Something you didn't mention with sir alonne is that if the player flawlessly beats him (no taking any damage or blocking an attack with a shield) he does a different death animation. That is sick

I honestly really love Midir. After learning his moveset, once you actually try out rolling _away_ from his attacks rather than into them like you would for anything else in the game, you’ll see that his head is easily open for the double damage (not to mention hitting his head enough times eventually grants you the most satisfying riposte in the game). I see it as a very interesting “unlearning” exercise within the game, like how Bloodborne and Sekiro challenge your average Souls combat habits

I absolutely love Gael and lady Maria and Artorias they are my favorite DLC bosses.

I love midir almost as much as gael, he's a huge boss that feels like a proper dual against an intelligent few, giving him a weak point and emphasizing facing him head on instead of going under him while trying to reposition yourself around his attacks for punish is a fun mini game within the fight itself and the riposte is a bloody awesome finisher, I also adore the design presentation and music, he still has the best most over the top spectacle in the series imo

I actually think Sinh is my favorite ds2 dlc boss, he’s not really hard like most dragons but his fight is still fun

While sir alonne and fume knight were great bosses my favorite boss in DS2 has to be the burnt ivory king I love this fight first I love its arena and the battle of the knights and the fight was awesome and I like his long blue sword and the moves and his soundtrack is really good.

Good list my man! Here's mine: Demons Souls: Giant Of The Frozen Peak - You know...that one from the dlc where you get to visit the sixth archstone...oh right, that never happened... Dark Souls: Black Dragon Kalameet - It's a tough call between Kalameet and Artorias, but I gotta go with my favorite black fire spewing dragon fight in the series! Dark Souls 2: Sir Alonne - Really love Sinh and Fume Knight, but the battle with Sir Alonne is just such an intense one on one duel! Bloodborne: Orphan Of Kos - It's between placenta candy man and Ludwig, but I'm going with placenta candy man for the insane speed and aggression, all set to the backdrop of an isolated shore... Dark Souls 3: Demon Prince - I hated this fight when I first encountered it but I've only grown to appreciate with time as one of the better duo fights in the series, plus they just look so cool glowing in the dark! Sekiro: inner something or another - okay yeah, I haven't actually had a chance to fight the "dlc" bosses yet, so any of the three will do. Elden Ring: Miquella, Satanic Spawn Of The Egg - This of course, hasn't been released to the public yet, but rest assured this is the dlc boss to end all dlc bosses!

To think Gael would be the boss everybody loves the most out of all dark souls games and the fact he is the boss to end the series is jaw dropping. best boss in dark souls series for me too

I remember when I first beat Gael. It was like, four in the morning and I had been grinding him over and over and over again for like, 4-6 hours. When I finally beat him I swear I almost cried. The spectacle of the fight and the lore behind it, all culminating the Souls series to a close just, AH, such a fantastic, memorable fight that produced a feeling I don't think I'll ever get again.

For me, kalameet is the best boss in dark souls 1 dlc, the first decent dragon boss fight, exclusive mechanics like manus, the OST.. it's the best for me (in ds1 btw) Aava is underrated

Hey 4 years ago when i first fought sir alonne i was blown away from how good the graphics of his boss arena looked.

For sure enjoy the Artorias fight as my favorite DLC fight. It's challenging and you walk away with a sense of satisfaction when you can finally win it.

As good as Ludwig is aesthetically, musically, and lore-wise, personally I've got to go with Oprhan of Kos for Bloodborne. The perfect amount of difficulty for me, really fast but fair moveset, and honestly one of the coolest bosses aesthetically, imo.

Honestly the only boss in the old hunters dlc that should deserve critism if you picked it would be the living failures and maybe lawrence since its just a fire cleric beast with a crawling phase. However the other 3 are all so good that it comes down to preference. I personally loved the orphan most.

Lady Maria from bloodborne and Sister Friede from dark souls 3 are the bosses that makes me feel like a true fast paced combat challenge.

In DS2 there's Sinh, the slumbering dragon. In many ways, he's a Midir before Midir. His bossfight is mainly him doing flybys on you abusing his aerial mobility.

