Exactly my reasoning for sticking with an LX. It’s a no brainer. Why add all the cons of a turbocharger for negligible performance. The LX is the way to go due to the engine. No one really needs the extra gadgets on the EX.

I bought my 2019 CR-V LX AWD with the 2.4 liter engine back in August of 2019. I love everything about the car! It is my third CR-V in 16 years.

Just bought one with 60k miles after test driving a Subaru crosstreck and a rav4. It drove way smoother and it has a lot of cargo space. So happy I bought it

Thanks for posting this. I couldn't agree more. So much so that we just bought a CPO 2019 with just under 15k on it. Liking the vehicle quite a bit (we even have the same color as yours!). I want to thank you for saying less is more because the additional features are likely to break down the road. I would have like seat warmers and heated side mirrors as standard equipment but I lived without them before and I can do it again. lol.

I was just lucky enough to buy a certified preowned 2018 LX that only had 9100 miles on it. Supposedly the previous owner had some health problems.

2020 LX with AWD 1.5 Turbo here... Smoked tail lights on the 2020 but anyways it's awesome no smell at all and when I hit the parkway it flies motor sounds strong... Last car is a 2009 fit sport

I recently bought the exact same 2019 Honda CR-V LX this is my 3rd and one 15 Pilot LX I always buy the LX model and I only had an issue with the 2010 the a/c compressor had to be replace exactly a month after the warranty expired. The only problem so far. Honda makes great SUV’S

2.4L is the way to go. I have a '13 EX-L with 2.4L i-vtec 💪

Im so proud of my 2022 got it used in march 2024 14,000 miles on it but it handles beautifully and amazing gas mileage

Are you still having good luck with your car? I'm shopping this over a new model and really want this engine. Also, like the new rav4 but it has issues. How does your awd do in light off road? I need to be able to travel dirt roads daily that can sometimes have big ruts and my accord can maneuver. I also need the cargo area is this rules. Thanks for any help as I've found a few with low mileage around 20K and I wonder if this is a better buy than new crv or rav4 in awd. Thanks

Just bought a used 19 LX AWD (certified) last week with only 23k. And for all the reasons you called out, so I was blown away when I came across your video, lol. I’m calling it my “moneyball” car bc it has the most overlooked features and gets a bad rap bc of CRV “inherent issues” that do not apply to the LX trim…only EX and above. Did not want the 1.5L, or the sensing. The battery issues are not bc of the car…it’s bc of the battery themselves due to the specific dimensions (52A size) that impact the internal charging plates in traditional liquid batteries. So getting an optima yellow top battery solves that issue. And lastly…you can put an aftermarket stereo in the LX whereas you get stuck with the crappy infotainment stereos in the EX and above bc they can’t be changed due to being so integrated. So with the LX, you get rid of those top 4 CRV issues!

I have a 2015 CR-V touring with the 2.4L K24W1, and just the stance of it, the front, the more classic tail light design (the lights are on the sides of the car body like I think even the 1990s CR-Vs were, whereas the new ones have the lights extending onto the rear hatch, I feel like the last gen or whatever(the generation which the 2015-2016s are a face lifted version of) look a little bit slimmer and more odd in a good way, they seem like they’re not trying to be a family suv, but more so like some sort of modernized weird semi off road compact sporty car thing. I guess it still has that old 90s type vibe to it. And with that 2.4L, I love it. I’m modifying mine to get more power and performance/feel/handling out of it and once it’s done I’ll probably post some stuff about it on Instagram or KZfaq or something, I’m going to call it the “CR-V killer” or something💀anyways yeah

Were planning to buy next year coz feb of next year my other honda accord will be fully paid. Maybe we're getting used one like this 2019..

Agreed....simple is my way too... and all motor instead of turbos.....don't mater what car you have if it's turboed, there's always high maintenance and issues in long term

1.5 liter has oil dilution and GDI causes valves to carbon up and weak CVT my brother in law had CVT failure at 74000 =$4000 bill Toyota is smart they are back to regular transmissions for the RAV 4

I've got the 2019 LX, and I bought it specifically because of the engine. Literally zero mechanical issues in the five years I've had it. I'm going to keep it until the wheels fall off.

Love the LX. You don't have to go thru the stereo screen to do everything. I wish you could get a moonroof as an ala carte option though.

I would gone this route as well but my 2016 lease ended in may so no choice but to lease a 2020 lx with the 1.5 turbo . I'll be able to walk away from lease in 48 months so if it has oil dilution I'll just inform service advisor at Honda to keep a record of it so theres a paper trail . I researched a lot of vehicles in the segment and they all have warts . Rav 4's recalled 40,000 units due to engine blocks cracking and their lease rates compared to Honda are sky high (4.99% at the time verses .99% due to loyalty discount rate at Honda). I actually really like the Kia Soul and would have leased one but there have been complete transmission failures at high speed reported .I'd never lease or buy a ford/chevy so thats not a consideration . So at the end of the day I went with the devil you know verses the devil I didnt .

I would never buy anything with a 1.5L turbo made by Honda. I have a 2013 Accord EX sedan with a 2.4L and will drive that thing until the wheels fall off. Looking to buy my friend's 2014 Accord EX-L V6 with premium sound system. I do enjoy the extra gadgets on the higher trims. I use my sunroof daily and thanks to having it I never use the AC, which compromises engine power. I was pondering the possibility of getting a CR-V. Love the new ones but the engine choices (turbo or hybrid) are a deal breaker.

There is no question, this is the best CR-V.

I also prefer the silver trim accents over the stupid fake wood.

These small engine turbos will be the demise of the affordable car industry that is if you like to hold on to your cars for a while......getting 150k on a car will not be common in a turbo....with that being said really only Mercedes has consistently put out durable long lasting turbos and those are in a diesel form. I greatly appreciate your advice...I would only add that if you do find yourself having to buy a turbo...some dealerships offer at no extra charge a free lifetime powertrain warranty when you follow the basic maintenance recommendations...and for the Honda CRV...I looked over the manual..and the recommendations are very reasonable. Ok good luck all.
