Every verse of the Bible contains (at least) 3 meanings. Not all are known to us today, but all are true. The first is the contextual. What did this verse mean to the people who first heard it at the time it was written? What was it saying about that culture at that time? We may not know this one, but it is impactful and true nonetheless. The second is revelatory. What does this reveal about the character and nature of God? The third is an eternal statement. What should we as Christians gleam from this about our mission here on earth? When I learned this is immediately gave the Bible more depth to me, and every verse had more impact.

Thankfully, the Bible isn’t the only way to know about Jesus; many hostile and skeptical historians of that time confirmed much of what we know about Him from the Bible.

@@pearlzsz There are many Christians who don’t get more hung up on sexual orientation than more important messages in Scripture. It’s fine to think it’s wrong, it’s bizarre to obsess over it. A Christian who tolerates gay people but loves his neighbor is one million times better than an “Evangelical” who’s “theological conservative” who is generally unkind and cruel to others.

@@fighterofthenightman1057 The LGBTQIA+ community was made by the devil, it's more then sexual orientation, it's worshipping the devil. I think it is the biggest threat to Christianity in this day and age. Therefore we should fight against it, for we should fight against the devil.

ESV or NASB are good starting Bibles, though my personal favorite is still the KJV. I think there's a connection between music, the major scale, the math behind music, and God and Creation. God created the world in seven days. The intervals of the major scale are 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 The major scale and modern day music and scales were created in the churches and seminaries back in the middle ages. There's a connection beween music and creation, the 7 days, the circle of fifths, the endless cycle of the universe. It's like creation and us and the universe is the song of God. Something, I dont know.

How can it be literal and not metaphorical when Jesus said at the last supper the bread was his body? Would that not be cannibalism? Therefore shouldn't we take his words metaphorically, meaning that he blessed the bread, therefore the bread became as his human body?

Presbyterians believe that Jesus is in the bread and wine spiritually, not symbolically nor physically

He says do this In remembrance of me. Meaning the remembrance of his sacrifice, not eating his literal body.

I suggest John 6:51-57 („I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat. Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.“) and 1Cor 11:26-29 („For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord‘s death till he come. Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord‘s body.“) are answering your questions sufficiently. 😌
