Hello I got a hamster 2 days ago and i have a tank toys hide out heavy food bowl and 6 inches of bedding I've noticed my hanster rolls in her food bowl so i decided i would get her a sand bath i have the little container thingy for the sand bath but idk what sand to use i have a dwarf hamster

Yes, seriously! I'm about to buy the Mamble one after watching this, using the link she provided. I want my new Syrian girl to have plenty of space! She currently has the tiniest little cage, but Petsmart does NOT stock anything suitable for Syrians. She's already starting to scale the walls and chew a bit on the bars, so I'm trying to rush the shipping so she can get happy and stress free as soon as possible!

Thank you so much about your advice for cages. I got my hamster 2 weeks ago and I got her very small cage what they sell in pet stores. I did not know what size of cage hamster requires so i asked the employees but they said "i dont know" "they only need small cage" ... so i trusted them, silly me. Yesterday i was watching videos and researching hamsters and i got really bad anxiety because I want my hamster Fufu to be happy. I made her a bin cage which is much much bigger and she seems very happy and she burrows herself into the bedding. I love my hamster so much and I want her to have the best life I can give her so thank you for helping people like me !!! ❤❤ pet store employees dont rlly care about the animals they just want to sell their products....

Traumkissen Dreams lol these cages are all perfectly fine for a hamsters, most of them have a floor space over the minimum size, which is even better. They are all okay for a hamster.

I've been watching your channel for a couple of years as I've always loved hamsters. I had two when I was a kid, but my parents never wanted us to have another one after that. So I've been patiently waiting and now, 8 years later as I'm moving into my own place, I am really looking forward to being able to keep hammys again! I can't wait! :)

I have the Prevue 528 for my hamster but its also made for guinea pigs, hedgehogs, and ferrets. For anyone wondering it is NOT suitable for guinea pigs and ferrets. It is probably suitable for a hedgehog, but it will be very small. Also, this cage (Prevue 528) should not be used for rats as it is not tall enough. Gerbils can use this, but many people will recommend a tank. Mice can also use this, but the bars are too big. For dwarf hamsters, you might want to add mesh especially on the corners to prevent any escapes. I hope this has helped anyone that is thinking to buy this cage!

Do you like it for your hamster? I adopted a Syrian and have the kaytee cage, but I don't love it so I just got the prevue in the mail and I'm about to assemble it.

@@vmorris7639 hi if you are still wondering, I think its pretty good for the price. Of course, it has room for improvement, but overall I think its pretty good. Definitely recommend. Also, you probably know this, but the majority of kaytee cages are too small. She (tori) probably mentioned this, but the minimum is 450 sq inches. thx for asking the question

Hey, thank you so much for this video. Originally me and my sister had both of our dwarf hamsters in critter trails. I was looking at hamster care videos and came across your videos. I did not know that critter trails were too small. We now have upgraded them to bin cages. Thank you so much for these videos they help so many people.

IM FEELING SO SAD ABOUT WHAT I SAW SO FAR..... in a shop I saw that they have about 7 poor rabbits in one small cage with only ONE water bottle... And about 15 or more hamster in a very small aquarium cage with NO toys and only one water bottle. And if they had one baby Syrian hamster they would put him with dwarf hamsters which made me go crazy....so I made them put that poor hamster in another really small cage but by herself which is much better.... I always try helping these hamsters by giving them some fruits and vegetables... Edit: I came to that pet shop and they told me that the baby hamster died....it seemed that after I went, they got that baby hamster and putted him back to the dwarf hamster cage....so cruel Btw I rescued a female Syrian hamster :)

Report them to your nearest animal protection agency. They'll probably shut the pet store down and rehome the animals.

fluffyツ sadly my country does not have animal protection or something like that.... Because my country does not have a lot of pets and vets.... This shop is probably the only shop that sell hamsters... And I rescued one, and she is happy now, you can see her on my profile picture

im so relieved that the cage i have is on there i was panicking but it seems okay i have the savic hamster heaven metro cage, i have taken out the levels and i have purchased a bigger wheel which is 11 inches, my hamster escaped through the tubing so i took it out but i made up for it by putting more tubes in, since i found your channel i have been able to hold my hamster without her biting. i love your channel so much and i spend so much time binge watching your channel i also love you so much your so amazing and always provide amazing facts

I have Ikea detolfs for both of my Syrian hamsters and they absolutely love it!! Me and my family are not all that great at working with tools so for the lid we simply took these wire Matts (similar to those square grids) and cut it down to size to fit on the inner bars of the cage and that works absolutely perfect

1:25 that’s the cage I have! The only downside is that my hamster’s fallen from the loft to the bottom of the cage once. He’s never done it again, but even so, I’m going to put cardboard on the side so he doesn’t fall again. The top is the only place to put a water bottle, so if you’re going to get this cage, please please put up something to prevent your hammy from falling! Otherwise it’s a great cage, and there’s plenty of safe places for them! Hope this helped!

I have the Prevue for my Chinese hamster, and it IS FANTASTIC. It gives my hamster so much space, it's simple, sturdy, easy to clean, a great price for the size.

I got my hamster waffles a few weeks ago and I’ve recently found out thanks to this video that she doesn’t have enough floor space. I bought one of the new petsmart cages that they just came out with but now I think I will make a bin cage, since it’s a lot cheaper and waffles will probably be a bit happier than she is now. She’s been scared of me through the taming process and I haven’t been able to tame her yet. Thank you so much for this video!

