Man i want MS to graduate from that craplastic sooo much! The combine parts for devastator are good plastic while the constructicons are craplastic. It drives me nuts cuz magic square stuff looks so good but feels so cheap & crappy

It's crazy how they are the same size in car mode but ms is much bigger in robot mode. That's some mass shifting going on there.

I’m all in on Newage strictly because of the paint and materials. Magic Square transformations are sometimes a bit too complex for the size of the figures, while NA, despite not being as complex, are complex enough to keep things interesting and most importantly, fun. Also, I prefer the more slender bot proportions of NA, which seem to be more accurate to the cartoon (looking at you Constructicons and Megatron). That being said, the bot mode of MS Prowl has nicer proportions than the NA version. Bottom line, you can’t go wrong with either NA or MS figures. Neither is perfect, but both are pretty damn awesome.

Very interesting. I like both, but seem to like the NewAge a little more. I would like to see the NewAge next to the JinBao Devastator for size comparison.

The NA Datsuns are the reason I got into 3rd party legends figures. Then NA seekers and Soundwave made me a fan boy. But the more MS figures I got, the more I started liking their stuff better. This video just sold me on the MS Datsuns. The upcoming MS Hound, Mirage and Jazz sealed the deal for me. I’m all in for MS. I just ordered MS Devastator. The addiction is real!

Nice both great figures

Both look great. If they were both the same height in robot mode it would be NewAge all the way for me, because Magic Square is missing some important Prowl robot mode details. I need those tires behind the shoulders and peaks at the end of his wings(doors).

I've got this on pre-order, should be here in a week or so. Can't wait! I own the NA versions of Prowl and Bluestreak and as cool as they were, they're FAR too short (vs. the other MS and NA figures). I got the MS Bluestreak recently and it very quickly replaced the NA version. MS Prowl will likely do the same. I'll probably sell the NA versions then. Totally concede that NA tend to have better paintjobs and the plastic feels nicer, but MS engineering and sculpts are really improving in leaps and bounds.

I get the feeling Newage is going to do some 2.0 versions, like they already did with Bee, and apparently doing with Ironhide/Ratchet. Hopefully they make them right in the middle of these two height-wise.

Prowl is a low Key favorite of mine. I’ve several versions of prowl more than most other transformers characters

Great comparison, i think ms wins on the sculp, i love how the back of the legs are cover up ,something i wish the mp did.

I like so much Newage design, as I´ve got Prowl and Silverstreak from this mold. Detail and proportions are really cool for a toy with a transformation so simple and intuitive. It has a bit of feel from g1 toy. By the way, I admit the size of bot mode is a bit dissapointing when displayed among rest of Newage and Magic Square toys in my collection. NA Bumblebee is almost as tall as him XD. MS prowl is a nice animation-based version, surprisingly, almost same size and scale than NA´s toy on car mode. In bot mode displays so nice with rest of autobot cars, just the size the character must be. For the other way, as other recent MS bots, the alternate mode suffer of "Rubik-Cube-effect" in order to keep the complex transformation feature that gets that stilished figure, and specifically I don´t like so much that metal pin just in the middle of each rear window. I find NA car mode solved much better. I´m considering to add this MS Prowl to my collection, and display it on robot mode, near the NA one in car mode. Beautiful review and comparison, as always, on Deluxe ^--^

I dunno. NewAge is kinda missing something to be tryna pull the G1 toy look...namely the "Patrol" or "Police" stickers on the doors. 😏 As for Magic Square...that gray is odd, but not unheard of...like in the Movie...right before gettin' shot in the headlight nipple and dying...yesss. 😏😏😏 Personally, I gotta go NewAge; Magic Square's colors have been off lately (their oddly pale yellow Bumblebee 2.0, their Cliffjumper 2.0, and now Prowl).

So far as alt modes are concerned, New Age's Alt mode is way more accurate to the Datsun 280ZX. The rims on the Magic Square version are way off as they were 4 Lug, 4 Spoke Alloy wheels. The taillights on the MS are also way off, and the windows are the wrong shape. It's also strange that both of them sport Tee-Tops (w/ Light-bars to boot!), and a Non-Turbo Hood. Sorry to go all car dork - but I'm a MASSIVE fan/enthusiast of the 280ZX... Go ahead... Ask me anything

@Deluxe now with Ironhide re-issue and Starscream V1.5 do you think NewAge would revisit the datsuns? I think they’ve nailed proportions on all of their figures except for those guys

It’s cool the MS in robot mode, New Age it’s better plastic, better doors. In Car mode New Age it’s by far better because it looks like the real Car Datsun, the Magic Square doesn’t look like the real car.. it’s pretty but I still prefer New Age.. just the legs are better in MS, the 2 are cool anyways.. also the New Age resembles to the 80s toy or the drawing in the boxes in the 80s, hope New Age do a remake of the care brothers, just work on the legs.. the material it’s so cool.

Thanks for doing this! Newage is just too small. The one flaw with MS is the hollowness under the chest. Newage is actually built a bit better.. hopefully NA or some company can upsize it or make a V2 that’s a bit bigger. Like what NA is doing with Ironhide. Thanks again!

Looks like MS takes this one. I have the NA, and I like them small. NA doesn't have the head or posture quite right, but it's close enough that I probably won't swap out for MS.

I like newage I like how they look I don't care about the scale I just got more into the legends after watching some of your videos I like the smaller ones because they take up less room, I use to get only the mp scale but not any more

I did a similar comparison for my first channel between these two companies' Bluestreaks and I agree, you can't go wrong with either figure, it's just up to your preferences. But my final conclusion was NewAge all day personally, especially in alt mode. If I'm being honest I don't think either company really got the proportions right but I agree too that both of them have weird feet..but again I think the NA one works a little better with articulation and isn't as gappy. As always, great stuff here Deluxe, always helping the community with these types of vids.
