After the task change to full chains, there is less need to farm Tasks from Mystery Nodes / Mysterious Strangers. However, sometimes you may still want to get a new tsk chain started, so here are the best ways to do so! The best zones, bounties, comps, and parties to get new tasks!

Just a little extra tip for people who needs. If ur gonna go for lots of tasks farming mysterious stranger tends to give tasks to ur party first so if ur farm comp has no tasks to do or if ur already have thoose tasks basically if ur farm team can not get tasks anymore ull guarantee the task u want from mysterious stranger.

You can also speed up farming by removing Diamond Portraits, especially on the Old Gods. The special emotes that come with Diamond Portraits can't be clicked through and pause each combat until they play out. Moving to a Golden Portrait eliminates that.

Also remember if your campfire is full, and you find a mysterious stranger, you can pause before selecting it and go back to the campfire and cancel a task to free up a slot. And after completing task 7 you have all the equipment, etc so you can move to another merc.

true, but also if you farm the task to 18, you get 3 free packs each merc (packs at task 16, 17, 18)

@@troloniousttv5822 yep - it's a balance as to where you are in getting the core skills/equip on core mercs - once you have a few comps I'd not abandon (though you will get them back eventually if you do)

I use it for basic farming, quite a good team ! But for more difficult places, I stick to my favourite RGB (Red/Green/Blue - Ragnaros/Gedon/Balinda) ;)

I've really gotten into this mode because of you! The only thing that is really frustrating me is when I go to upgrade my mercs it lags and often times won't let me back out. This mode has been out for months and this level of bugs is purely unacceptable! Have the devs given any indication they are working on fixes?

I get it also, I find that being a bit slower and not cancelling animations (let them play out when upgrading a skill) *sometimes* helps (but not always).

Which comp is the best to farm the fire comp with? Haha this is my biggest struggle. I want the fire comp but farming 3-2 and 3-3 my Varden Millhouse Krush comp loses 1 or 2 characters by the end...

Hey Old Guardian, Thank you so much for all your guides, it's really helping me a lot as a returning player only playing this new amazing pve mode: mercenaries. I've watched all your videos from Hearthstone - Mercenaries Task playlist and couldn't find the one I'm stuck at, which is Sir Finley task 18 destroy 18 murlocs. I haven't been able to find any murloc enemies so far, any idea where would be the place to find them ? Am I not far enough in the game yet ?

Darkshore. The first bounty in the zone, Corrupted Murlocs, is full of them and the boss summons even more. That's where I did the task. You will have access to the zone after completing Winterspring, completing that zone unlocks the first boss in each zone. You can do a run through that bounty for the task even if you're not that far into the storyline yet.

@@OldGuardian Oh my god I've never noticed those were unlocked, you're saving me thank you so much ! I was actually stuck on 3rd boss of Blackrock mountain so I should have this unlocked. I'm also farming bounties with Geddon coins (and then will proceed with Ragnaros) to unlock them and have a fast farming comp. I've seen your murloc team you showcased for the heroic version but I do not have mutanus yet. Is there any other viable option to bring there ? Especially one that does not die too easily during the climb ? Thank you so much for all the help you're providing through your content and your answers, you're really an amazing resource !

@@Josh13379 Cariel/Xyrella/Samuro can handle the climb, or Cornelius instead of Cariel if you have Rokara and Mr. Smite for the combo against the boss.

@@OldGuardian Oh yeah I've seen that video too about Cornelius Rokara Mr. Smite but I didn't quite like it, right now I'm running the Cariel/Xyrella/Samuro comp as my main team for all content and swapping Xyrella for Millhouse for faster clears depending on what I'm facing. Thank you for the insights, I'll keep farming that with the main team then !

i stopped using the fire comp for jaina,varden,lokholar,balinda,cookie, and lich king(he has excellent treasures like freeze all turn 1 and take 5 from all. The frost comp can easily kill all elite camps and all final bosses in sunken city. You crush dopplegangsters with jaina, varden, lokholar. turn 2 you freeze them all and gain 15 frost damage if they dont die and lokholar cleans any survivors turn 3. frost isn't as fast but is invincible. except secret cow level in the barrens

But that is 6 mercenaries. How do you have room for an extra merc when trying to farm tasks for that extra merc?

Maybe the animations with the middle equipment is too slow.

Did you say that you need to actually bring the guy that you want the task chain for? I just head to Winterspring 1 Normal and take Varian (use Retalliation), Trigore (use Backlash) and the merc for whom I want the task chain starting. Kick ass. Then you're guaranteed to get it (assuming the Mysterious Stranger actually shows up and you don't get the goddamn Spud six times in a row like myself). You get a chance at a node in three fights, so re-roll if it's further away than that.

Does this fire comp version works for farming the new bounties, not just stranger? I mean on normal to farm the new merc coins.

I have not done all normals with it, but in general, yes, it is a fine comp for farming normals.

How did you complete jaraxxus task 11 in mercenaries??? It says to destroy 2 enemies in one turn using fist of jaraxxus 8 times. but in my case it doesn't work, I don't know how to make it count

Many of the destroy 2 in one turn tasks seem to be bugged now. I have already done them, so I cannot test them myself.

It's lvl 30 only on Heroic. No, you do not want to do that.

Aren't Lord Banehollow still surpreme in farming Strangers? Generally you only need 2 fight to get to the node.

I prefer lvl 30 bounties ever since Strangers were made more rare.

Rarran did a video claiming that the more fights you do on the way to the mystery coin, the more likely you are to get mysterious stranger. Can anyone confirm?

The biggest sample sizes of collected data on the matter are around 200 runs. They're inconclusive. Even if there is a small bonus by the number of fights, it does not seem to overcompensate for the time spent in those fights. So you should not reroll short maps anyway.

@@OldGuardian Okay thanks. I think I've already debunked the claim for myself. There is no way it is 70% chance to get MS if you have 5 fights before it, because I've done 3 normal Snowclaws in a row and didn't get any stranger.

@@remyllebeau77 Oh, it absolutely never was anywhere that high. That was a piece of bad data that spread on Reddit. I wrote a comment debunking that claim as soon as it was published, but people still wanted to spread it.

I found a good combo while leveling mercenaries. Lichking, Y'Shaarj, Capt. Glubschauge. It is enough to attack with Y'Shaarj once, he kills everything. Just for leveling^ CMzmgAYSCEdydXBwZSAxGAEiJgoKCGMQlgEY1AEgAAoLCNgCEOsCGOEEIAAKCwj2AhCDAxiVBSAAKCU=

I don't think that comp provides enough attack for Y'Shaarj in all scenarios. I have actually tested several Y'Shaarj comps, as I hoped to find one where all it would take is one click from Y'Shaarj, but that is not possible. Even Y'Shaarj/Murky/Mukla (a full board from Battlecry effects) does not provide enough attack for all scenarios.

@@OldGuardian I meant just for leveling...for the boss is not enough...my comb...I didn´t understand the Vid with the tasks after finishing the 18 tasks.when finish all just go back i got 4 new one?!Sry when i am stupid :)

@@SuperVerpeilt You get four new ones every day, for random Mercs. Sometimes you want to start a task chain for a specific Merc immediately, and that's when you still farm tasks.
