Tom Gresis arrogance is usually the #1 thing about a villainous edit. carl definitely got the villain edit for a good two episodes, especially since he was trying to go after the heroes at the time, christian and gabby

I've felt the same for some time. By the end of season 20 you were rooting for her to go to the finale because one knew she'd win. I think her redemption arc over three seasons is fantastic!

@@mrjollyguy25 he as a person is a big nerd. Smash gave him his confidence he was called by many the king of smash. He was incredibly cocky, and deservedly so. In survivor he was a timid kid til he felt like he got power and he was cocky and overplayed.

And hot damn was it ever satisfying.

Good call on Dreamz, he was really likable early in Fiji and I had a ton of sympathy for him. Especially when he was getting picked on for not knowing how to use a french press of all things.

@@lavoshakern I agree with that sentiment now, but viewers in the early days of Survivor did not. Even if Dreamz isn't a villain in my books, I can see how viewers saw him have a heel turn to be one. Dreamz came in wanting to be a good role model and by the last episodes it seemed like he was only out for himself. Which is fine, and works well, until you are trying to be a hero character. Players like Colby, Rupert, or Woo were perceived as heroes because they basically sacrificed their games to take the "moral high ground". Dreamz situation was different, but for him to have kept a hero edit he would have needed to do the same--give up the immunity and keep his word. It was not a fair situation

I think Kenny's biggest problem was that he was in the "Golden Age" of Survivor, where they had too many good options to pick from his era. Would love to see Kenny back though, especially now that he's older and wouldn't be as cocky (despite that heel turn being what I liked about him)

My first season was actually Samoa, which came right at the tail end of that, so I had a lot of awesome stuff to catch up on back in the day. Now I'm actually watching through all the seasons with my girlfriend who hasn't seen any of them and it has been a blast. He was potentially framed this way by producers with them ignoring the negative of course. But yes when he came back that final time I was quickly turned off by him and so mad at how nasty and disrespectful he was. I don't want him to come back again

Yea well Big Brother is airing as it’s being taped so the editors don’t know who’s gonna be the winner or who’s gonna make it deep. They aren’t crafting a narrative from the start that’s based on the end result. On that same token, if a fan favourite suddenly starts acting really nasty, it’s just as much of a shock to production as it is to the viewers and they just portray what’s happening in real time
