After a short introduction with pictures of how the so far unused attic became a layout room, the video covers a first layout visit with commentary.

Waw!!! Unbelievable beautiful! 1920-1930, I also finds the most interesting periode for model trains. It has to do withe the romance of the steam locomotive. Really well done this impressive layout. I look forwards to see more, because your video's are for me (and I presume a lot more modeltrainers) a source of information especially for this very interesting period. Thank you for sharing.

A wonderful introduction to your very atmospheric layout, Alex, thank you. I look towards travelling forwards in time in your subsequent videos.

HI X, I enjoyed your video & explanations building your BBM. Your "neat " and precise way to build is an example. Success !

You had me thinking for a minute with the dung comment. I know a lot of modelers who work for great realism in visual and audio modeling, so why not in smell? Ha ha. Thanks for a great video. I look forward to seeing more.

That´s a good point! I could store some lumps of coal and used grease in a corner of the attic to intensify the experience... but seriously it is a fascinating idea to add that dimension to our miniature worlds...

Wow, what a nice project! I wish you good luck and will be following your progress. My dream is to start a NMBS (Belgian) Lay-out for my steam - era - material.

Hi Alex, yes, the ceiling to layout angle, at 33deg, would impact on usable area. I guess it’s a case of striking a balance between the prototype and space available, however 25m is a lot of head scratching to make it acceptable. Was there a roundhouse at the turntable, maybe a facade could work. Thanks for a great video
@BBM1930s2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, yes your idea is exactly what I plan to do for concealing the wedge there. The partially closed front facade of a roundhouse will hopefully do the job.

Hallo Alex, tolles anlage! Hello Alex, awesome layout! Can you show us how you program the trains and their decoders to run as smoothly as yours? And which trains are they, Brawa maybe?
@BBM1930s3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Niels! Making a video about me programming the ESU decoders in front of the computer and testing repeatedly the locomotive on the test track is going to be probably tedious... I will think about another way to show how to program decoders to get prototypical smooth running features.

Beautiful layout. What turntable do you have?
@BBM1930s3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! It's the Roco 42615 turntable.

Alex, I very much enjoy all of your videos - I must say though that I much prefer your commentary to musical accompaniment :)

Thanks Neil...! Meanwhile it has proven to be the only way to adress the video content to my german, italian and rest of the world friends by placing written comments. It's too much work to do three language versions, I prefer to make progress on the layout...

10:55 Hey Alex. Was ist das für ein Entkupplungshaken? Oder hast du den selber gemacht?
@BBM1930s3 жыл бұрын
@anotherwolff36503 жыл бұрын
