After 28 years and 2,168 games, the NHL no longer has a team in the 5th largest city in the United States. Within the next 24-48 hours, the sale to Ryan Smith should be finalized and they will officially be on their way to Salt Lake City. So what's next for us Coyotes fans here in the Valley of the Sun?

Can't imagine the emotion of watching that final game. I hope that the passionate response from fans like you can help to grow hockey culture in Arizona even in the absence of your team, so at least some good can come out of this mess. As a Toronto fan, I've been indebted to the Coyotes for inspiring Auston Matthews to become a player, and though I desperately want him to be a lifetime Leaf, I would have been happy to see him finish his career with his childhood team. Fingers crossed you guys get your team back and that remains a possibility. Best wishes.

You really moved people with what you said, man. I’ve never been a hockey fan in my life; never cared for it. I’m just as passionate as you are, though, about the Carolina Panthers. Started with my Papaw and my dad in 95, and my dad and I have been diehard fans until today. I’ve had my fair share of angst with their ownership and their struggles as of late. If it wasn’t already evident, lol, sports fans heard you, and I appreciate your passion. I hope another hockey team comes to y’all soon, and I wish you the best with your channel man ❤

I’ve lived in phoenix since I was born in 2002. That 2012 season was the greatest hockey season I’ve ever had the pleasure of watching. I’ll miss the yotes but I’m gonna move attention to try to get out state to keep the Dbacks around. Hopefully we don’t end up like Oakland where lose all our teams. Hope we get hockey back here in the desert

I cheered for the original Winnipeg Jets, continued to cheer for them as first the Phoenix and then the Arizona Coyotes. When the Atlanta Thrashers became the second Winnipeg Jets, I had two teams to cheer for. And somehow... it does not make this any less gut retching.

As a originally a Winnipegger I never cheered on Phoenix Coyotes, that said I did like Shane Doan. I became more of a Edmonton Oilers fan in the late 1990's early 2000's then a Habs fan, which I still like as a team, but enjoy watching the Jets a lot more at this time. That said the Habs do have some exciting development. Go Jets Go!

I had the same emotions here in Montreal when we lost our baseball team in '04, which also had incompetent ownership which led to its demise. My sister lives in Arizona and frequently went to games and she's crushed to see the team go. Keep hanging in there, I hope you get your team back soon, and that you can still enjoy watching hockey despite this crushing news.

As someone who is a Flyers and Sharks fan, I remember watching the Coyotes season opener back in 2013 and I was blown away by the atmosphere in the stadium. Even though it was on TV, it felt like I was really there ready to cheer on the Yotes. It's sad to see that the team ended up having shitty owners and honestly I hope hockey comes back to the desert sooner rather than later. Plus, I always loved the way the Kachina logo looked. I'm from Toronto and I fully admit I used to be one of those "hockey won't work in the desert" people. Over the years I've been proven wrong over and over when it comes to the fans and the passion. While I still had issues with the Coyotes, my view shifted from "no one wants that there" to "Man I wish these owners would get their shit together". I'm incredibly sad for you guys. You deserved way better than what you got when it comes to all the ownership and arena nonsense. I really wanted to see it work and I hope you don't have to wait too long to get the team back.

As a life long Coyotes fan from British Columbia Canada, I am completely heart broken. I got into hockey because of my older brother, and growing up in a small town, but now living in Vancouver, I wasn't sure which team to pick. My first name in real life is Jeremy, and my brother told me there is a player named Jeremy Roenick, and he also showed me the howl sound that is played when they score at home games. So as a kid, I quickly grew attached to the Coyotes. It was difficult back in the day to watch games due to limited coverage, but I did what I could. Back in 2020 I was finally about to go to my first Coyotes home game with my parents and brother on a trip that included a few days in Nashville (he's a Predators fan) and then a few days in Phoenix, but yeah THAT year happened and we had to cancel, literally a week before we were scheduled to leave. I was able to see a game this year back in February on Valentine's Day, and my brother and I even got on the jumbotron during a break when fans were dancing to music. We also managed to get the Kiss Cam's attention and got our parents on the jumbotron camera, lol. To top it all off, Howler just happened to be in our area so I absolutely had to get a picture with him. The team may have lost that game, but I still had an amazing time. And just like everyone else, I was crying my eyes out watching the final game and howling at each goal. Here's hoping that the Coyotes can be brought back in the future with competent ownership that isn't under AM. He apparently didn't have the money for a multitude of things during his years, so why should I even believe he will get this arena built? Plus he will have to do quite a lot to get my trust back as well as my forgiveness. Coyotes Forever!

