In the world of slashers, conformity reigns, but in 1984, Wes Craven defied norms with a game-changing film about a nocturnal killer. Freddy Krueger's saga offers myriad paths-do you prefer his clash with Jason or the meta twist that rewrote the rules? With no new Elm Street scares in sight, revisiting classics is the next best fix. One such gem, once overlooked, now shines thanks to Robert Englund and Lisa Wilcox's memorable performances. Yes, we're looking at an era where the slasher movie ran wild over cinemas everywhere. Today, we're looking at "Real Slashers."
SERIES SYNOPSIS: Ahhh the 80's. A simpler time where the blood ran red, the tits swung freely, and the weed was copiously smoked. A time where rampant killers were simply excuses for excessive sex and over-the-top murder. Yes, we're looking at an era where the slasher movie ran wild over cinemas everywhere. Today, we're looking at "Real Slashers."

That's a sheep, not a goat. It stems from the mental exercise of counting sheep to help one fall asleep. Very clever inclusion by Wes Craven.

I can't remember my exact age 8 or 9, when this movie came out, but I can tell you exactly where I was when I first saw the commercial for it. In my bedroom, about 9:30 at night and that scene of the little girls jump roping and singing scared the crap out of me

ANOES is my favorite franchise. I'll admit, there was a brief time as a teen in the 90s when I thought Michael was king, but I later found that it was the Nightmare films I always came back around to most often. So many memorable moments. So many strong nostalgic ties. Even the weaker entries in the series have some undeniably iconic scenes in them.

I saw this and clicked IMMEDIATELY. ANOES is the all time goat in my opinion, and has been since 1985. I still have my original VHS. Edited fun fact. The reason Rod (the actor Jsu Garcia under the stage name Nick Corri) looked sweaty all the time in the movie is because he was in real life, during filming doing heroin as he was an addict. He was actually high during the jail cell scene while filming.

I freaking LOVE the first one It made me a Wes Craven fan until today And I did cried when he passed because the world lost a real talent Back to Elm Street Nightmares Robert Englund was born to play him. He did a whole complete job creating his manners and speaking tones. He made the most menacing villain ever The story in the first is well written and the movie was perfectly executed The switch in the lead, the tone, the villain and the end. IT'S A TREAT AND FREDDY KRUEGER IS THE BEST/WORST VILLAIN EVER Dude killed kids, and once stopped he came back to finish his work. THAT'S SOMETHING HUGE I'll say that the third and the fourth are pretty good, but not at the level. And then Wes Craven's New Nightmare gave me hope again Because it was pretty cool The first one was the real breaker and set a new level of horror. Specially with the whole package: plot, screen, direction, acting, setting, everything I'll forever love it And maybe I'll watch it tonight just for the nostalgia

Can you find "Boogeyman 2" from the late 70's or early 80's, it was the only movie I turned off at the beginning when I was 7 y/o. Near the start of the movie, a girl was compelled to shove scissors in her throat while looking out the bathroom window, that's all I remember. It might not be a part 2 it's just what was labeled on the mixed VHS tape of movies I came across. This has bugged me for years not being able to find anything like I remember, but since I was young, and scared me so much that it also could have been a nightmare, I had great nightmares back then. Hopefully JoBlo or maybe you guys out there could help me fix this and find out if the movie exists or not, I just want to face that fear again and maybe scare me like a kid again, please, and thank you.

they always say those who play the bad guys in the movies are the nicest guys in real life. must be something about getting to sublimate your basest instincts.

Elm Street 1,2,4,5 will always be the best of the series and I definitely have a soft spot for the remake

New Nightmares not a sequel... itd either be a reboot, or a imo a spinoff. Freddy isnt actually Freddy in it. So...

The best part of the remake is Jackie Earl Haley as Freddy, the rest is not good except the first kill and the concept of the micro naps was interesting. Part 3 and a new nightmare are also really good.
