An interesting fact that you missed: according to Horikoshi, the "gears" that we see on the shoulders of his hero outfit are padded. That's because he doesn't want people to get hurt by his "hardening" quirk as he rescues them. Kirishima is a lot more careful and caring that we give him credit for.

Jupiter Getting something that is resistant to his quirk would only diminish his quirks ability to adapt to damage. I get what you mean but I think it’s more impractical in his situation to prevent taking damage when that makes him stronger in the long run.

That's also what his sleeves are for. They're more for when he might need to rescue somebody and carry them instead of when he's fighting a villain.

By the way, Hardening is based in reality: The uppermost part of your skin is the _Stratum Corneum._ A protective layer made of keratinized cells. Keratin being the protein that also makes up your nails and hair as well as animal horns, antlers and hooves. Hardening merely overproduces keratin in Kirishima's stratum corneum to undergo superhero levels of cornification.

My favorite is the guy based off Kinnikuman , solely for the reference of Kinnikuman. Wish he acted a little more like Suguru, or at least had similar techniques. god I loved Suguru, he was such an unorthodox hero for the time, and still is, you never'll see a Hero that runs away from most of his fights due to sheer cowardice, only to be encouraged by the sacrifice of his friends to enter the ring.

The evolution of Kirishima is truly beautiful. From insecure young boy to brave and selfless young man. Even Rappa showed respect to Kirishima after he jumped in front of his fists to protect gum. That is the sign of a true man.

Bakugo and Kirishima act as foils for each other in both backstory and offensive capability. Bakugo has the capability to attack from long range, forcing his opponents and others away. Kirishima’s Hardening demands close combat, forcing him to confront his own inhibitions. Bakugo was hyper-confident to a fault, to the point where he bullied others as a desire to stand out. Kirishima had such a lack of confidence that it almost resulted in the deaths of his classmates. By reducing these emotional walls over the course of the story, each has become stronger as a result, and have reached both a high status in the eyes of their peers and the eyes of the fans. Additionally, the fact they are canonical gym partners means their growth is intrinsically tied to each other, to such a point where Kirishima was the only one Bakugo would trust to catch him during the rescue arc. These items of proof, along with others, are reason enough to prove this is one of the thematically best and most logical ships in the franchise, and should it be made canon would elevate both as more fully realized characters. Not exactly. That guy had a Quirk more similar to Moonfish from the Training camp arc, albeit that mook was able to protrude blades from anywhere on his body, not just his teeth, but in exchange (and probably due to lack of training) the blades weren't all that long.

I really like how we get to see vulnerable men in My Hero Academia. Men have insecurities, men have emotions, men cry sometimes, because they're human. And this show displays that fact so well. Kirishima, the lovely optimistic guy who cares about all of his classmates and respects them, the guy who supports everyone and shows them how great they are, the guy with a quirk that makes him literally bulletproof. THAT SAME GUY, has so many insecurities that he almost gave on his biggest dream, meaning he could've missed out on this amazing future and his new friends. I am so happy about the choices Horikoshi made for Kirishima's arc and backstory. It's extremely inspirational and admiring. Kirishima is BY FAR my favourite character in MHA.

This. This is why i fucking respect Kirishima with a passion and look up to him as one of my idols. His view of Manliness is the exact same as mine. He isnt afraid to cry, he isnt scared to show weakness, he isnt afraid to break the rules if its for the greater good. Kiri is an amazing and respectable guy. I feel lucky to have a character like him to look up to.

His move is actually called "Red Gauntlet". It was translated wrongly in the anime because of the Japanese pronunciation.
