Toby Preston You honestly believe that the concepts behind those songs hadn't formed throughout his early lifespan? Generally songs are always brewing within these types of people. They just take a little beating to get into adulthood.
@BlindWillieJackson10 жыл бұрын
vaporfarts I'm referring to the leaps they made in the sophistication of their music & songwriting. Listen to "Love Me Do" then the ending of Abbey Road & that's what I'm talking about.

George Martin's musical expertise helped fill the gaps between the Beatles' raw talent and the sound they wanted to achieve. Most of the Beatles' orchestral arrangements and instrumentation (as well as frequent keyboard parts on the early records) were written or performed by Martin in collaboration with the band Tim Parker

Hannu Mäkynen Yeah, agreed, there are only a minority of bands that just have that "magic" and are levels above the others to show their vast superiority. I read this book a while ago: "With a Little Help from My Friends: The Making of Sgt. Pepper" -- amzn.to/1J6ZZ1V -- it's a technical aspect of how they made this album which is great from beginning to when the needle returns.

Between what these guys were doing musically, and what Brian Wilson was doing with the Beach Boys sound, and a few other out of the box musicians, music would never be the same after the mid 60's. I wish I had been born a few years earlier, and been able to experience it first hand, instead of discovering it later. I was born in '64, right in the middle of it all. Wonderful sounds!

Think I know where you are coming from. Was born in 1952, feel so lucky to have experienced this era of music. Beatles, Stones, Kinks and the whole british wave of bands was amazing. Saw Hendrix in 1968 and that seemed to change everything. Never saw the Beatles, a little too young.

The interplay and timing of John's acoustic picking, and his lead vocal, with the one-by-one layering of the background vocals, Paul's bass, Ringo's drumming, George's electric guitar lead, and the piano is a collaboration of genius. That collaboration of a variety of vocal and instrumental creativity and talent, that can be heard on dozens of equally great Beatles songs, is what set them apart from all others in pop/rock music, IMO. They weren't the loudest and they weren't the flashiest (thankfully on both accounts); but their synergy created the best music of my generation, and again IMO nobody has come close to them since.
@JonathanVanHornsoundjon9 жыл бұрын
Well put regarding the interplay of musical and vocal timing interplays...this song helped me realize why people say Chris Cornell, and to a lesser degree all of Soundgarden, were heavily influenced by the Beatles.

Dear Prudence, open up your eyes, look around round. Look round around round. Look around. We are literally just life looking around. This fact should make us love one another and live in heaven on earth but it doesn't, we have lost the way. Greed has poisoned mens souls. The truth relating to conscious life can be understood now and that makes it the ultimate truth, that will transform mankind and the world. A new era of love peace and understanding is ready for those who want it. If the truth means something to you, Google *_Truth contest_* and check the truth for yourself. Its the only way to turn this world right side up. Come out to play Sincerely yours, The spirit of truth.

They were not of this earth!!!!! If Perfection ever existed in a group it was these guys. How is it humanly possible to write SO MANY CLASSIC SONGS?. They were "touched". Every conceivable characteristic & nuance of an EXTRAORDINARY MUSICAL PHENOMENON was present in The Beatles: Great Image, Fantastic Looks, Intelligence, Articulate, Qwerky, Original, Different. Stylish, Charisma and charm you couldn't touch, Artistic, Personalities that were so completely individual, yet as group complimented each other perfectly. And if this wasn't enough fairly humble about their achievements and never forgot where they came from. Even the greatest mind in Pop Music marketing today couldn't even begin to dream about putting together a group like them.

The main reasons this band split?, women and John and Paul big egos.

John shoved Yoko down the other 3's throats. He was a coward to just man up and quit so he used Yoko as a weapon. He knew she was a deal breaker being in the studio and he loved it.....because he was a coward. PS.....I love John

Robert Farawell It had nothing to do with a woman... It had everything to do with pressure, expectations, finances, and ownership of the Beatles as a product. Imagine having a marriage with 4 huge personalities and see how long it lasts in that regard alone... Now imagine being told that all the songs you were writing don't even belong to you, because the record company owns them. They were basically kids when they started. The free market world broke up the Beatles ("Its only a Northern [records] song). We were lucky to get the nearly 10 years we did get. Remember the good times, the love, and the lessons. They were only human after all.

Robert Farawell Yoko had very little to do with it. Linda Eastman was more of an influence than Yoko as to their breakup. Mostly, they had had enough of each other.
