The BEST route up SNOWDON! - Watkins path and Miners track - 15 Mile Solo Hike

Are you searching for the best route to hike up Snowdon? Well you've come to the right place! This combination of the Watkins path and Miners track is perfect for an adventurous day out in Wales! It’ll take you right to the summit of Snowdon and if you want you can even checkout the view from Garnedd Again and Crib Goch! Next it’ll take you down to the Glaslyn and Llyn Lydaw lakes - which I actually decided to take a wild swim in!
It's a beautiful route that isn’t as busy as the Llanberis Path. It has some steep inclines and has one of the highest elevation gains out of all the routes up Snowdon - but trust me the effort is equal to the enjoyment on this beautiful hike! Its quieter, more fun and you get to see a really wild side of this beautiful mountain!
You can then choose to catch a ride back to the car park from the Pen-y-Pass car park OR continue to challenge yourself and head down the valley towards the start of the Watkins path yourself! (This is what I did in the video!)
I had a really great time doing this, it gave me a unique perspective on the area and gave me plenty of time to rack up a few more miles for myself! A 15 mile Solo Hike all in!

Just been reading about what you like to do on Harpenden Local ! Wonderful You Tube pieces of your walks. My daughter climbed Snowdon last week and had no visibility like you had ,permanent drizzle for her but did swim in the lakes! Following you with interest,my daughter will love it,I’m sure! Thanks for sharing, what a fabulous video. Really enjoyed it, what a day you had for it. Went up Snowdon once, went up the Minners track and kinda followed the train track back due to awful weather. Love this video! Your camera skills show off Snowdonia perfectly. I walked up the Pyg track when I went and it was beautiful but so busy on the narrow parts. This looks like an awesome route so will have to try it out next time I go, thank you!

I loved the Watkin Trail so much. It was really cloudy, but it is what sparked my love for hiking. I've just done Scaffel Pike and plan on doing Ben Nevis next year, and 3 peaks in 3 days the year after that.

You make it look so easy. We went up on the 26th last yr, the hottest day apparently, then 2 days later it persisted down and when we got to the top lae on miners. It went cold too. This yr we have ALL the gear needed, not just some, so, were extremely prepared. We're hoping to go up Snowdon again next month. Did Llanberis and miners last July. Hard on my old knees though lol were doing the rangers this time and camping outside Llanberis.

Grrr I’ve never had views like that i always get mist and fog on the tops of our highest peaks, did Watkins last June excellent way up, can’t wait for my Alps trip in September and always get excellent weather. It’s great having a campervan in tow you can do so much more 👍

Was it me or did I detect a slightly more purposeful stride at the beginning on the way up to Snowden compared with your other hiking videos?! Most of your videos are 'walked' and this was definitely a stride as I'm guessing you were keen/excited to get to the top! 💪👍 This route is going on the list.. keep it up! Scafell pike and ben Nevis next?

100% mate! I was raring to go when I first started this hike! I think I would have finished it twice as quicker had my tripod not snapped in half!!😭😂 I’d like to really start pushing myself moving forward! Mountains mountains mountains! That being said, I’m deffo going to keep going to these bigger spots, but I also don’t want to trap myself in a corner with just the big names - so might throw in a few Canal hikes here and there too 🥳😂 Thanks for the support man I appreciate it loads!👊
