If you write a protocol book I would buy it on a heartbeat! Your practice, medical research is grossly underappreciated at the moment IMO. More people are getting informed and I hope you continue to evolve your KZfaq channel to serve a potential huge audience in the near future. You do so much more to this specific topic of microbial holistic medicine than any other popular MD on KZfaq. Best material I have seen on the internet!

@@gutmicrobiomequeen Hello doc, I have been following and understanding contents of your channel/episodes. Thank you, you’re the encyclopedia ❤️ My symptoms : Leaky stool, extremely foul smelling farts. Non-stop gas/flatulence after meals. Rarely rarely accompanied with bloating. No pain if any sort. Slimy, gooey, extremely smelly stool. No constipation at all. Based on different episodes I have heard, my symptoms seem to me more aligning with hydrogen sulphide in colon. Are there any specific tests I can request my GI to confirm this. Butyrate, zinc and probiotics. Some herbal - oil of oregano and ginger. Am I missing anything??

Thank you so much for sharing such specific information. I watch your videos all the time and have learnt so much! ❤ I so badly want to be able to take NAC and glutathione however I have very strong negative reactions to them. I also have high desulfovibrios and e.coli. I found this video by the Gut Microbiome Foundation and the findings explain that cysteine can be broken down by these bacteria and can produce hydrogen sulphide which would explain why I feel so unwell when taking these supplements. So now I'm doing all I can to crowd out these H2S-producing bacteria with PHGG, Lactulose, GOS and a high fibre, low cysteine diet and I feel it is slowly helping. As these bacteria also eat bile I am currently off saturated fatty foods including coconut oil, and not eating chicken, beef pork or anything else with high cysteine levels. I'm just waiting for the results of my 16s test so will report back if I've managed to reduce these H2S producers 🙏🤞 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ldKXpKuqnMXXkps.htmlsi=NER5NmkioJqbgFjq

Great video thank you so much for putting this together - and it was not too long - it was information packed! Just to say I've had some negative experiences with NAC in this context, and wonder if the sulphur in it is not helpful. Also Greg Nigh's book "The Devil in the Garlic" is an interesting resource - basically low sulphur diet, daily Epsom salt baths, molybdenum (plus some other supplements). I have also seen this work and it may be worth a try before going in with the oregano. You were referring to sulphur metabolism more broadly, and he dives into this, so you're maybe already familiar.

There are studies that you can take Iron with Lactoferrin and it will make sure the iron isn't used by the bad buggies. The studies are pretty amazing! One thing to consider though is that if the lactoferrin isn't enteric coated, the stomach acid will eat it up, so have them together before or between meals.

Luckily it was a very clued in GP (in Aust) that took a guess and told me what I had. oregano oil and Black seed oil def have helped me , liquid herbal mix with stuff in to calm the pain and bloating , tick. Looking back in my teens overuse of antibiotics, I believe caused a lot of damage. Tick to finding out I had H- pylori, campopylobacter and EBVat some point along the way, tick. I have also realised I-have a sulphur sensitivity and yes have mtfhr gene mutation. Please yes, doing a video explaining the sulphur connection would be awesome. My symptoms were very crazy weird. Dr Kirkamm is a German specialist and also has videos for hydrogen sulfide sibo. Unfortunately withput Englisch subtile I think bit he also recommends GOS, oregano oil, bismuth and moreover zinc acetate and molybdenium since the enzyme that breaks down sulfate needs this. I have hat good results with supplementing molybdenium 200 micro grams per Day and oregano oil as well. Wishing everyone good luck with this, it can be quite stubborn and take some time.

20:57 The issue with iron is cetainly tricky. Iron deficiencies are linked to gastrointestinal disorders, but several lines of evidence advice against taking oral iron supplementation as it can enhance the activity of certain pathogens (you mention Desulfovibrio) and lead to inflammation (possibly also through free radical induction). Furthermore, sulfur reducing bacteria (SRB) thrive with iron (I know because they grow super slow in the lab with iron-depleted media), thus it might be best to attempt supplementing only after H2S-producers and SRBs have been greatly reduced. Great work btw!

