Excellent progress. Yes, you need a kettle. Put together some essentials in a plastic tub. Tea, coffee, biscuits, dishwasing liquid, tea towel, cutlery, mugs, plates, toilet paper and hand soap. Throw in some cloths for washing up. Make sure you have a first aid kit on site and get some eye protection. It will make you a little more comfortable while working. Nick is a great help and fun. ❤🐨

Especially eye protection. Those small grains of dirt. You only need one to get in your eye. We have done plenty of reno's. I will always go for the eye protection first. Dust mask or old scarf was second.

Those items that you mentioned plus a microwave oven and industrial type vacuum cleaner were all taken to my new home when I commenced my renovation to make the house inhabitable. I remember getting all the items put aside at the old house ready to take to my new home as soon as I received the keys. Being a retired safety officer, I bought a new first aid kit to take to the house. I've never had to empty a vacuum cleaner as many times as I did during the renovation. We ended up sitting on outdoor folding chairs at our breaktimes with a sturdy box as our make-do table. Luckily the previous owner left the fridge, so we were able to keep milk and cans of soft drinks cool.

‘No biscuits, but I’ve got a toilet that flushes’! Ah, priorities Ryan, I do appreciate someone who has the right priorities! Well, lots of progress this week and a very good decision on the attic floor. That’s great space and it makes it usable for any purpose. A nice bedroom with ensuite or a studio just adds value to the house. Looking forward to seeing what you get up to next week, stay safe!

You are truly blessed ! You have such a good group of people around you ! Nick is such a team player; he has his own family; works with his wonderful horses, has his own channel and he still makes time to help out you and Billy. Reminds me so much of Simon ! You are learning so much And in your learning, you are actually teaching a lot of the rest of us ! I’m 65 years old and I’ve owned my own house for almost 20 years, and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched you do something - - and said to myself “ oh, so that’s how I was supposed to do it!” Keep smiling and keep up the great work !!

Simple folding table and chairs are great for construction projects. They wipe down nice. Can by stored with little space. And can be used after the project as needed.
@AnnieWarbux

Or even folding lawn chairs. Someone must have a few to spare. And, they're a bit more comfortable than hard kitchen chairs. Easier to carry up and down the stairs, if needed. They can use a storage bin or two to keep supplies safe and clean and they'll double as side tables. When working a big project, I'm a believer in having a "Work Central" Spot. Space for my phone, coffee, pop, music/speaker, to do list, supplies...

Just look around for some plastic garden furniture that everyone has laying around somewhere (I imagine your parents or Nan will have some as well). That will make your life easy because if they become to dirty they are easily washed. For a table if you have some planks laying around and some long nails I'm sure you and nick could make a makeshift table. And don't forget a plastic tote/box to keep your tea supplies dust free (you'll be glad that you have everything on the ready and dustfree when taking a break).

Nick - when my father built our home in 1959-1961, I helped him with many things, including with cutting threads on the water pipes - and I remember we used something, as you say, that resembles horsehair, packing twine blows. I was a 12-year-old girl (my father's boy)! Now I am 75 years old, and remember it all with pleasure.

Hi Ryan! Love what all you guys are doing, renovating those beautiful old houses and buildings. I started watching your channel about a year ago and I haven't missed any since. Even tho you haven't asked (sorry, I can't help myself) and it may be too pricey, have you considered taking the little bath/laundry room with the leaky roof and adding a floor or two? Then stack your bathrooms one on top of the other. That would really open up those upper floors and make your house very spacious. I just love this stuff! Keep up the good work.
