I feel like a lot of people see these games as running slow, bu 60-100 fps to me, is absolute perfection. It feels like overkill to me to go higher than 120.

Nothing wrong with wanting 120fps, but on a budget gaming laptop with a 1650? yeah 120 is extremely overkill for expectations. 60 is actually pretty great for the price point.

Glad they listened to the consumer and give us 2 sodimm slot back. I owned a 2018 Ideapad "gaming laptop" (i5 8300H/GTX1050 with 4gb gddr5) and it would've been a perfect budget gaming laptop but soldered on 4gb ram really made me seethe to this day

I have this one whit 4600h/2 so dim slots come whit 8gb ram dual i put 16gb 3200mhz/512gb and 1650ti. Great laptop all games pushing full but batery is very weak only 3/4 hours. Acer nitro 5 whit same specs go to 8hours. But Laptop is beast love it.

i advice Nitro 5 from acer, i5 9k+ 16gb of ram, 512 ssd, RTX2060 and what is most important- 1 m2 slot and one HDD slot, memory also upgradable to 32 gigs. Price - 980 euro. Works like a charm, IPS display at 120 hz. Good stuff

i mean, running ps3 / heavy emulators is probably gonna be the only way to bottleneck the CPU with a gtx 1650, since in basicacally everything else the graphics card is gonna be the bottleneck

Thank you for a real benchmark !!! I’m about to get the 2022 version with the 3050 but cpu throttling was my main concern. I had a tuf a15 that thing was bottlenecking my 2060 due to the heat!!

Bought this laptop 2 months ago. I had hinge issue and there was a clicking sound everytime I closed the lid. Created an e-service ticket, and lenovo team contacted me after four days. Unfortunately there was no service centre in our state, but they assured that a technician would be send to my house. I was skeptical at first. But to my astonishment, they really did send a repair tech from a service centre 400+kms from our district. Hinge bolt was loosened, and issue is now resolved. This laptop really performs well. The only game I play is Dota and the thermal is great (51-53°c max when gaming even for hours. Its winter now so it hovers at 46-48°c). The only con is the battery backup, which is not that bad either.

Lenovo has really been killing it with the good quality budget offerings. I recently bought a Legion 5 laptop with a 1650ti and Ryzen 4600H for 600 at Walmart, and I've been really impressed with the performance and quality for the price.

I know I'm a bit late but thank you so much, I'm a highschool student. I've been looking for a decent laptop that I can do schoolwork on, make games with Unity, and play games. I've been having a really hard time finding one that suits my needs and is in my price range. You seem to have solved my issues in finding one though, this laptop is exactly what I need.

I have had mine for almost a year now. It has 4600H, 1650ti, 16gb ram, 60Hz screen. I got similar results on time spy, around 3700 graphics and 6650 cpu, 3950 total. The screen is not great, but I don't mind, I use another one. Also mine gets a little hot, might need a repaste at some point. I'd buy at that price, add more ram and be happy about it.

I have the 2022 model of this laptop with a 3050 Ti (85 W) and Ryzen 5 6600H, it's played everything I've tried as of yet. It comes with the faster DDR5 4800Mhz RAM too, I added another 8GB. in the sale I paid only £550 ($700) and less than £20 for the extra RAM. I would get the 2022 model if you can because the HDMI is connected directly to the dGPU bypassing optimus. Also you can use Nahimic to tune the speakers and add bass to make the speakers sound waaaayy better. The only let down for me if I had to pick one would be the screen but it's serviceable for sure after a little tweaking in AMD Radeon software and I use the laptop with an external monitor anyways and they have to skimp somewhere to get it at the price it is.

I guess we can compare fringe features that enthusiasts care about, there's an argument there, but at the end of the day this could have a GTX690 from 2014 in it and the bottom line is always going to be fps.

This one is almost identical to mine. I picked up mine about 3 months ago for the same price. The main different are 6 core 12 thread vs 8 core 18 thread and Ryzen 7 instead of 5.

This makes my purchase pretty good. Their are zero Lenovo Legion 5 emulator test videos. This pretty much matches what I’m getting (11800H 8 core 12 thread / RTX 3060 6gb) what you threw at it with 1080p (my monitor going to be 144hz) is a safe bet I’ll gain 20+30 fps on what’s shown minus Cyberpunk (im not interested in cyberpunk)

Benchmarking it with 16GB in single-channel mode, and 8GB in dual-channel mode would be interesting. Depending on the game or application, the bottleneck may move based on quantity of RAM vs. speed of RAM.