Caution on the Klaire Labs product. They combine the GOS with another ingredient and report the COMBINED quantity of the two. If you ask them directly "how much GOS" they tell you "that's proprietary". Since GOS is expensive and the other ingredient is cheap, that's a very poor business practice and very suspect.

Iron is most abundant in our diets. Problem with iron are the things that work with iron copper and b vitamins which also will help ATP. I tried iron once and it makes me worse. Copper gives me energy. Also low sulfur diet means low choline and low choline is needed for absorption of B12 and magnesium. Choline needed for liver to digest fats so not eating sulfur means poor digestion of fat and protein foods. And I also have candida so no macro is safe which is why I can't eat a lot of food, not enough for my energy

Oh, it's not that I'm against using berberine! Or oregano or neem. They are all useful *in moderation.* It's fine to do a single round of antimicrobials for SIBO after youve gotten your body ready. But, most people do round after round for years on end. Also, a lot of people use way too high of a dose when they take antimicrobial herbs (I mostly blame Allison Seibecker for this). Either or both of these get you into dangerous territory killing off too many good microbes.

Hi. Ppl who are mercury toxic don’t do always do well with supps like ALA or glutathione, (it activates mercury and moves it around and can cause issues like Sulphur/thiol sensitivity) is there an alternative to the bismuth supp that has ALA? I also used NAC at one point and it was not great (again with the mercury). I’ve done so many protocols for gut without success and I think it’s due to mercury toxicity from amalgams. Very tricky to heal all this. But gotta keep trying.

I'm not a doctor but i have CFS/ME and the people in a fb group I'm in specializes in giving each other advice for lowering lactates as a way of healing your damaged mitochondria in CFS/ME (slowly). We follow the B1 protocol and NAC is a big part of that. A lot of people in the fb group can't tolerate NAC (including me) for unknown reasons and the founders of the group (none of which are doctors) recommend lowering sulfates and supplementing 2mg Molybdenum. Dr. DiNezza did mention in this video that there might not be a correlation between the sulfates in your cells and the sulfates in your gut:( I just thought I'd share it with you. Although I don't have any mercury issues as far as I know, my gut issues will flare up if I take NAC. I also cannot handle glutathione. Nausea and gastritis being my biggest issues. I have also tried phosphatidylserine (lipids) and ALA that my func med doc suggested, but I get nauseuos from that as well. How did you figure out that mercury was your root cause?

@gutmicrobiomequeen
@gutmicrobiomequeen 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, SIBO treatments can absolutely lead to SIFO and/or fungal overgrowth. The two main things that are known to cause fungal overgrowth are antibiotics (and therefore, to some extent, antimicrobial herbs, if they are over-used/abused) and restricted diets (particularly if they are FIBER restricted, as most "SIBO diets" are). I have a few videos about candida on this channel that you can check out. Hello doc, I have been following and understanding contents of your channel/episodes.

I have a question. I follow a lot of chris kresser And he talks about how hard it is to completely eradicate Sibo. It seems that I can always manage my symptoms but I can never completely eradicate. I remember listening to one of his podcast and He recommends start Adding in starch after so many months of scd .

IMO, SIBO is generally not that hard to treat. It's just horribly, horribly mismanaged. Unfortunately, this includes 95% of "functional" docs, "integrative" docs, and naturopaths :(

I actually had this over growth and another one but can’t recall the name and was prescribed Cystistatin which is higher dose of uva Ursi and about 200mg of berberine. At my next GI stool test we had eradicated it so i guess it worked!