From a Long Islander who almost had to watch there favorite team move to Kansas City when I was a kid, the only reason it didn’t work it AZ is because of ownership. It’s not a coincidence the second the isles got good owners they build a beautiful billion dollar arena, and go on 2 back to back ECF runs. I lived in Scottsdale during Covid. I met a whole bunch of people at bars and parties who were my age (22) and they all loved hockey and their coyotes. It really is a sad time. I hope you guys get a team back. Arizona is an absolute beautiful place and I mean that, the entire state has so much variety. And the people are even better. Keep ur head up. Hopefully you get an expansion team at the very least

As a Rangers fan in New Jersey, it sucks that the Coyotes are leaving for Salt Lake City. I remember when the Jets left Winnipeg for Phoenix and thought that it would make no sense. After watching a game when the Rangers were in Phoenix, I was totally impressed with the strong support the Coyotes had. It was difficult watching the highlights from their last game and seeing how the fans had tears in their eyes, young and old. I wish them all the best in Salt Lake City. And if the NHL does return to the Valley of the Sun, I hope that it's not under the control of Alex Meruelo.

There isn't really anything anyone can say to make it better but I do hope you are able to find a way to continue enjoying hockey between now and whenever the NHL returns to Arizona. I feel your last video blew up because of 1. Obviously was popular subject for those that regularly have hockey videos in their recommends, but 2. It was your pure raw emotions, and ability to articulate your frustrations, disappointments, memories, and feelings so well. I was captivated listening to you a couple nights ago, and could feel your pain. Even though I never went through the same kind of emotions, as I was a young child when my Jets moved to Arizona, and I was left with mostly confusion, I could still feel the hurt that you were experiencing. I'm sorry that you and so many passionate fans had to go through this, and years of god awful ownership, and always having to be the butt of every joke from scummy NHL fans who don't understand that it was never for a lack of passion and fans, it was the people at the top the failed, and doesn't seem to care about it. I know you said that you'll likely be done with the NHL, at least for now, but I pray that isn't true. You are so well spoken, and I would love to hear your thoughts moving forward. The Hockey Guy can't carry KZfaq alone. There's always room for more great voices and opinions.

Also, it angers me that the NHL weren't able to make an official announcement before the final game, because right now there's ZERO fan fair or mention from the NHL on their socials. There's nothing to commemorate the fans. It feels like an awkward secret THAT EVERYONE KNOWS but they don't want to talk about it just yet... And by doing that, yesterdays game was just another game to the NHL. Was just another end of a season for one of the 32 teams, and I find that to be incredibly disrespectful. The NHL is playing their own PR game by not talking about it, and then announcing a move after the season is done so they don't have to face the music that they were part of the problem and why a fanbase is having their team ripped away.

It’s just great to see a fan, especially one of a relocating team, pour their heart out on what this means to them. I’ve never experienced a relocation, but just knowing that there are genuine fans that suffer at the end of it all is disheartening. It shows the business side to a game we love. I am curious as to where you go next. If this were me and my team relocated, I may loathe the fact that another city gets my players. But it’s not the players fault. I would cheer for them in their new city because they meant so much to me. I’d like to know what you would do about cheering for another team.

Arizona Coyotes leaving Arizona and going to Salt Lake City is the right move. Owning a professional hockey team like Arizona Coyotes is a business. It's obvious to me that Arizona isn't a place for an NHL hockey team . People in the state of Arizona shouldn't be too up set ,since they have an NFL team ,NBA team ,WNBA team, and a major league baseball team .