I recommend waiting for an acer nitro 5 to go on sale. You can get one with an rtx 2060 and an i5, with a 144hz screen for only $650. It can do high to ultra settings but runs hot.

Dell G5 5505 SE is 750 and features a 5600m GPU with a 4600h CPU with 8 GB of RAM. I upgraded the RAM and SSD to 16 gb and 1 tb using the other slot available for the storage while switching out my RAM altogether.

I got mine a few months ago with the 4600H and a 1650ti, 8GB 3200MHz + 256GB ssd + 1TB hdd for $600 and change. Upgraded the RAM for $50. Solid as can be. Don't be looking around for that kind of a deal though, I work for a company that provided me a code that discounted an already discounted price directly from Lenovo's website. I do wish it had whatever the mobile equivalent of the Radeon card instead of the 1650... 5600M I guess? I just prefer the AMD settings and features over Nvidia's.

I'm about to buy one too with pretty much the same specs as yours. Compared to the 5500H gameplay in the video, do you get the similar performance or atleast close with the 4600H. I've read that the jump is not that huge from 4000 series to 5000, but I'm worried it'll effect in the long run.

there is that option at Lenovo. Pay $100 for a panel upgrade, but you'll have to purchase the more expensive processor in order for Lenovo (or HP) to sell you that upgraded panel. get with the program /s

I picked one of these up based on the link you posted, and the fact that Amazon was offering $100 gift card if I signed up for their credit card. I try to play whatever will run on it directly, but I figured it would be perfect for remotely streaming my Steam Library for anything it can’t run. Basically, I have a sweet gaming desktop already and this was a nice, cheap solution for me to play on the couch while watching TV with the wife. I was planning to get a Steam Deck for that, but I didn’t feel like waiting, and this should actually be better, since it’s likely an upgrade from the integrated graphics of the Steam Deck-even though that’s gonna be the latest RDNA architecture. I’m probably still gonna get a Steam Deck when they’re released, because I think the portability and built-in controls will be better for my couch gaming experience, but until then this is going to be a fun laptop to fiddle around with. I was planning to crack it open and upgrade the RAM and storage, but other than it running out of room rather quickly with a 256 GB SSD, I’m not sure if any of the games it’ll run will even benefit from additional RAM. Then again, going from single to dual channel mode might give the performance a little bump, but I’m pretty sure the bottle neck on this thing is gonna be the GPU.

I managed to snag one of these up for $350 with a wireless Logitech G305 mouse and a mousepad. Didn't come with the accessory bag but for half the price on Amazon, I'm sure I can find some standoff screws for pretty cheap. I also upgraded the Ram with 32Gb Team 3200Mhz CL16

Hi, thanks for the review on this. I am seriously considering buying one. I'm wondering about the ssd, are you saying it has ports for two different ssd? If so is there any performance boost to that? Also really wondering if it will play the new Back 4 Blood game? That's a title I would really like to play.

Good video, however the laptop does not come with a Mounting screw for the m.2 SSD, its the one used to lift up the SSD. You have to buy that one separately.

This is too good to be true, ive had older lenovo ideapad laptops and it sucks, it lags alot with just after a few months of moderate use. Im skeptical of this new ideapad laptop. Ive switched to the moderately old thinkpad line of laptops because of it.

Hah I have the 2020 version of that :D Am using the ryzen 7 4800h and the gtx 1650 its a great laptop tho sadly cant play warzone at steady 60fps but yeah i mainly play light-medium games like rimworld and war thunder, still a great laptop Gonna love the new cooling solution they did its like his older brother (Legion)

ive got one similar to this with ryzen 7 4800h and 60 hz screen for me its good cause it can handle anything at 60

This laptop is a great bang for the buck. But once again the temperatures are neglected in the factory. I guess CPU undervolting would do.

I would have preferred Lenovo but I got the HP one for $599 @ Microcenter. Had more storage out of the box and with the money I saved I added another 1tb ssd amd 2x8gb 3200mhz crucial ram

Too bad the manufacturers void your warranty even for something as simple as upgrading RAM or installing an additional sata III drive. I get the concern of a manufacturer, but the process of sending the laptop to an authorized repair shop and pray that you'll see the product in the next 4 weeks, AT LEAST, for a HDD upgrade is just too tedious....or at least that's how it is in good old Eastern Europe. Awesome video nonetheless
