There is one album i believe everyone should hear. "Moon Safari" by Air. the best songs on the album are "La Femme d'Argent" "Talisman" and "Kelly Watch The Stars". had this list been longer than top 10, this album would definitely be a perfect fit

Oil of every pearl's un-insides is my fav electronic album of the past decade. Just so ahead of it's time, so influencial in pop music and culture.

I think Porter Robinson deserves an honorable mention either for nurture or for worlds in an eventual part 2. Even if the production is not on par with the likes shown here, I feel his influence in the scene plus his side projects really earn him the place. Great video!

There’s so many more great artist, I feel like Four Tet, The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, Portishead, Massive Attack, Fatboy Slim all deserve honourable mentions for pushing the genre and making it accessible to wide audiences

Here's some of mine that I would add! (excluding anything from Radiohead or Aphex Twin) 1) Nurture by Porter Robinson. He mixes the sounds of Japanese folk with euphoric dance pop so well. It's an album as cathartic as it is intimate and beautiful. 2) Skin by Flume for the otherworldly sound design and incredibly curated features. His mixtape Hi, This is Flume is totally up there as well. 3) Caribou, Our Love, for the playful sound of indie rock woven in with calming electronics 4) Machine Girl's Wlfgrl is up there as well, for taking various drum and bass genres and breathing new life into them for a fun and creative explosion of sound 5) M83, Hurry Up, We're Dreaming, for the beautifully cinematic (yet not overdone) shoegazy production and painfully nostalgic lyrics.

I don't listen to much electronic music, but I heard M83's "Junk" a couple of years ago which I absolutely loved. I know that it wasn't very well received by critics, but personally I cannot get enough of it.

Some artists I would have at least as honorable mentions: Four Tet, Bonobo, Floating Points, Caribou, Andrew Ashong, Nu Genea, Nightmares on Wax

Jon Hopkins is a legend as far as I’m concerned. happy to see him get a mention

I had literally not heard of any of these, so thank you for introducing them to me. It is so hard to get out of the feedback loop of streaming platforms to find new discoveries, so I still really rely on places like this channel to help curate new discoveries.

Squarepusher (Feed Me Weird Things) and Venetian Snares (Rossz Csillag Alatt Szuletett) deserve a mention in part 2

Deffo think that Jai Paul's album is worth a mention as well! Honestly been one of the most eye opening and inspirational albums Ive ever heard

Since you mentionned Bjork while talking about Sophie, I think you would have a field day if you try to dip your toes of Bjork's discography and how much she held the torch of artpop throughout 3 decades, especially with the release of her new album

Röyksopp’s Melody A.M. should’ve gotten some mention. Nothing else sounds quite like it, not even the duo’s other work. It shifts from dreamy, melodic soundscapes to slamming house beats seamlessly and is a hell of a ride throughout. One of the greatest downtempo records ever produced.

Seeing Boards of Canada getting mentioned on every video brightens me up. They're like one of my favourite artists ever period; and the rarities they've put out to public (A Few Old Tunes, BOC Maxima) and the undiscovered gems have been intrigued me for years about their overall sound pre-MHTRTC.

I'm so happy that Against All Logic 2012-2017 was included! But I also feel like Jaar's debut album Space Is Only Noise deserves just as much credit or even more, hopefully it will get a mention in a part II

James Blake's self titled album is like no other. It's so intricate and delicate, his voice is amazing and distinctive, and the silences and spaces within the songs are so perfectly placed. I love that album dearly.

Boards of Canada is amazing. I got into creating electronic music from Geogaddi. Also, Velocity: Design: Comfort got me into faster genres (ie Drum and Bass). Currently, I make Ambient Jungle but I was heavily influenced by High Contrast’s High Society. That album would be on my top ten.

Through the Walls by WhoMadeWho is to me a great electronic rock album with a mesmerising vocal. And even though it is a well-known album, GENERATIONWHY by ZHU is just so incredibly well produced it deserves a shout out, on my list

Thylacine's Timeless album can honestly be timeless itself lol. Idk if I can say it's essential electronic listening, but it's really great. Its like an electronical "remix"/homage of various classical musicians and their iconic songs like Beethoven, Debussy, and Mozart. It's pretty cool to me. Great video! I added some of these albums to my list!

Jon Hopkins' Immunity is my favourite album of all time - I'd have been interested to hear your thoughts on it but top 12 doesn't have the same ring. If you were looking to explore different angles of electronic music, I would always point to Nils Frahm or Bonobo (particularly Migration).

Lovely stuff. I'm a big fan of Lorn's Ask the Dust from 2012 and 2013's Engravings by Forest Swords

Gonna add some more suggestions to this list! The descriptions are maybe a bit wanky but hopefully paint a good picture of what the music sounds like and why I love it. All of these are 10/10 in my opinion, I really recommend just listening to each record in full (but I'll add some recommendations for where to start, too) Talaboman - The Night Land: Varied mix of hazy, dreamlike, almost shamanistic downtempo/techno with achingly beautiful melodies. (check: Safe Changes, Loser's Hymn) Daniel Avery - Drone Logic: Brilliantly crafted bleepy bloopy techno with lots of drama and a really distinct sonic profile. Kinda makes you feel like you are stepping inside the mind of an awakening machine intelligence (check: Naive Response, Drone Logic) Skee Mask - Compro: Utterly sublime and intricately detailed ambient techno with next level sound design, as broken as it is stunningly beautiful (check: Flyby VFR, Via Sub Mids) Dauwd - Theory of Colours: Would vaguely file this under "house" but in practice it's a lot more interesting and unique than that. Richly textured, precious and delicate music like a crystal gleaming in the light that might break as soon as it's touched (check: Macadam Therapy, Unconscious)

A solid list. I dont think I could compile a list like this without including UNKLE, DJ Shadow, Simian Mobile Disco, Cassius, Portishead, Massive Attack, Disclosure and Bicep.
