For a split second when he first introduces the old lady, watch for the ‘deliberate’ genius where they superimpose the face of the lady. It’s these little touches that make it so funny to make it look like pear tree productions make mistakes. Brilliant!

My grandma made parts for spitfires an guns an ammo

My grandmother was the first female progress chaser in the British aviation industry, it was her job to travel between all of the factories making parts for Spitfires and iron out bottlenecks in production, she may have even met your grandma! Her husband, my grandfather, was no softy though, he was a Desert Rat and fought in North Africa, Italy and Northwest Europe. I'm proud of them both!

@@howdj, ironically, for a lot of women who entered the workforce during the war it WAS very exciting. I know that my grandmother mourned the responsibility and independence that working for Vickers Supermarine gave her during the war years. She became a mother and a housewife afterwards and felt that she had ceased to be important as a mere homemaker in an austere 1950’s Britain.

Like the present incumbents of power do,? Legislating to remove the right of British citizens to peaceful protest, paid holiday, free health care. Removing safety and pollution legislation to make it easier for bosses to make more money ( shit in the rivers) and turning us into nation of paupers whilst the rich get richer?
