Now this is a man that loves his wife/refuses to compromise his integrity just to get laid....lol Lingyi does in fact love Shiyi. He never wanted to have multiple wives. He's living the life that his mother chose for him/he's been miserable every since. She forced him to take in concubines despite his objection/because of her actions all of his concubines have suffered from loneliness. Amber is pitiful indeed but I have to respect her for trying to sacrifice herself so that she doesn't hurt Shiyi. She should've told her what Madame Luo ordered her to do. She was put in an impossible situation by Madame Luo but she should've asked for help. Shiyi has treated her/Dongqing like family. She would do anything for them.
