You're actually spot on with sonic mania being a "32bit game". The whole idea was an "what if sega did a sega saturn 2D sonic?", and the game respects pretty much all the limits and strengths of the sega saturn system.

Shadow dancer has always been my favourite shinobi game. Setting your dog on people is a brilliant mechanic that is used really well. “Go on boy, go bite the bad guys”, brilliant.

In no way is Ys V the worst of the Ys series. That honor goes to Ys Strategy for the DS, which was only released in Japan and Europe. Just look at the gameplay footage online to see what I mean exactly. ;) The European version also suffers from bad translation with tons of typos. As for the Sonic series: Sonic's Schoolhouse for PC, anyone?

I've always preferred crash 2 to Warped, both are amazing but I prefer Crash 2's larger amount of traditional platforming focused levels, warped has just a few too many gimmicky feeling vehicular levels for my liking.

The sound for collecting stuff in that bad Crash Bandicoot game is the same exact sound for collecting stuff in The Simpsons Hit and Run! :p

Definitely do the best and worse of the Dark Souls and Resident Evil series.

Nice video, but I think it would be more interesting if it were the best and worst from the same original formula. As in The best and worst of the original style Crash (Crash 1, 2, 3, Wrath of Cortex and any others that have the same gameplay as them), The best and worst of classic sonic, the Best and worst of traditional (Non-spinoff) Animal Crossing. (But there were a few like Bomberman and Shinobi which went with original-ish formula which was cool) Its easy to point out a game in the series that strayed too far from the originals that is bad, but it would be more interesting to see which games were the best and worst within the same formula/gameplay style. On the other hand it would be cool to series about the best spinoff games. (Which I think you did already so thumbs up!)

The NES mini games in Animal Crossing was also why the Gamecube version is my favorite.

While I had a hard time getting into the Sonic 3 special stages when I was 13. But, unlike the first two games I have grown to enjoy and master the special stages with age. These days, I can obtain all seven chaos emeralds before I reach Carnival Night zone when I play Sonic 3 these days.

The only thing I found myself hating about Mind Over Mutant was their decision to do every single cutscene in a different animation style. Like there's a South Park cutscene, an anime cutscene, it's just so weird and jarring, I remember always being so distracted by it I can't even tell you what any of the cutscenes were about.

Hello Game Sack! This is a really good episode and like other said, there are many more game series that should make to another episode and even more. Speaking of game series, I wonder if something like this could make an episode, and that is 'which one to start with (if you never play any of them in a series)'. Of course, you can start from the very first one to the end, but for some game series, especially the older ones, the first one might be a bit difficult to begin with. For example, metroid (NES) does not have a map, so you have to memorize the locations or draw a map yourself. And of course, 'which final fantasy game to start with' is also a frequently asked question. So something like that. Anyway, thanks for the awesome videos.

Revenge of Shinobi on Genesis is probably one of my most fondly remembered 16-bit games.
