Fantastic video. Thanks for sharing. The PSX core is fully done now and the dev has since been adding features that go beyond the original PS1 hardware... video filters, speed-ups, more FPS, etc. All optional but for those who might want it, those features are there. So the PSX core should be in very good shape. The very talented PSX dev (Robert Peip) has been working on it for slightly over a year. I wonder what, if anything, he is going to work on next. The Outrun arcade core may come out this Friday and I'm definitely looking forward to that.

Thanks! really appreciate the kind words, When I picked up the Mister I didnt expect the PSX core to be so close to completion as it is, it really was a pleasant surprise, very exciting to see the cores progressing at such a fast pace, so much hard work done by very passionate and talented people as you mentioned. I feel very lucky to experience the fruits of their labour ! I am especially excited by the Saturn core ! Thanks for heads up on the Outrun Core, I will updating as soon as it comes out ! I've had one for a year and a half now. It's so good I use it all the time which didn't really happen with the RetroPi setup I had which never felt very snappy. Being able to swap it back and forth between my CRT and LCD (the TV's are in rooms other people are using at different times) is so handy.

I am so glad I finally go on board with it, like you I rarely used the Retropi for exactly the same reasons and its probably why I was skeptical to get the Mister! But the Mister is pure class, been using non stop since I picked it up, even for games I have the original PCB ! Cheers for watching mate

Thanks Marcus, you will love the kit, I reckon you will really enjoy tinkering with all the cores too. Imagine all the random point and clicks you will discover 😂😂😂😂 Looking forward to the pickups vid when u get one !

Awesome pick up! im thinking i need to get myself a super gun now to make mine a bit more versatile, as keeping it vertical is underselling it for now! The Mister is a great community right now. ive found it easier to get answers for this, than a Pi4 through jamma. a very enjoyable watch!

I was surprised how easy it is to setup all the cores that i was interested in, loads of videos and helpful people in the community! I still use my supergun loads, you are right its very versatile just hooking it up to a CRT, especially when u have a PVM on its side for vertical games like you do. cheers mate, looking forward to your take on it, and a Gunsmoke high score challenge 😂

Heard loads about the mister and many folk sing its praises, the price is a killer though more so now as you say, ideal for someone like yourself with the arcade itch to scratch

yeah the price is a a major issue, but you do get a lot for the money if you compare it to the analogue systems, and alot of people will fork out for the X8600 and amiga mini when this can do them all , but better. hopefully the price will become more reasonable so it becomes more accessible for everyone to experience it.

Well worth picking up Nick. I plan to get one at some point and have two running in two jamma cabs and my other two original hardware for my favourite games. Atm I’m using retro pi which is ok it has its issues with some games but overall it’s fine for now. Give Terra cresta a go on it and see what score you get 😜

Definitely mate, I am sure you will be very impressed once you check it out for your self, sounds like the perfect setup ! I havent checked out the Terra cresta core yet, I will let you know my score (sounds like another high score challenge 😅) , its not a game I have played much TBH, never played on original hardware only the NES version ! cheers Alex.

Holy Moley look at all that Neo Geo carts very cool Mister nearly purchased one a very good bit of kit I watched MVG showing it off one of if not the best FPGA device out on the market Emulation is getting better but this is the mutts and there is just about zero difference between the original games and this. Very cool share some great gameplay

Wow, seemed to fair really well after you put it through its paces. I’d no idea how fast the arcade gunsmoke ran 😂; the nes version is a snails pace! Fpga is really progressing nicely, a strong leap for being able to preserve some of those old games, and quickly access them for play too. I’ve been playing around with some of the neo geo and Sega cores on my analogue pocket and it’s so impressive what it can do. I suspect someone will work out how to load cores onto a mega sg or super nt if they haven’t already. Enjoy, and I look forward to hearing more about how you get on with it! 😊👍🕹️

Thanks Ed, yeah the arcade version of gunsmoke is fast and furious! I didn’t realise you could get the neogeo core on to the analogue pocket ! That reminds me I pre ordered that, I think I get it sometime next year 🤣🤣🤣 You are probably correct, but not sure if they have enough ram for the ps1 or Saturn cores. Just hope they somehow get the prices down so it’s more accessible.

Nice to see the mister in action, very interesting to see all the different systems installed on there including the Japanese computers which are tricky things to own in original form these days, as we said previously alien syndrome was a favourite of mine too on the x68000, amazing game. The arcade part is looking good, nice to hear the aes or mvs games run perfectly, gunsmoke definitely seemed pretty much identical to me so I could definitely find a use for it, I've been looking at some kind of arcade emulation for ages but can't seem to make it my mind up so this could be it. Couple of questions, is every game available on mame able to run on the mister? I wasn't sure if if it was just a selection of games atm and how about newer games like cave shooters, are they on the mister and have you tried any yet, work OK? A new supergun is pretty much top of my list atm anyway to play my pcbs again, so coupling that and a mister should be a great option for a full arcade experience. Great overview of it all 👍

Hey Craig, Its been amazing to finally get to check out those X68000 games, to have that back in the day would of blown my mind ! The arcade cores are specfic to the PCBS/Games, e.g they developed the CPS2 then you tend to get all the CPS2 games, not all the Mame dumped games have cores yet, especially if the PCBs that have custom chips, there are a few cave shooters already done, i have checked out Guwange and it seems to play really well, and i know loads more are on the way ! Yeah a supergun would be great with the MiSTERcade, but you can just have a normal MiSTer setup without the JAMMA output if you want to play via HDMI. any questions just give me a shout mate, always happy to share what little knowledge I have and help out when i can !
