How Mojang has not done this already is beyond me. Microsoft is a billion dollar company and Minecraft is their biggest cash cow. Adding LOD would make the game more accessible to more people.

i fr played at 2 render distance and only realized after 5 min i was doing so because i was on a hill lol i usually play on 26

Another thing to keep in mind is that you can only see chunks that you've loaded before with this mod, so those chunks that won't load have never been loaded before.

For me i start with 128 and wait for it to load then double the amount until 1024 chunks

Minecraft bedrock realms are limited to 8 chunks of render distance, you'd think paying for servers they would a least allocate you some resources. It's honestly robbery

I love this mod so much. Bobby is even compatible with modded blocks and textures too, which is amazing. You can completely eliminate the first drawback (at least on single player worlds or as a server owner) of Bobby only working in chunks you have already rendered by using something like the Chunky mod to pre-generate chunks in lets say a 5,000x5,000 radius. There isn't much you can do about your fps tanking while using a huge render distance alongside shaders besides using a bunch of performance mods like Sodium and Lithium, and having a nasa computer.

They are different mods Distant horizons creates basic low quality chunks for out of render chunks Bobby just keeps chunks loaded even if outside of render so cant really compare them

since discovering distant gorizons i almost cabt handle not playing with it on. Kinda hoping on multiplayer support soon. The way it works in multiplayer now is fine but if it can send lod data to all the clients thats gonna be amazing

How this mod works is like that u need to actually visit the chunks for the mod to save them and show them later

I remember seeing ilmango play with Distant Horizons in his peaceful skyblock world. He could build farms kilometers away and still be able to see those farms back at spawn. Distant Horizons really is incredible. Glad to see it get more reach.

But does it render the actual terrain or does it create fake ones which when you travel to them they completely change in appearance. As in it renders a mountain in the distance but when you travel to it it's actually a plains biome
