What are you talking about? They had so many battles, there's a lot of good ones. It's not just europe they ravaged. Mongols had heaps of great battles and sieges you can tell about, even the way Genghis used his tent's colour to signal the garrison of said cities of their doom. Ie. 1st day Genghis used a white tent, meaning the garrison could walk out freely, second day I can't remember but on the last day it was black and everyone would die. This even caused fights to happen with the people inside of these cities as they fought for whether they should just surrender or not. Eventually the ones who fought for surrender won and let the mongols in. They looked at the massacre and killed everyone inside as they couldn't trust people who killed their own. Also how they used the citizens of towns the garrisons defended to assault the cities they fled from.

Finns sure were rich enough, thanks to trading their own goods that northern wilderness and thousands of lakes provided. During the 11th century and later on, Finns somehow regressed, or other nations went forward in technology and economics. (which make Finland look like backwater)

the way i understand it is that one of the vikings primary trade goods (except for slaves) was pelts from the deep woods of finland, and they got those pelts primarily from finnish hunters and traders. no good in raiding and killing the people that provide you with your most priced trading goods. and from the finn perspective, the vikings could provide them with all kinds of stuff that they could never get on their own, so i believe there was a symbiotic relationship going on there for the most part that had grown gradually for a long time.
