As I got older I found that I don't really need a woman.. studying stoicism was good.. always something happens they cheat they lie all I wanted was someone to be with forever to love who loves me don't cheat don't lie don't have to be Marilyn Monroe somewhat appealing wouldn't that be nice but impossible are there something wrong when all these girls do all the things they have done and you really have a hard time trusting anyone..

They are out there. Harder to find because "social involvement" right? Bet you'd have other things in common. Think of clubs or classes you'd like to take with the added feature of women more likely to take them also. Adult classes in your area? You have to think of where they might be and put yourself there, regularly. But it is still possible to meet her anywhere if you are ready. If you saw her standing 10 feet away from you, could you do the approach?

I have a lot of the traits of a sigma male and I think I have found love. It is a little early to tell, but so far it really seems right. I met her at a Super Bowl party and she and I shared a table with a few other people. I took a chance and told her that I would like her number before we left. We have been on four dates so far, including two this weekend. She really got frisky this weekend, which is OK with me. Being with her is so natural and enjoyable and I like her more each time I see her. I will be going through your love program to keep my keeper. Thanks for your advice. Your points are spot on. A reason why I prefer to remain single is because I value my freedom above anything else and will not have that taken away from me (again). A reason why I prefer to remain single is because the concept of "The One" is strange to me. I find so many ladies with who I have a beautiful yet deep (often non sexual) connection with, that I don't want to give that up. With monogamy often comes possessiveness, jealousy and restrictions, to me those are three massive red flags. A reason why I prefer to remain single is because a lot of ladies (and I do respect that) prefer 100% monogamy for life. That concept does not fit with who I am, that concept does not fit with my lifestyle. Some people tell me that it's time to settle down (at age 35) but I like freedom and there is the selectiveness (pickyness😅). A reason why I prefer to remain single is because I know exactly what kind of lady I fall for, yet it's hard to find. I'm very lucky that I don't have to chase women, women (and sometimes men) start to chase me yet I do not engage in flirting (back) if they do not have the traits I seek no matter how beautiful they may be. I compromised in the past, regretted that and promised myself to never do that again. I am open to love, yet many women flirting with me seem to want me for long term 100% monogamous, house, kids etc or as a bonus father for their child. I respect that, but it makes me anxious just thinking about it as that is not what I want. There is so much to do in the world, there is so much to discover in the world, there is so much to learn in the world whether it be the mechanics of a black hole, decoding body language, investigating the strangest mysteries or learning a new cooking recipe... I will only settle down with a lady who values freedom just as much, who is a curious mind just as I am, who lives the way she wants without caring what other people say or think and with who I can do fun stuff to our hearts desire with, yet share a room in quietness when both reading a book or doing our own thing. Until that time, I'm more that happy being single.

I've noticed I like it when the woman makes plans or comes up with ways to get me out into society. I know I put off the solitude vibe and all the Sigma traits, but I really enjoy it when I get "drug" out to do activities by the woman I like. I'm often on the sidelines observing and planning what I would do if shit hit the fan, but I love seeing my woman smiling, laughing, and doing her thing. Even better if she periodically looks over at me with a smirk or wink. And comes over to "check in" on my "wellbeing".

This was good. I do love my indendence; I find myself thinking that I would be happy being married but living apart. Not because I wouldn't care for the other person, but because I would want the time I spend with her to be spent on her and us and the time I spend alone to be spent on my hobbies and personal goals. I am for sure not the type to cheat, and I am for sure the type that needs personal space. To be honest I am very content being alone. I have a firm grip on my finances ( thank God for His many blessings and lessons ) and I don't really care what other people think about me, I do listen to them though because I am not dumb enough to think I am perfect. I try to make myself the best me I can be. I know that I am looking for a quality woman and I know that I do not need a woman to make me happy. I think that if I ever pair it should be mutually beneficial, but if she is going to be too much work I am definitely not interested because I have things I am aiming to accomplish.

You're so right about sigma's not being willing to utter trite phrases like so many others do (juice isn't worth the squeeze). Instead, he makes his own, which in most cases is just using ordinary language without any cutesy jingoism to it. Basically, he doesn't want to create, what may catch on, to where he himself will grow sick of it. IOW, he highly values original thought and he abhors what passes as common knowledge, when it's said the exact same way every time (be original, put the exact same train of thought into different words - your own). Nice for Anna to pick that up, because I'm not sure I've heard that on sigma videos before, and it is all too true.

I often believe women want so much attention, and when they don't get that, they automatically think that you don't ''like'' them anymore, demanding an explanation. I find it hard to explain that I couldn't care less about this clown world, and participate in that just because ''everyone does''. People live their lives on the phone these days, I leave it at home when I go out, not being accessible is my kind of freedom and keeps me sane.

