My edc is a mini Kukri, handmade in Nepal. The knife is 1.5 pounds and 12.5 inches with a blade just over 8. I only carry full tang fixed blades. Any knife can be an edc. The Kukri is one of my several daily carry knives, but it is the one knife I never leave home without.

LOVING that Slimfoot Auto. Thanks for the hookup! Also, under $20, I'd have to give the Kershuffle my vote, but I'd go with the Kershuffle 1 because tip up carry.
@rockcrawling43
@rockcrawling43 3 жыл бұрын
Man I hate tip up. I've had several knives open in my pocket, from various brands. Last was a Boker Strike where the safety somehow got disengaged and the button pushed in my pocket and opened just enough to cut my thumb pretty badly. I like tip down, what is the advantage to tip up? So many people like it.
@sparks6177

As my paw, once said " a knife is a tool, and a dull knife is useless " use my edc to cut onions, peel cucumbers, gotta get your veggies in, $16 throwaway, but shaves hair. Have cold steel, for night fishing, baby buck for deboning turkey for thanksgiving(check out video, cooks in 1/2 the time) . premium steel is nice.but the cops confiscate all knives found(cleveland), and search.you from the front???!!. SC didn't care, frisk from back. In a small town in pa I armed my neighborhood when the neo skinheads , chased them around with baseball bats, the military machete was mine,and got them all back. All over A chick not wanting to put out to wht guys, after her first blk guy in a wht town. Good to have shit steel. Didn't get the m80s back.$250 I'm getting a gun, at lease I'll get 70% of my money back. These guys are wacked. Have premium steel in moderation, not over $60 , amazon. Once you go casehardened, buck, need a lansky sharpening system with polishing.stone, red box $40. In the end will you cry , when you loose it , or you loan it out to your girlfriend , or appointment that wanted to stay at the bar, cuz you had to go to work. Just sayin.

one of my favorite under $20, under $10 actually, is the Schrade SCH100. you have it listed on your site for $7ish. I picked mine up at an autozone for $15 a few years ago. its an amazingly tough knife. mine is in my firefighter turnout gear, it has been an absolute workhorse. I've cut everything from seatbelts to calzones with it, never sharpened it yet, run it over with a fire engine, and it keeps coming back for more!!! great knife under $20
@Jaketheaxman
@Jaketheaxman 3 жыл бұрын
I have a lot of knives under $20. A real consideration for this category of knives is whether you want to constantly sharpen them. A lot of mine get dull real quick after light use because the materials aren't favorable for keeping an edge. However, I do have knives under $20 that have one heck of a sharp edge right after you sharpen it, but if you sharpen it frequently it could be worth it. Also remember durability when purchasing a knife. Its harder to fix a broken or bent blade than it is to just constantly sharpen it
@xvaldez3284
@xvaldez3284 4 жыл бұрын
I'm honestly impressed with how nice the schrade looks like I wouldn't have guessed it was a $12 knife based on looks alone. Also I'd love that Gerber knife if it wasn't so fat and had a flipper tab or thumb stud instead of a disc/square

Great video! I own the CRKT Minimalist, and the Finn Bear, had them for years. I love neck knives and even though I have a couple of Tops neck knives, I still wear the CRKT from time to time. I also have probably 7-8 Mora’s, 4 Bushcraft Black, and even a Pathfinder, which Dave Canterbury featured in a video years ago, which actually peaked my interest in Mora...fantastic knives. I have over 200 knives in my collection, it’s kind of an addiction, but don’t typically buy expensive knives. The most expensive one I own is a Benchmade, and it’s a special edition. I enjoy watching these videos, mostly to see if you feature any that I already own. I also have a small collection of ceramic knives...

Maybe an automatic "lazy susan/turn table" thing might be good for you guys to rest the knife on while you're talking. It's sometimes difficult to see the knife while you guys are holding it in your hands. The camera can't really get good, tight shots of it. Maybe a turn table or even like a holder/stand might be good so the camera can get good shots of the knives you guys are showcasing.

One of the knives I have carried for 15 years or so is the CKRT Ryan Model 7. It's under $20 and has a great action. Big ambi thumb studs and scale handle which is easy to work with while wearing gloves. It's only AUS 6 steel but, I use mine all the time and I only need to touch up the edge on an occasional basis. I was rather surprised it didn't make the list.

Not just cuz we're buying one sub-$20 knife, but budget collectors like me who want one of every type of knife, so i can't spend too much on any one type of knife. that's why i am a sub-$20 knife guy (hell let's be honest, I'm a $5 Friday knife kinda guy). My next under 20 purchase will be the: Baladeo Variation Laguiole Liner Lock Knife Zebra Wood A traditional looking knife except both with a liner lock and pocket clip? perfect! i've been looking for that exact sort of combination but doesn't seem to be very common at all!

you really came off as elitist there, for a lot of us, we CAN'T afford a $40 knife sometimes. and for you to "disagree" with that is off-putting. I struggle to live on a VA pension, my rent alone is over half of my income. by the time I pay bills, buy food, and gas, and take care of my wife and kids I am dead ass broke. when I say that I am saving up for something I mean I literally have a jar for coins that I roll, and quarters and dimes buy essentials at the end of the month, nickels and pennies are my "savings" that I get to use for things I just want. when I bought my tops bob fixed blade it took me 17 months to get the money saved. I have been saving for over a year for an essee, but my fund was wiped out 3 months ago to keep the electricity on. I really enjoy most of your videos, but that kinda irked me.

Life is a lot easier if you dont take everything personally and look for ways to be offended. Its not BladeHQs fault youre poor, they dont care about you, me, or anyone else for that matter. No sympathy from me. What ESSE are you saving for? I have a few that i havent touched in years and id send you one if i have one you want. @@CNYKnifeNerd I do not look for ways to be offended, but when the topic is budget blades, and the immediate tone is set with condescension over people maybe needing lower priced choices, a business that wants people to choose THEM to send their money to should be a little less elitist. there are a lot of other companies selling the same knives, so alienating a huge segment of the possible customer base is a bad plan

Texas Gar Anglers :- Might it be a reaction to the many tactical, thick-bladed, poor cutting saber ground knives that have become so popular with the knife batoning crowd...knives that couldn't slice an apple without splitting and shredding the poor fruit. So now slicey means that this knife is a "cutter" with a thin blade profile and good edge geometry? Just sayin'...

sharp knife which knife is so thick it can’t decently cut fruit with a decent edge ? I don’t own “tactical” tommy knives but the thickest knife I own is probably my esee 6hm I use for camping and I can easily cut food and fruits without destroying it so I think it’s plenty “slicey” enough to do that, maybe if people actually kept there knives sharp they wouldn’t have issues with cutting things.
