Yes, you should hear the "click" of the actual light switch and then there is a "click" for power. One right after the other. I've had mine now for about 8 months, added Jerry Martin plugs to a few things...still happy with these.

@@how2q Thank you very much for getting back to me. Just wanted to make sure the double click you hear turning on / off was normal. I'll know in 9 minutes if the programmable feature works. The app was problematic but got in figured out. There is a slow blink and a fast blink the program phase offers. For some reason my app/ synced with the slow blink.. Thanks again for your video. Hope the single pole go smooter.

I don't think I used any of their plates. Fits perfectly into a decora wall plate. Had them over a year and still very happy. I have used their plugs for an outdoor fountain and cafe lights...work great. amzn.to/2CLmrWI

Need one switch per light. You then can can control lights through an app, individually or you can group them. Good luck. Still very happy after a year with them..no problems

Anything that can be switched on and off this will work with. There are numerous ways a fan can be wired: 2 switches - one for light and one for fan 1 switch- if it's just a fan 1 switch- sends power to fan and you turn on/off fan/light with pull string It will work with all of these. The one switch option is if you only have a black/white/ground wire going to fan (known as 14-2 wire). If there is a Black/Red/White/Grnd then you have 14-3 wire (which most fans with updated electrical use). Sorry for the involved answer. I know on our fans, i like to use a dimmer for the light portion of fan just because the lights can be so bright (especially if it's LED). Hope that answers the question and doesn't confuse it!lol