I feel I've grown into a sigma male in a lot of ways. I just don't feel the need to follow the assembly line since I don't like society's standards very much and want to embrace life on my own terms at my own pace. Alot of people end up acting and being the same "normal" way to me, creating what feels like a boring and/or unfulfilling experience. So, you said my issue well: I wonder what is really worth it. That's why I learned to look for the right people to accept me as you said since having no love or friends is better to me than bad or unfulfilling experiences. Great advice and thanks for the confirmation.

Edit: no matter how many times I re-post this, there's always a self-centered weirdo (yes, Mr Costermans, you) who wants to make you believe this Greek alphabet thing is very much a theme in Europe. If you'd ask a random person in the street maybe 1 in 5,000 would know what a 'sigma man' is. Probably less than that.

That doesn't make it a topic everyone knows or talks about. Ask the average person in the street and you'd struggle to find more than 1 in 1000 who can tell you what a 'sigma man' is.

The term "sigma male" happens to be in innumerable videos meanwhile, and I doubt that the x thousands of viewers all understand why they are NO sigma, at least most of them. But yes, it is wellknown. Maybe not in the streets, but hej, I never meet people in the streets just like that.

Part of the flaws of the advice here is the motivation, as a sigma male, to follow it. As a sigma male taking the time and effort to decode women is like going to the dentist to get a tooth pulled. As a married sigma male (20 years) my issue is staying connected with my wife. What works for me is improving my empathy skills and listening skills. As a sigma male your brain, while your being silent your internal voice is going at the speed of light and staying focused can prove a challenge. You can be that internally focused and observant that you miss the forest from the trees. So listening and I mean really listening to someone can be a challenge as your brain tends to leap ahead of the conversation. So what I do is I have worked hard at my listening skills and then when it’s my turn to speak I try to summarize what she said and then make an empathy statement. The connections you make are almost instant. Next is learning how to share yourself. I have a bad habit of being able to have a long conversation with women without really ever telling them anything about myself. So have had to learn how to share myself and I doubt I would have remained married this long. The key is you don’t have to share everything but you do need to learn to share yourself with your partner. Those have been the keys for me to remain connected to my wife, who I love dearly but it doesn’t come naturally to me. It’s a learned skill and I’ve learned when to enjoy being in my own lane and when to share myself. It’s a constant effort at self improvement and learning how to get outside my comfort zone. It’s been worth the effort.

@@YourWingmam Oh that’s a long and romantic story. My wife is a Filipina. 22 years ago I had come out of a failed relationship and was single. I was living in North Carolina at the time when an old friend of mine, who is married to a Filipina, called me up and asked me if I was still looking for a long term relationship. I said I was, he told me his wife had a Filipina friend in the same small town in Wisconsin who had a sister who was looking for a long term relationship. I responded by saying “Wasn’t Wisconsin a bit far to go for a date?” and he responded “Oh her sister is in the Philippines.”. I at first thought he was crazy but he persuaded me to be open minded and reach out to her. So I did and we developed an LDR with lots of phone calls and text messaging and letters. Over a year and a half I visited her twice in the Philippines and met her and her family. On my second visit I proposed and she accepted. I then went home and filled a K-2 fiancee visa with US Immigration and six months later she arrived in the U.S. and shortly thereafter we were married. So technically my wife was a so called 90 day fiancée. :-)

I had posted as a comment for sigma men that learning certain skills 1.body language, 2. social dancing, 3. the cube are great for developing rapport, improving emotional connection, discerning values alignment. One point that I had forgotten, which you nailed - focused, attentive listening. Toastmaster's International emphasizes this as a worthwhile skill to develop. Your exercise of summarizing her message is something which Robert Glover emphasized to me and the others in our group. You and I appear to be very 'wordy', the trick is to provide quality of over quantity which you articulated very well. May your good luck and fortune continue!

Yup, you sure nailed it in describing my traits. All these years I've considered myself an oddball (and not caring) since I'm happy and independent. It's only recently I've discovered there's a name for it, Sigma Male! My real relationships with women have been few, but of good quality when it happens. Dear Ms. Anna, you made me cry with this one. Yikes! The worst thing about being a Sigma, is the high level of standards (Pickyness), which for the life of me, I just cannot seem to give up, especially post divorce even after 8 years. Then, I'm the bad guy bc I leave a trail of destruction even though 70% of the time, I wasn't even the one who made the first move and being clear from the first date that I am a very picky man. WTF? Secondly, and worse, the Sigma curse is that it causes every single date to fall in love with you too quickly thereby turning you around 180 degrees Celsius in blink of an eye due to the sheer low IQ nature of such a claim in anywhere less than 3- 6 months sometimes 2 months when modern scientific psychology postulates that it takes up to 2 years to even learn whether you love or not (Unless its your offspring or your mother). But of course, I'm the heartless one for terminating the new relationship despite giving more to charity than they do or my children and nephews always want be with me or even my nut job ex wife constantly trying to get back with me after almost 8 years (Not if she was the last billy-goat on the planet LOL). Thirdly, in a modern society loaded with fakes (Lying about education or accolades or fake body parts or fake pics or hypocrisy or just plain low IQ issues, etc.), modern society poses a very low probability of a successful relationships for Sigmas. Men are not much better albeit more forgiving because being hetero you obviously don't have to terminate or say 'no' but they are still difficult because they hate on you for being better than them professionally or in martial arts or skiing or blading or being life of the party while they have the personality of a Billy-goat, etc. I guess this lesson of yours made me cry bc it gets very lonely, especially as I age and your points were bang on. TY forcall your help. It's just nice to know that there are people who actually understand and care. TY Anna.