I got a hamster from my cousin maybe two days ago. She’s had it for maybe 3-4 months and she didn’t want it so I took it. I did everything to make it feel welcome. But I decided to get more educated on hamsters so I looked up videos and saw yours. It made me realize that my cousin didn’t really care about the hamster and I felt so bad. So my brother and I are saving up to buy it a huge cage and a couple more toys so he feels happier, Whenever he wakes up after a couple of minutes I put him in his ball so he can explore. You’re videos really help with new hamster owners.

Just make sure to measure the inside first! The bins I mentioned are from specific places so others with the same QT or gallon may not have the same measurements!

Victoria Raechel the one I'm getting is 20 gallons and it's a bin but I'm going to make it two stories is that ok? I'm getting a robo and that's the biggest bin I could get at the moment. Do you think making it the two stories is enough or should I try to save more?

My Syrian hamster loves her Prevue 528! It was very easy to assemble and the fact it has both a door on top and a door on the side (both are 12.5" wide) makes it so great for accessibility for spot cleaning and for retrieving your hamster. I also love the fact it has 6" of depth on the base for adding plenty of bedding for burrowing. I was able to fashion an extra perch for my hamster from a previous CritterTrail shelf and tubes which gives her another place to play. So far I love this cage and was also able to attach a Silent Runner wheel to it and is accessible via the platform that comes with the Prevue 528. Great cage and I highly recommend it!

I used to have a critter trail cage for my hamster but by watching your videos it has inspired me to get a bigger cage for my hamster. she now lives in a 51-gallon aquarium which has 720 square inches of floor space and she is a lot happier. I feel so pleased. I got my hamster the 'savic hamster heaven metro cage' and now I know it was a good choice. I had a smaller one when I first got my hamster but after only two weeks I could tell she wasn't happy in the space so I went all out. She is so much happier and loves the tunnels 😊

THANK YOU SO MUCH, We just bought a wheel cage and hideout thanks to you! My hamster (Buddy) has had the SMALLEST cage forever and he's getting to be about a year old. My mom never wanted to get him a bigger cage because their expensive and the times he's been able to have a bin cage my cat almost ate him (He's lived both times) so she didn't ever budge on her opinion and now he's FINALLY getting the cage of my dreams. Ily so much :DD Love from Buddy and I. Btw the hideout is multi chamber and the wheel Is an 8.5 inch (the best I could get). He's a black syrian as you can see from my pfp. :D

I’m so glad I changed my hamster cage! Before mine was waayyyyy to small ( approx 350 square inches) but now I got a new one similar to most of these ones! Thanks to you my hamsters now living a happier and healthier life

My brother and I got our hamster a week ago she has a small cage and we truthfully stereotyped it sadly as that she doesn’t need a big one but we researched and watched your videos the night we got her and now we are getting her Prevue one in the mail soon, I’m so excited for her and we. I have the hamster heaven metro cage and it is SO good! I recommend it as it’s really fun and it’s easy to switch out the slides and ladders and you can fill up lots of bedding under the pink level for a hideout and the green top is really good to sleep in!

Love this video I'm thinking about buying one of these cages. I know this is late but it would be nice for a little more info on each cage, such as prices, possible stores where they can be sold, maybe wheel size, etc. but other that that, keep up the good work!

I have the Barney Pet Cage - the size is really good but the downside is that the doors at the side are a bit too small so it makes taming a bit harder. But I still survived with that. There’s also a big door at the top of the cage. 👍👍👍

I advise the bathtub method, AKA sitting in the bathtub with your hamster (with blankets and towels incase they jump from your hands or fall off of you) because then your hamster can figure out what you are, mine was tamed quicker and alot less shy or stressed instead of (I tried this at first) the normal method where I stuck my hands into the cage, never worked really.

I definitely would make a mesh lid since cardboard can be very easily chewed resulting in an escaped hamster

Update: because of your channel, I got the Pervue 528 (I think it’s called) and really loaded it with bedding, hides, toys and a sand bath, plus a big ol wheel. My son’s hamster was sooo happy. He came home and sniffed around a bit before burrowing in nice and cozy! He must have felt so happy making his tunnels. Thank you so much. ❤️

Plus you’re incredibly sweet and kind, genuinely care a ton about your animals, have amazing set ups for them and it’s obvious how passionate you are about hamster welfare. im glad this video was here! my syrian hamster currently has a pets at home large cage... its way too small around 200 square inches i think. im selling most of my games to buy her one of these cages! the cage was fine when she was fine but now that she is bigger she doesnt have much room :< atm ive added some hanging hides for her to venture in until a new cage is ordered! thanks for making videos like these!! i have decided on buying the Little Friends Grosvenor Rat and Hamster Cage

I bought a hamster two weeks ago and I got him a 40 gallon aquarium. I wanted a bigger one but 40 is all that can fit in my room unless I got rid of my bed lol.

The prevue 528 is actually 617 square inches. My friend has this cage and it works really well for her! I recommend buying this cage

SoCalPets well their are some cons like the level makes it kinda hard to spot clean and sometimes bedding slips out the back of the drawer but some good things are that the level are easily removable, it has a mesh lid, and the wood is waterproof. so you just have to consider those things but i personally dont have any huge issues with it.:)
