How does it work when there's no installer version on the Forge site because the version of Forge you wanna download is old? Like 1.4.7 for example?

6:00 I forgot to mention here, that you want to run .jar files with Java (Java runtime environment). I thought it would do that naturally, like it did for me in the video (making that popup happen) but for some people you might need to right click on the file, and select Java runtime environment as the app you want to open it with. If you do that if should work properly like it did for me in the video. Anyways, hope this helped.

do i have to change the name of the .minecraft folder every time? or is there a way i could put the 1.8 forge installation into my other .minecraft folder? because it seems like more of a hassle to try avoiding deleting it by accident while renaming it. (which i almost did)

when I try to open forge installer I keep getting that I have to open it with an app on my computer and before you say "you dont have java" I downloaded java multiple times just in case but Nope wont show up on the thing.

This video title is miss leading, not all versions of forge has installers to them, maybe update the video title or explain further for installation of forge versions that only have universal versions to them and not just the installation file

I have tried SO many things to get this to work. Nothing is working. Now it is just saying that i have to install it again even when i click open java when it is literally in my downloads. Then, when i click to open minecraft forge, it just says 'unable to install java. There are errors in the following switches: ' and it just says where my minecraft forge is. ok so I need help. Whenever i install forge and run the installer , it says Failed to run processor:javax.net.SSLHandshakeExeption:PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderExeption: unable to find valid certification path to requested target see log for more details. I searched up tutorials but they are really confusing and where they open the code and the console etc. for the file, they don't tell you how to open it and what file to open. if you know how to fix this please reply and make a video on it soon
