under 50 mil, this will be a fiasco worth remembering....

A very steady opening between 40-50 million then a very steep 68% drop-off in it’s second weekend and. The reviews/word-of-mouth will not be kind to it. Green Lantern had a decent 53 million opening weekend due to the curiosity factor but it suffered from poor reviews and bad word-of-mouth which ultimately killed its profitability for the studio. Granted Venom is likely cheaper than Green Lantern but even then what will be telling enough will be it’s legs I don’t see a scenario in which Sony can call Venom a ‘win’. I foresee a modest opening weekend followed by disastrous declines afterwards.

We have enough time but this is Batman, the crown Jewel of DC. This first Batman movie better knock it out of the ballpark.
