It truly is an overall amazing watch. Not because it’s a Rolex but overall the design and color scheme of the watch is just top tier

Yup I think it’s a great watch to either wait to get at the AD or on the secondary market. The price on these are so solid you could probably get it on the secondary, wear it, ask the AD to get it for you too, and when it comes in at the AD just sell the one you got on the grey market and you probably will break even on it.

I put my name down and got the call a week later but I was unable to collect, then they rang me again about 3 weeks later for another one which I was able to collect. Couldn’t believe my luck. Maybe the dealer just liked me and knew I wasn’t a flipper.

It’s a nice watch but I wish they would’ve done it for the 39mm explorer. I feel like the time only configuration on a two tone watch will make it look more like a ladies watch imo but again just comes down to preference

@@monarchtimepiececollection If rolex did a no date TT sub I would be all over that, I like time only pieces, the 36 explorer is the smallest I would probably wear on my 6.5 inch wrist (the drastic taper from 19-14)….it’s seems like the TT explorer is extremely divisive…just curious you’re thoughts.

The dials aren’t as busy, the cleaner aesthetic is a lot easier to look at and wear, it’s easier to set lol, and usually has a lot more symmetry than watches that have complications. A two tone no date sub would be so clean. I like the 36 explorer but for my preference I don’t like my datejust 36mm and I’m considering trading up to the new 40mm explorer

Definitely a good piece to get at that price point. For me personally, I think spending a little more for the model that I have is worth a price difference. The ceramic bezel will give you the peace of mind of not scratching it, the hour markers are a bit bigger and more prominent and fill out the dial a bit more, the bracelet has solid end links, and given the fact that it has 18 karat gold it gives it a bit more weight, and the clasp is a little nicer. Given the fact if you’re already spending $10,000 I think spending the extra 4000 to 5000 is worth it for all of those upgrades. Not to mention, I’m sure it has a better movement. Nonetheless, it is an iconic watch and it really does come down to preference.

Thanks bud! Tough choice but I would go with the bluesy. It’s a bit more versatile compared to the Pepsi. Unless if it’s the Pepsi on a jubilee. Given the fact that the grey market prices are relatively close I’d go with the bluesy because you’re not paying THAT much over retail. Plus it actually has precious metal in it so it has that added weight to it which is nice. The sunburst blue dial is 1000x nicer than the plain black dial. So I’d say try them on for sure at least. Take pictures of them on your wrist and see which one you’d gravitate towards more given the events you’ll be attending and wardrobe.

You'll pay a lot more for the GMT and if you don't need the time telling functionality of a GMT, why wait the extra time to receive one and pay so much more. The Bluesy makes a strong statement and is arguable the most recognized Rolex watch. Just be discreet and don't flash it in sketchy areas. Cheers!

I agree. The GO SeaQ has a better dial, better bezel action, and it comes in different sizing. Plus the larger model has that exposed caseback. I’m considering I’m trading the sub for a Polaris date, but being that it is a 42mm it wear a little larger on my wrist :/

A service from a reputable watch maker is gonna cost $500-700. I know because I’ve spoken with them. Nothing but cleaning and applying some oils to it. Turn around rate isn’t that bad. If you want it done at Rolex then yes it’ll take a while longer. It’s a simple time and date function watch with a thick case giving it some WR. Shouldn’t be too bad to service along with the fact that a bluesy out of service will never ever be worth 55-60% of MSRP. These hold value rather well with or without warranty. Every watch needs to be serviced regardless. Yea you can a watch that meets the “specs” but trust me when I say very few watches come close to the quality of a Rolex. Forget status. They’re made with the best materials, rarely have lemons coming from the factory, well made, and hold value better than anything you’ll find at MSRP for $4k. Not to mention if you get a watch at MSRP for $4k you’re guaranteed to lose money on it if value retention is something you’re bringing up. But nonetheless, buy what you like for the reasons why you like it.
