Notice that military genius, Manstein’s offensive to relieve Stalingrad didn’t even register on this map. Once the encirclement happened there was no militarily sensible way to relieve the pocket and extract 6th army. There’s a solid argument to be made that instead of launching the relief attack, that the best, if heartless, strategy would have been to redeploy those divisions to blunt the Soviet offensives against the Italian and Hungarian armies on the Northern flank of the southern front. It was the failure of these armies that lost Germany control of Kursk and Kharkov and by way of out maneuvering the Axis forces, losing control of the crucial city of Rostov on the Don.

Bruhh cant take Stalingrad completely not even Baku, Hitler is literally trapped to get nothing and the cut isnt even worth it. Soviets just used the Tehran support lines also to use British Lend Lease stop. Yk that those casualties meant alot to overturn the WW2 in Eastern front. Btw a bridge left open that allows them to cross the Don River and easily comes toward the hill and soon main centre of Stalingrad with contact of Volga River as enormous shipping line. Hitler wanted to cut it as Soviets even able to have million of tonnes stuff, the main objective is to try use the oilfields or maintain the Caucasus area under Axis hands for a long time. You can interpret that the more Germans got closer the more will they be easily trapped in Operation Uranus and Soviets offensives.

А потери РККА значит соответствуют действительности? "Первая и последняя попытка установить масштабы наших потерь в Сталинградской битве была предпринята в начале 1960-х гг. Евгений Вучетич хотел, чтобы на Мамаевом кургане были выбиты имена всех солдат и офицеров погибших в Сталинградскую битву. Он думал, что это в принципе возможно, и попросил меня составить полный список. Я охотно взялся помочь, обком освободил меня от всей другой работы. Кинулся в Подольский архив, в Бюро потерь Генштаба Минобороны. Генерал-майор, руководивший тогда этим Бюро, рассказал, что такую задачу им уже ставил секретарь ЦК Козлов. После года работы он вызвал генерала и спросил о результатах. Когда узнал, что насчитали уже 2 млн . погибших, а работы еще на много месяцев, сказал: "Хватит!". И работу прекратили." - бывший директор Музея обороны Царицына - Сталинграда Андрей Михайлович Бородин

@@Mentol_ а может быть Кривошеев просто такой же махинатор, сказочник и балабол, как и остальные клоуны из минобороны, вроде Конашенкова, и многократно занизил потери РККА, не?) Он там в своём "гриф секретности снят" много чего интересного и разоблачающего высчитал. Якобы, суммарные потери РККА за 1941-1945 составили 8.6 миллионов при призыве 34.4 миллиона, то есть 25%. Но при всем при этом по стране в каждой области, в каждой деревне, в каждом селе, в каждой республике приведена статистика в Книгах Памяти, согласно которой в среднем 50% от мобилизованных не вернулось с фронта. То есть каждый второй. Как интересно мог такой феномен произойти, что в каждой области потери составили 50%, а у Конашенкова суммарные потери по стране 25%?🤔 И что же это получается, директор музея обороны Сталинградского, чьи слова выше приведены, выдумал свою историю про млн погибших? Мда уж, каким же зашоренным ватником нужно быть, чтобы цифрам минобороны и кривошеева верить, хз прям...

The Soviets never expected an attack in the South They thought the Germans would attack Moscow Most of their divisions were in the outskirts of Moscow And the Soviets were exhausted from the surprise invasion

@@eancloud3529 well, the russians tried to liberate ukraine but went wrong and a lot of their troops got eincircled wich brang a begin to operation bluecase... The germans were able to take the caucasus (not for long) till they reached stalingrad