Hi Dr DiNezza, Do you think it's worth getting SIBO tested as well, or is it enough to go off the results of a 16s test? I've got a large overgrowth of Methanobrevibacter Smithii, Desulfovibrio and Bilophila. Plus low Bifido and Faecalibacterium. So I'm currently taking Allicin Max and Atrantil for the Methanogen overgrowth. Unfortunately I don't seem to tolerate probiotics well. And I also believe I have low stomach acid. I'm planning on getting the Methanogens and H2S producers down first and then focus on probiotics+ prebiotics (hopefully my tolerance will increase). Do you have any suggestions? I believe this was caused by COVID / long covid.

Hi, I am in the same boat as you. Since Covid my 16s tests are showing very high desulfovibrios, e.coli and low bifidos. I was wondering if you've found any improvements with treatments yet? Many thanks

For sensitive individuals do you recommend titrating up on the ADP Oregano? If so how slow? My functional doctor wants me to do Dr. Siebecker's protocol but I definitely don't want to do more harm then good like you mentioned. I couldn't agree more on not destroying the gut.

I was looking where to buy PHGG and came across this. I have SIBO Who should not take prebiotics? If you have Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) or FODMAPs intolerance, prebiotics are also not recommended.

Thanks for another informative video, I follow your channel closely and love what you have to say. On this topic, I’m curious about the GOS and other prebiotics as I have H2S overgrowth. Problem is, I also have hydrogen SIBO and I can’t tolerate any FODMAPs. I’m not sure how to reintroduce, if I need to just push through the reactive symptoms or if it’s even a good idea in this case. Any thoughts?

I just don’t understand how I don’t tolerate so many of the supplements listed. Even just a ginger ale soda gives me sulfur or acid breath the next day. Not sure which one. Oregano sends my immune system in high alert and is too stimulating or too strong. Nac def a no no as well for me.

I LOVE that you bring this up! I've posed that question about H2S in FODMAP Freedom for quite some time, and when I was researching for this series the VAST MAJORITY of the studies on H2S were about it's BENEFICIAL effects. So, I think it's entirely plausable. Or at minimum, H2S isn't some intrinsically evil thing that we must get rid of entirely- it's just something that can be out of balance.

Why do you think taking beef liver got rid of my sulfur sibo? I am thinking copper. I've taken proper copper aka mitosynergy and had horrific H2S die off. So I started trying to get it from liver, a little more natural and bioavailable approach. But I've always said the liver is a mitochondria superfood, so maybe that's why it helped so much...

I am one of those people that cannot tolerate sulfur and have known this since the first sulfua drug I took as a teen for something. I get a headache taking MSM and I also have gene SNPs MTHFR a1298c, COMT V158M & H62H, CBS, VDR Tag, MAO-AR297R. I have struggled with gut and sleep issues that is my main reason for looking for you and I have to say you are the Queen. I love your presentation style and the info you speak on is immense and I love it because I am a information junkie plus I am a health hacker. I started taking a probiotic that I got from my NP at bed time along with B6 and a sleep drink called Zenbev which I have been getting good results but I am stuffed up and have been having nasal issues in the AM so tonight I am going to add taking Culturelle and see if that helps. Plus I am going to try drinking Lavender Essential oils (2 drops) to a gal of water and will try 1 8oz glass to see if I sleep through the night. If I don't I will do what Doterra recommends and try one drop in 4 oz of water. I just found your site so I am still plowing through info if you got anything to add or point me to I would love that otherwise some info on sulfur would be great too.♥

Quercitin caused me terrible gut pain and explosive diarrhea. Not sure what caused it, it's high in salicylates as well. Thought you use it as a mast cell stabilizer but it inflamed my gut like crazy. It also caused increasing neuropathy/nerve burning it still didn't subside one week later.

Hi, I tried NAC and glutathione and became really unwell. I later found out that desulfovibrio degrades cysteine which are components of NAC and glutathione and produces hydrogen suphide as a bi-product. Which is why it might not be a good idea to take these if you have SRB. I learned the hard way. @@wildKrafter
