What if we told you, that the best way to practice having a conversation in your target language, is by speaking your native language? It's true! In this tutorial, Ben is going to share with you one of our favorite methods for boosting your conversational skills in a new language - crosstalk!
In short, crosstalk is a strategy where you speak with a native speaker of the language you're studying. Here's the kicker, you'll both speak in your native language. The biggest problem I'm having is that my native tongue is pretty out there. So I'd be forced to effectively lie and set English as my native language (while having a bit of an accent). I have a good enough command of English grammar and vocab that I could probably pass as a native speaker, but it still feels wrong to do it. Any advice?

Just being honest and saying, "I can crosstalk in Albanian and English" can work! You don't need to lie to people that you're a native speaker. Most people won't care, and the ones who do, you probably don't want to talk to anyway 😂 But also, if you can find someone learning your Native Language, they'll appreciate you even more! Even if it takes a while to find a partner, they'll probably make a better partner. I hope this helps! - Ben

I'm starting to belive in the dead internet theory, it's easier to use classic methods or speak to an IA to try to find a decent human being on those pages.
