate Patient Number 9. I really don't like Ordinary Man either aside from Under the Graveyard which is a pretty good song. I have also been of the opinion that Ozzy should have retired long ago for years. In fact, as much as I absolutely adore his era of Black Sabbath (13 included, I think that's a solid as fuck album) and love Ozzy's classic material, I have also not remotely enjoyed most things Ozzy has done since the 1990s. Literally since I've been alive (I'm 25) I have not been genuinely excited for any Ozzy Osbourne album. I also am under absolutely no illusions about the nature of how these albums have been churned out over the years and the increasing amount of work it has taken to have them sound passable, nor am I under any illusion of just how false and genuinely sad Ozzy's live performances have been for a good while. I love the guy, he is an icon, I will be bawling my eyes out when he inevitably leaves us, and the world will not be the same without him, but I want him to live out the last few years of his life in peace. As much as I know he probably won't want to admit it, it's time for him to retire. For his own sake Hope you had a great Christmas man, and I hope 2023 treats you well 🤘🤘

here’s the deal….Metal is unique simply because it’s not an age limit. (such as pop and hip hop, which is a young folks game) that rule doesn’t really apply to metal bands…..THAT BEING SAID Ozzy is a fuckkn living legend, he will probably make music until the day he dies…..now; as a fan, i’m more supportive of him retiring because his health is FUCKED. and it’s concerning watching him deteriorate. we get it, it’s METAL AS FUCK to say “fuck everything i’m gonna rock out no matter what” but he’s proved himself…he’s 74, it’s his time to rest.