As a sigma male we are very exacting, inasmuch we know what we like and what suits us. We are not prepared to settle for anyone that doesn’t fit our pattern, never mind to actually love them. We will generally give them time to show themselves for who they are and decide accordingly. Surely that is only fair for both parties. By definition, a sigma male does not perform to get approval, you either like who we are, which is great, and if we like you, then we have something special. If you don’t, then it’s a pity, but don’t waste anyone’s time. Love is difficult for anyone. A sigma guy just tries to make it more straightforward.

Well, by this description, I'm a sigma. 2:20, yes, Anna is quite correct in that I'm more content on my own and doing things by myself than with a woman. That creates a big hurdle - a woman has to be really good to divert my time and energy away from my projects, my reading, and working out to want to 'court' one of them. They just aren't these days. If I was to have a woman in my life, she would need to add to it and not be a liability. For instance, I'm now also an event organiser and host as a regional organiser for a national organisation. I'd love to have a woman around who could work the floor with me, talking to attendees (especially the women) and make friends, and put a handle difficult social situations and act as another pair of eyes and ears. I haven't a hope of meeting someone in whom I have the confidence to do that. This group is also in a counter culture area, thus controversial in today's society. Sure, I attract women, but without exception, they expect to be able to use and manipulate. That's a liability. When women discover they can't use or manipulate, they're off. The other problem I have is that when women find out about my life, what I'm involved in, my status in different areas, they realise they're nowhere near my level - which they aren't.

I had a will-they-won't-they thing with a woman that lasted for three years. She moved abroad right when we started to get to know one another. In the back of my mind, I always thought of her as "the one." One day she showed up back in town and told me that I was the reason why she had moved back. This really threw me for a loop, especially because I was dating someone else at the time. I decided not to pursue "the one" because my instinct said she was being manipulative. If I really had been the reason she came back, she would have reached out and let me know ahead of time. I think perhaps I was a fallback plan in her mind after she got done living her adventures, and she was willing to throw a rock into my relationship for this (which she certainly did). I didn't want to be a fallback or a dupe. So I didn't pursue, and even though I am single now I still am not interested. Now when I see her around town, she glares at me. Maybe I was right, maybe I was a fool, but that is my decision.

Liked the video and the cat .The biggest challenge I think sigmas face is finding a woman with some depth in this day and age . Some women can be complete stunners and there is a light on but nobody home . I'm not saying they are dummies because good looking women are really socially intelligent but they are just too much work by and large from my own experience .The same can be said for social intelligence of lesser hot women because they probably get hit on more than the real hot ones , This is because the real hot ones are intimidating to most guys . Having a sister who is super good looking ,I found most guys were really intimidated by her even if they said she was amazing . My sister also spent a lot of Saturday nights watching TV because she got fewer offers for dates than a lot of her girlfriends . I've dated some really good looking women and some lesser beautiful women and figured that if you didn't at least approach the good looking ones it was as good as a no anyway . I'm really and always s have been more interested in what's under the hood over a roll in the hay . I'm interested in a good friend and someone who wants to see the bigger picture over this dating game stuff . I'm more interested in what a woman brings to the table here, because she should at least be able to cook something edible, do some old fashioned skills like sewing and be a help mate . If she figures she wants to just hang out and be well groomed , I can get a dog or cat for that . I think old fashioned picnic sack races were a metaphor for togetherness and relationships .It's really clumsy when you start out but then you get each others rhythm and things go a lot smoother,but like anything else there are gopher holes and other obstacles along the way in life's sack race. It all boils down to perseverance and often times little victories that make you ask if it's really worth it, but in your heart you know it is because this is what true love is about . It's been shown that women are the first to leave a relationship 80 percent of the time and that percentage increases by as much as five percent a year. Those are tough odds for any relationship and I think this is one of the failures of the women's movement .Still odds are just statistics and people have always been known to defy statistics .Something to be said for the blind hog in all of us. I think another 'word' to be used in lieu of Sigma is Chicken-Sh*t. Thats what iv'e been most of my adult life and suffered in Love and Lady contact as a consequence. But the alone stuff has filled the blanks, plus the set mission in life. And a ton of patience. Your videos and another Ladies strengthened my resolve to ask a lass for her number. It kind of went pear-shaped. A Sigma supposedly has the intimidating directness and honesty that can result in an emotion overload for the recipient (scary for them). Watched a video the night AFTER my approach which highlighted this fact. But all part of the learning curve which Anna provides for us incompetents. lol. And to keep working at it. Thanks AMJ

