He is not kidding. These are the best cookies ever both with and without the cocoa powder. Nothing compares and I have been eating cookies for over 50 years as well. This cookie is top notch.

I like the laugh as he eats the cookie. Not the usual, "telling you how good it is" - just a laugh of pure contentment, letting you know *HE* likes it and could very easily sit there and eat the whole tray while totally forgetting about the camera. Well done! Two thumbs up~

Wow Chef! I made your cookies today. I only had light brown sugar so I used 1.1/4 C and added 2 T. dark molasses with wet ingredients. I used zero sugar dark chocolate chips, macadamia chopped, and tossed in 1 tsp. powdered espresso when sifting dry. Sorry for altering your recipe but I have certain dietary restrictions. I followed your directions for baking, cooling, resting. THEY ARE DELICIOUS! So happy I discovered your channel on YT. I discounted all cooking channels long ago because they were too rigid, too Hollywood, too self-promoting, or even too vague. You are legit! What a life you have lived and continue doing so! I have 4 grandchildren, 3 boys and a girl. Ages 16, 12, 10, & 5. Everytime they stop by they want Grand-Marie's cookies and now they will be craving Chef Jean-Pierre's!

Amazing!!! Contagiously humorous and the French accent makes the teaching even better. Then he incorporates the " Oh mama Mia"; love it. The way he laughs, licks his lips, and moves his fingers as he taste makes me laugh every time. I don't even eat cookies, but I'll make these, for my nephews. I'd love to watch Chef Jean-Pierre in person cook.

I find myself cheering and laughing in pure Joy. Whether I make these cookies or not - (Ah... I will eventually. can't resist) but the festive way in which Chef is presenting his cookies, and the pure relaxed way he prepares them, just.... Makes this the ultimate in "cooking entertainment" or "Joyful cooking lesson" or name it as you will... I don't care. I had fun!!!!

I was given this cookie recipe about 25 years ago and it is my most requested cookie. Instead of powdered sugar I lightly drizzle melted white chocolate over the top. Everyone should try this recipe!!

Chef JP, I saw this video and had to make this cookie. AAAAMAAAAAZING! These may be the easiest to make and best tasting chocolate cookies I have ever had. I worked in bakeries full and part time until I was 40 and had an opportunity to learn some techniques with a French Pastry Chef years ago. I have never made or tasted anything close to these cookies. The simplicity of the recipe was the best part. A child could indeed do it! My wife said she is glad they are so rich because she would be tempted to eat the entire batch! Well done Chef!

I've made 2 batches of these cookies so far absolutely amazing but today making my 3rd lot up, I changed it up a bit by adding a quarter cup orange rum and orange zest from a whole orange 😮 wow..... Thank you chef for your super great content on your channel it makes me want to go culinary school to become a professional chef and I'm in my early 40s

This recipe is so easy, i’m not a fan of chocolate chips, so I added orange chocolate bar from Lindt company which I cut into tiny pieces same size as chocolate chips. I love the flavour of chocolate and orange together. They came out amazing. Thank you JP for all your recipes you make every recipe so entertaining and easy ❤️🇨🇦

Just finished these. Amazing! I only got 18 out of the recipe, though. I jammed the 2” scoop with batter. Anyway, I knew these would be terrific not only because it’s your recipe, Chef, but because I could smell the baking soda in the batter. There’s something about baking soda and chocolate. I made it my signature cookie by pressing a whisk in the cookie making it look like the spokes of a wheel and putting a chocolate covered raisin on top. Fantastic. Thank you for the recipe. Top honors.

This reminds me of my great-aunt's special chocolate cookies - she always used pecans, as they had some large pecan trees on their property. Sometimes she added golden raisins.

G'day Chef. Greetings from Australia. I have to say I just made these cookies ( we call then biscuits here )for my wife . These are by far the best cookies we've ever eaten. Then my wife got the idea to make ice cream sandwiched with the cookies and some vanilla ice cream. I will certainly be making more of these. Thanks.

Just an addition to my comment below, I added a chopped up bar of dark chocolate (Ghirardelli dark chocolate with raspberries) and I made the recipe four times in the past two weeks, it is absolutely phenomenal ! Thank you Chef and Jack, please keep up the tasty, great work.
