My wife and I had our first date there, celebrated our successes and lamented our failures there and held our wedding dinner there. We befriended and fell in love with Floyd’s cooking and with most of the staff. And we grieved when the restaurant closed in late 2010. We followed Floyd to North End grill and eventually to Paowalla. And then we grieved Floyd’s passing that first week of lock down. Thanks Danny for sharing this story and Tim for hosting Danny.

This was very cathartic for me. I have had a few businesses I closed. They were also tangled up with family. Lots of years of guilt just washed away. They lived their time and today I move forward.

Hearing Danny talk about the chef dying during Covid really hits home. I don’t know how my father and I are even alive. We’ve been going through hell for three years now 💫 Apparently we both had a dormant auto immune disease that was massively triggered by long Covid. The government has done absolutely nothing for special cases like ours.