Man, oh man, you're making sure I can't misinterpret anything. I'm honored. For what it's worth, if you were a man, you would be a bit of a sigma yourself. I'll call your presentation, nearly bulletproof. It's already kind of a game. You find people in the world and observe them to understand their motives and what makes them, them. Reverse engineering them to the events that likely formed their tendency to respond in certain ways, or doing a bit of poking and prodding of their intellects, for the sake of finding their contours. Nobody is above the human condition, but it's possible to understand the typical responses you find in people enough, you can largely think independent of the general mindsets you find out there. I suppose it takes a bit of inner reflection and humility to start to rise above conditioned human responses, but that's what's hard to find in anyone. I think, like anyone, we want to find somebody that's not so far from where we're at in life, so we can relate to them enough to be able to grow along side them. Sort of like saying, we're all on a journey, and it's good for someone to be on the same path, near the same point as you, for the sake of walking the path together, and sharing the journey intimately with the other. True partners, with a purpose to boot. The path, perhaps in an oversimplified view, is walking to the universal truth, in the truth, together. It's very hard to find somebody that is on this path, let alone somebody that's near to where you're at. Ideally, people near one another along a shared path, will be both teacher and student to the other. A large gap puts people in either a constant role of mentorship, or being mentored, which isn't nearly so fulfilling. It gets lonely. We all desperately need to be loved in our lives. For the sake of enduring, I try to remain thankful for that which I have, instead of being spiteful for what I'm denied. If life has taught me anything, it's that I'm low man on the totem-pole in regard to intellect and perspective, especially in consideration for what's ultimately good for me. It's rather humbling when you begin to realize how limited the human condition really is. It's still lonely, but that's not to say I don't get it, at least to the extent I'm capable.

So they chase me and I'll go along for the ride for a bit but it doesn't take all that long until I feel trapped or bored and it's time to hit the bricks. Romantic love is almost be definition performative and at its core, contrived.

I'm always fascinated by videos about people trying to understand people like me. I'm even more fascinated by people such as the Your Wingman, whom I greatly admire, trying to give advice to people such as myself. We are who we are and operate on our own resonance; we can't change the frequency of our behaviors. The advice given is more descriptive rather than adaptive. The things you say we should do is more explanative of what is woven into our behaviors rather than something to be adopted or emphasized. This comes across as someone trying to explain to others how we function rather than useful advice to us. As sigma males, we have no loss of interest from the fairer sex, the challenge is screening companions to our proclivities, which we learn to sort out rather quickly; and they exist in exceedingly small quantities.

@@YourWingmam Stigmas have high intelligence; this is synonymous with adaptability. They are sigmas because of their ability to adapt. So asking what adaptive advice would one give is the wrong question to pose. Other than high adaptability characteristics, a Sigma's mind is the same in all other regards. So if a Sigma is having difficulties in finding love, the question is why are they not succeeding in adapting in their coupling activities? Prior experiences, both good and bad are the most likely culprits for failure to adapt. Positive experiences tend to narrowly focus search parameters for exact repeats rather than analyzing what where the general parameters that lead to the initial encounter. Negative experiences lead to overly broad exclusionary criteria hoping to avoid even the faintest whiff of a repeat. What makes sigmas internally tick is their ability and affinity for analysis. But even they can go astray in this regard. Rather than create analysis factors based on other's desired attributes in others, the analysis of what you're looking for should be on what you value. Mine goes something like this: I value humor, beauty - internal beauty first, external second, and intelligence.

At the risk of overwhelming with repetitive statements - if the opportunity is there - learn to dance. East Coast Swing is easy and good music. Low cover charge, most places have drop in lessons, three minutes of dancing will let one know whether or not to keep the conversation going. Dancing is great, as it's a mini date with minimal risk, it enhances any emotional and physical attraction. Learn to utilize the 'cube' interview exercise, this will help with determining if your values and goals align.

As a man who is a published author, professional composer, professional photographer, and owns a small software and video game company, I spend my time on my creative endeavors. I work best alone. I also study stoicism and philosophy. Dating women is secondary, and not a necessity. I am most always alone, but never lonely.