I’ve been playing as the Coyotes in NHL 22, I was a senior in high school when that game came out, I still play that franchise save to this day and it was a kinda sad seeing the team move. I wasn’t close to a fan when I started but I guess I’ve become attached to the team in a way. Your video definitely gives a reality check for a lot of people. I don’t think most people realize how this failure falls entirely on ownership. We knew about the vote but we didn’t know about the manipulation against the Coyotes. We knew about ownership not paying rent to the arena but we didn’t know about the guy not paying TAXES. I definitely don’t think people know about hockey booming in Arizona, y’all have high school teams while I live within an hour from Columbus and there’s no high school teams except for ONE in Xenia. All I have to say is I’m sorry the hockey community did not take the situation seriously at all, it would be a completely different story if it were one of the Canadian teams

Im a Rangers fan, I'm not even thinking playoffs. I watched until the end last night, it's so sad seeing this team go. Praying they come back like Meruelo is promising. Man it'll be a long 5 years is really all I can say.

Being from Michigan if any of the Detroit sports teams relocated there would be a huge problem….sure the lions stink but that’s something. It’s fun to go through the history of your franchise and remember yourself in a place during milestones of your beloved franchise, it’s also fun to represent your region through your teams …you have given me a new found perspective of the coyotes now having almost never given them much thought but I had heard Arizonas hockey scene is blowing up…that’s pretty awesome which makes me think now is the exact wrong time to move absolutely heartbreaking, sincerely wish you the best brother. Good luck to the players.

I tuned into the game last night here over in Pennsylvania, unfortunately I did fall asleep and didn't catch the end, but I did rewatch the end of the game. Was definitely a bittersweet moment, but I'm glad they went out with a nice win.

SJ Sharks fan and Utah local, I feel for you Coyotes fans. It sucks to see the team get screwed over the way they did but I know I plan on supporting them in their new version hardcore! I know how excited this area is for the NHL.

Sending honest love my dude. I have multiple Yotes fans friends, and it honestly hurts to have this kind of joy stripped from them, just as it was looking incredibly promising. I guess it's just sports... but it means so much to so many. Hurt to see those young fans in jerseys saying goodbye to their team. Sorry to all Yotes fans.

Much love from the 6 beard. The Yotes have been my 2nd team to root for since my young days of playing with Arizona and the Leafs all the way back to NHL 06 on my PS2. Terrible loss for the state. Hopefully AM34 and Matty Knies put on a good show for the Arizona hockey fans this playoffs. 🍁

Rangers fan hear. I grew up with the coyotes, and it’s just sad to see the franchise go. My first nhl game was versus the Coyotes, and I have always loved watching them when I have the chance. It’s become heart breaking to see them go I. I still can’t fathom it. I was crying after the game. Still so sad. ❤😭

I've been a Calgary Flame in Utah for 25+ years and excited, but it will be weird to have 2 favorite teams! I'd be amazed to be able to finally see the Flames against my new hometown team! Craziness! All we've had are the Jazz, so this will be super awesome. But unfortunately it's coming from tearing apart an established fanbase's team which is always a heartbreaker. Hope the Coyotes come back in the near future. It was a great last game and enjoyed seeing your guys' fanbase come together for it. Stay strong!

thanks for putting into words a lot of the things i have been feeling for…let’s be honest, 20 years. but especially this last week. i’ve been filled with lots of strong, often contradictory emotions. the atmosphere at mullett last night will be something i remember forever. i am deeply angry at alex meruelo (and steve ellman, and andrew barroway, and and and) but in spite of my anger for the man, i love this sport and community a thousand times more than i hate alex meruelo. i would strongly PREFER that he not get another kick at the can. but if he does, i cannot delude myself into thinking that i will not be ALL IN again, immediately, from the day we even get a sniff of things spinning back up thanks again for these videos dude. yotes forever.
