Hey Rich. Excited to see what’s next. I think after the end of my 5e campaign I’m either going to run a Wild West Werewolf game or Dark Ages Vampire.

I've been carrying an idea around for a story for many years now, I don't know if it is viable and have never really talked to anyone about it. If you can stimulate me to the point where I might develop it you will have succeeded.

First thing I would say is, share it. Here. Out there. Anywhere. Get feedback on it, and not in the critique sense. Let others simply digest it and offer some cool points that you can springboard off of. I spent nearly 2 decades holding "my original ideas" close to the vest. It was a huge mistake. 1) There is no original idea. 2) Everyone is too busy fleshing out their own ideas. They don't have the time to steal yours. 3) See #1 Good luck and hope I can continue to provide fuel!

@@AllThingsLich Thanks, the idea is fairly simple at the moment but I'll give you the basics. It's a crossover Fantasy/Detective story but the (hopefully) original part is that in this world that magic only works on Organic materials that have lived and therefore all metals etc are banned by the ruling Matriarchal Priesthood. The detective is a misanthropic but ultimately successful Man who lost his wife to something the priesthood did and the story is a case where he is called in to solve a murder which used a metal dagger as the weapon, the metal is the problem as normal methods (in this world) would extensively use magic to solve the case which will not work here.

@@Para2normal really like the magic limitation and the overall Dresden Files sort of feel it gives me. Flesh some stuff out and let's run with it! I'll help as you send along stuff (if you'd like). Thanks

I played 1 year of dnd 5e and had enough of it. The hobby has a really big problem, one game holds 75 percent of the market share. It's not great for the tabletop rpg community in general. I'll stick around for this new direction, good luck :) I really love art books.

Thank you. I'm a huge fan of art books myself. The channel still has loads of 5E D&D, but I'm exploring avenues beyond just D&D to become "better" at D&D
