I've moved away from the medium and larger palettes. These days I just want a couple of small palettes that can be used daily or go a little bolder for a special occasion. I don't buy makeup just because anymore. I only buy to replace. Simplicity is so much better.

Yes, we buy a lot of stuff we don't use, but eventually work out what colours suit us, what we really do wear, what products work best for our skin type and colour and tone, etc....once we figure all that out, we can work with a much smaller group of products 👍👍👍

I agree. I don’t want the decision fatigue of a giant palette. Also hate storing them!

Yeah, I'm glad most of us have gotten out of "collector" mode. I remember back 6 years ago I'd see a new color story and think I NEED that, why? Because I don't have any bright yellow shadows in my collection! I quickly realized that I have no interest in wearing those colors, and it doesn't benefit me just to own things for the sake of collecting.

Can’t stand large palettes. I purchased 2 Morphe palettes on sale during Covid and I’ve used them once. Completely overwhelming.

Colourpop's Nude Mood is at the top of the list for me, a must-have if you like warm tones and it is stunning on blue eyes, I use it all the time! This year I've tried Natasha Denona for the first time and I am wowed. I've literally just received the I Need A Nude palette, it is so so pretty! 🤩

The BH Amalfi palette is the Chillin in Chicago palette, renamed. I do really enjoy the palette though, especially in the summer time.

Yep, 100%. I never thought the palette reflected the colors of Chicago (no silver for the Bean, no black for famous skyscrapers, no blue for Lake Michigan). I wouldn’t buy it on principle as I have lived in or near the city for most of my adult life. Once they renamed it, I caved due to loving the BH formula. And it is a really good neutral palette.

Your ranking is the first I’ve seen that includes Sydney Grace palettes. I’ve noticed influencers aren’t talking about the brand as much recently.

My favorite from this year is Sydney Grace Blessed, beautiful and includes the best silver shade. I love the SG Endless Love, have traveled with it twice, it’s a beautiful basic. I have BH Chicago, it’s the exact same shades as Amalfi. It’s a bit too warm for my skin tone. I miss the old BH. Thank you for your review. I feel like you are more thoughtful and familiar with your palettes.

My number one palette this year was the beauty bay earthy palette. Every shimmer is SO high impact and has some of the best interesting neutral shimmer shades that are neither too cool nor too warm

Saw the PML palette at TJ Maxx and I left it right there. Had the one with the blushes in my Sephora cart and then passed. I do have the 2 minis and like them. I love all my ND midi palettes and am glad I have them. Great roundup! Happy New Year! 🎉🎉❤❤

I basically reach for 3 palettes 95% of the time; Colourpop Stone Cold Fox, Natasha Denona Glam and Huda Beauty Rose Quartz. Great formulas in the colors that look best on my 61 year old face with gray hair.

I adore the I Need a Nude palette!!! I keep trying to use other palettes, but this one is so easy to use and so pretty that it’s been in major repeat since I got it after its launch. Happy new year!

My favorite pallette of this year was Makeup by Mario ‘Ethereal’. ‘I Need a Nude’ was a close second but I still haven’t figured out what looks best with that one.

Love this ranking! I wanted to let you know that occasionally the Ipsy sales have the Viseart palettes for super discounted prices if you wanted to be able to try some that are in the more berry and nude tones. And you no longer have to be a Ipsy subscriber to shop the sales.

ND I Need a Nude is my palette of the year for last year. As you said, the textures just take the cake. I reach for that palette so often and it’s effortless, where normally I find her formulas really take me a lot of time and fore-planning to get a good look. I love the every-day ness of it, but it can still make something evening or “event”-worthy

The I Need a Nude palette is on my wishlist for my birthday as the #1 thing I want. SG Love's Journey I haven't delved into just yet, so i'm not sure how i'll like it, but i swatched the shimmers the other day and it's STUNNING. Definitely an autumn/winter palette for me. Can't wait to play!

Bh Chicago and Amalfi are the exact same palette, I bought the Amalfi because I thought it was so pretty and it turned out to be the same but with a different name. I don’t understand why they changed the name🤷🏻‍♀️

My favorite this year is the LH Cosmetics New Golden 20s palette. The mattes are super blendable and buildable, and the shimmers are too.

