Majkl shows us in this video how to make Čevapčiči, the frilled kebab that originates from the Balkans. In this video Majkl also shows us how to make a simple version of PITA bread that is essential to taste the authentic version of Čevapčiči from the Balkans. Finally, depending on the region in the Balkans, the Čevapčiči is served with a special gravy. Some regions use Ajvar, and others use what is called kajmak. Majkl shows us how to make a kajmak at home that resembles the real kajmak that is produced in the Balkans.
All in all, this is a very simple recipe, yet extremely good and addictive.
Ingredients for 6 people:
Čevapčiči ingredients:
1,5 kg of ground meat (beef belly, fine grind)
350 ml of cold water
8 garlic cloves
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 tablespoon of salt
Easy Pita bread ingredients:
1 kg of flour
750 gr of white yogurt
1 spoon of baking powder
1 tablespoon of salt
Kajmak ingredients:
250 gr of mascarpone
200 gr of Balkan cheese (feta cheese for example)
2 tablespoons of white yogurt
