The Best Way to Get Back Mount for White Belts (I still use at Black Belt)

Recently I got a question from a White Belt who has recently looked to add more Back-Takes to his game.
So, I figured it I would show you guys one of the best ways to get to back mount that works well for White Belts and will continue to work well for you untill you're a Black Belt.
This one is a Jiu-Jitsu back take that is super fundamental, and works at any level, while also being simple enough to not overwhelm the average BJJ practitioner.
The reason why I'm showing this as a "White Belt" video is becuase this is 1 of the techniques I show early on to my newer BJJ students that works really well for them when it comes to getting to back mount.
Hopefully you find these ideas helpful if you were struggling to take the back.

Kimura gift wrap the best back take there is and such a deadly submission position if they don’t want to give up the back as well

I literally did tha specific back take the other month to another white, i only know it bcz i had a purple to do it to me so its good to see it shown

Chewie, quick question. Why do you keep the shin lateral to the back? My coaches explicitly told me not to do that because a strong individual could roll back into you and knock you over if they produce enough momentum. They end up falling directly into your guard if done correctly. And I know it works because it’s been both done to me and I’ve done it to others. So I’m wondering if you’re working another detail I’m missing that otherwise prevents the opponent from barreling back into you.

You keep the rear shin parallel with their torso to avoid damaging your knee when you take the back. Because you have the figure 4 back head and arm, even if they turn into you explosively, you would be in the same orientation to their body because their elbow is trapped across your centerline

@@Taro_tanaka491 I was taught to point the knee towards the back with the ball of your foot propped against the mat. And only parallel the shin immediately before sitting. And the body orientation didn’t help too much when I got spun out of it because my training partner was able to fight my figure four grip and transition to a double under/smash pass.

It's a wedge to keep them from getting on their back again and a ramp to pull them into the back mount. I don't see the threat of your partner to pushing backwards over top of you as they would be pushing themselves into the back mount for you.

Mr chewjitsu, my name is Nicolas but I go by Nico, Im fixing to start BJJ, but my feet are very very dry feet, and i just dont want to disrespect the mat and team mates, should I use grappling socks or do you happen to have any advice for me?

If lotion won't fix your feet problem, socks should work. I know of a few black belts that wear socks on the mat. One of them wears regular socks.
