Idaho summer steelhead fishing is a special experience for most anglers. Growing up in Washington and Oregon we've always wanted to head off onto an adventure to experience some of these special steelhead, and finally after multiple request from all of you on KZfaq, we were finally able to make it happen. Jordan having your line freeze reminded me of steelhead fishing in Michigan in the late 1970s. We used to carry Vaseline and I still had to break the ice off the rod tip every third or fourth cast. Water temperature was usually in the 30s. Your drift had to almost hit them in the nose for a strike. Love the epic adventure

My buddy and I did a 3 1/2 drift boat trip down through Hell’s Canyon. I caught my biggest channel catfish ever. Over 250 smallmouth, nice rainbows and my first sturgeon. My buddy caught and released a 10’ sturgeon. Love that area!

that's beautiful country , and that river and those steelies! I hitched through Idaho in 74. We saw lots of fishing going on, I was 17 and had other things on my mind. Spent a month camping in Spokane, during the Worlds Fair . Always enjoy your videos

Love that area! Other than the steelhead my favorite thing is seeing the elk and big horn sheep. Hopefully it won't be the last time you guys go there.

I havent gotten far into the video, but I'll fish the Salmon river for steelhead near Ramshead. This year I saw a group of bighorns, two of them had a full curl. Coolest thing I've seen until I looked to where I set my pole and saw one of those big horns drinking three feet from it

The Largest Summer Steelhead in the world go up the Skeena River, That’s also where the best steelhead fishing in the world is! For Wild fish that is.

Whitefish make good bait. If you catch one, cut a strip off and you will almost garaunteed get one. I'm willing to bet it works better than eggs because it works whenever you can fish for them

I just made that drive 4 times this month. I live near the nestucca river in yamhill oregon. And have been working in Boise idaho. Saw so much beautiful water and I didn't get to fish any of it.

Those Idaho steelhead always have those huge, rounder than normal heads, they are by far the best eating when caught in the summer time in the lower river. In my opinion better than springers.... greetings from pdx