It's not new, but despite all of the new palettes out there, I used Colourpop's That's Taupe more than any other palette. I did purchase and am enjoying the Patrick Ta 3 and the Natasha Denona I Need A Nude palettes. e.l.f. Bite Sized palletes in the berry, rose, and coffee shades were big winners with me this year, too! Thank you for your videos--you are so honest, genuine, and charming--love you to bits!

Happy New Year! I saw the video when you tested the Physicians Formula palette ( I never miss one of your videos) and I was surprised you liked it. I tried it a couple of years ago and found that it wasn’t very pigmented and the shadows were patchy. Now I’m wondering if mine was old or had been stored improperly. You do a great job of reviewing makeup. I will buy or pass based on your recommendation.

The Pat McGrath Celestial Nirvana palette has 3 shades that would work for a Mardi Gras look, the green, gold, and purple shades. Perfect for this time of year.

I've tried a few new-to-me brands this year, one of them being Pat McGrath. I got three of the PMcG palettes at Marshalls, and honestly the Celestial Nirvana is a very nice palette, which I use in combination with the smaller all matte palette I got at the same time. I'm glad I got it at a discount, otherwise I might never have considered the purchase. That's The Coffee Shop palette you have on? That's so lovely! I recently bought it but haven't used it yet -- Juvias Place is another brand that's new to me this year. I'll have to try and recreate your look. Thanks for sharing.

Can't believe I'm just seeing this post......As much as I love the berry tones too I am unable to wear them as the "red" family of colors stains my eyelids makes me look "pink-eyeish" - even when I use an eye primer.....would love to hear suggestions if there are solutions to that.

My top 2 palettes from this year would have to be Xenon and I Need A Nude! And a Pretty Grunge is #3! (I use xenon alongside My Dream. I use Nurture and Aspiration to build up crease and outer corner. Then I use Xenon for the rest. Nightsky to line upperlashline. Snowbow dabbed on center of lid. The most beautiful shade of Natasha’s ever, imo. (Sometimes I’ll use Skift instead). Then I dab a little Ebb on the outer corner, just a little bit. My favorite winter look ever!!!!

I love eyeshadow! I just don't have the job for it! My favorite pallet used to be UD Wild West. I love the Colourpop That's Taupe and the Colourpop Not a Box of Chocolate. Love them both. I know they aren't this years pallets but I really like them. I typically use a bronzer in the crease and a Super Shock on the lid. I do however like the new Elf pallet. It's really pretty and reminds of the Glam Pallet from ND. I also like the Aurora pallet from Colourpop. Colourpop is just bomb to me. That Sydney Grace purple pallet looks like the CP Orchid Me Not pallet.

I think I only bought one palette this year. It was the Dior Silver Essentials. I loved the Dior Backstage Cool palate for subtle looks so I thought I would try this one. I wish Backstage Cool palate was still available.

I splurged on 9-15 pans when they are my colourscheme (neutrals, basics, mauves, sands that kind of boredom ;-)) and from brands I know I like. Quads and 5-pans I like for more bolder options where the look is in that one little palette and that is cohesive to get it done without thinking. I would love a mini Yucca or a mini Circo Loco just for the fun of things but don't need them full size. Like I have mini Xenon and skipped the midi. I don't were a gray/black eyelook daily. For a party it is fun to have those shades but a mini is just fine for that.

I actually think I like the Natasha Denona Yucca Palette more than the I Need A Nude Palette. Which I absolutely love as well. But the Yucca one is more adventurous which is why I think I like it more.

Alter ego coastal has been sold out for months :-(. I absolutely love color pop’s ctrl alt glam pallet. It is so much fun to fade the different shimmers. Sometimes I line up two or three of them and they last and last.

I actually wish Heaven on Earth leaned just a little more true green but ai love it. I've been so tempted by Love's Journey but I feel like Heaven om Earth has what I like about Love's Journey. The variant from warm, neutral and cool. It's a beautiful palette. I tried the Nubian Earth palette and it was the 1st palette I've tried that I liked the cool toned mattes in. I also tried ABH's Sultry mini palette. I like the shimmers but struggle a bit with the mattes. I really enjoyed Beachy, Earthy, Electric Pink and the Beauty and the Beast palette from Sigma. I'm just totally digging an earthy + beachy vibe lately, and pastels.

I have a little chuckle when you say some colours do not work for you. It is so obvious to me you are a Summer in the colour analysis system; a text book example Muted cooler colours are you 100%. Bold golds and super saturated warm greens won't suit you too well. You seem to intuitively know all this as what you gravitate to becomes you so beautifully.