Gael is my favorite boss in the whole series, but as evidenced by this video and many others the DLC always has From Soft bringing out their absolute best for their respective games. I cannot wait for the Elden Ring DLC to see if they'll be able to compete with the GOATs. Also I bought a shirt, I gots to support the kid

I could not agree more with you about Lady Maria. She's the main reason I return to Bloodborne every now and then. I love her fight so much I deliberately make sure I'm under leveled so the fight lasts longer than intended. Then I go and level up and still get repeatedly obliterated by Orphan :)

DS1: Manus, his high damage and speed makes weaving in and out of his attacks and landing hits feel all the more satisfying DS2: Fume Knight, the slow and methodical pace of the fight makes it feel like a true TRPG battle BB: Orphan, just feels like a truly off the walls adrenaline-pumping encounter DS3: Friede, the most demanding fight in the game and feels the best to beat imo, you go from a one on one duel to an actually well made duo fight to a more souped up and intense one on one Sekiro (ig???): Inner Genichiro, takes the most iconic fight in the game and makes him even more unpredictable. The feeling of perfectly parrying Floating Passage and Sakura Dance back to back is unmatched and the double lightning deflect is just cold

The fact that slave knight gael is the final boss of dark souls trilogy is sooo underated they managed to match final boss and best boss at the same time which is amazing

In my opinion Gael is the best because while he is challenging he isn't difficult: it's not hard to see which attack he's about to use, his damage isn't over the top but he'll still keep you on your toes all the way through the fight

I have to say I disagree with you for what concerns Lady Maria. I like the moveset, but the second phase is a copy-paste of the first one (only with extended range and three more attacks, that are delayed ones, and actually the number of moves is inferior to the one of the first phase, since she stops using the weapon with only one hand to shoot you, as far as I remember). I find the third phase really annoying, since the flames have not the same timing of the attacks themselves, so you can't dodge them consistently, and also parries don't always work due to the fact that sometimes flames are generated even if you manage to parry the attack (maybe it's a little bug, but it happens and is a problem, in my opinion). In addition, third phase is no more than a second phase with flames. Anyway, i really liked the video!

Top DLC bosses basically means top bosses in each game, honestly, because From always bring out their best in their DLCs so far (please be the same for Elden Ring, I am begging you)! My choices would be: Dark Souls: Artorias Dark Souls 2: Raime/Fume Knight Dark Souls 3: Friede and Ariandel Bloodborne: Orphan of Kos....barely ahead of Ludwig, by a shade Sekiro: Owl (Father)

I had a lot more trouble with Artorius. Artorius took me around 180 attempts, while Manus took me 7.

When lady Maria goes into the bloodfire stage it should’ve reset her health bar. It would’ve been a much better fight

Ludwig is the best boss in Bloodborne for me. The super aggressive first phase fits perfectly into the game's fast-paced combat and is really fun once you learn the combos. And need I say anything about the second phase, and the music? As for your point about being more into humanoid bosses, I'm the exact opposite, and prefer the beast-like designs. Anyway, Orphan of Kos takes second place above Lady Maria. It's a really tough fight with no bullshit mechanics, compared to Malenia for example. Your success in the fight depends on parrying and staggering him correctly, and it's an intense pure adrenaline experience, especially in phase 2. The attack where he cries out for Kos and summons a lightning bolt is badass. Lady Maria is a really good boss by all means and has cool lore, but the Orphan's perfectly balanced difficulty, music, and more beast-like grotesque design hits it for me. BTW the first time I played the DLC was all in NG+

i couldn't beat Owl hirata estate, demon of hatred, manus and kalameet & midir, i just couldn't, however remaining bosses rocks, like a Gael or Artorias

I shit you not you will not believe me if I told you this but I actually one tried manus on my first play through of dark souls, to be fair I was using a really good weapon (black knight sword) but still it felt so good

I'm fighting Lady Maria now and while I haven't beaten her yet, I can say that I'm having a hell of a good time with the fight. I've barely been using the gun before her, but she's actually teaching me how to parry. It also helps that the run to her in non-existent. I love the fight with Ludwig, but his crazy horse rampaging in phase 1 sucks so much. By contrast phase 2 ended up being much easier than I expected and it wasn't hard to stay in close and avoid most of his attacks. At least there are 5 free blood vials on each run back to him though. Father Ariandel isn't Friede's father. It's clearer in the Japanese. He's father as in a Christian priest; hence why Friede is Sister Friede. I'm not at Friede yet, but she's the reason why I've gotten the onikiri and ubadachi pair to +10. I love my Hollowslayer Greatsword, but I need a faster weapon for that fight. Given that I'm currently fighting Lady Maria, I should be better prepared for Friede.

I prefer Fume Knight over Sir Alonne. I feel Alonne is to mechanically simple and easy and I love the attack mechanics of Fume. Both great fight but both in different tiers for me

Working on gettin to DS3 dlc right now. As it is, having played DS 1, 2 & 3, my all time fav boss is the goddamn GOAT, Artorias. That fight is so flippin fun, I had to make a quality character just to fight him until the end of time. I get close to killing him n then throw the fight. I actually do, want to fight this guy for-fuckin-ever. Perfect 1000000/10 fight. And we all know the story is fuckin amazing. But that fight, oooooh that fiiiiight. Shit ima go fight him for a couple hours, right gosh damned now. Thank you for this video.
